  1. I look at it this way. With the boosters coming back on now that Osborne is back it's NOT a money issue for TO or the university. If TO keeps BC around then there is a reason, something he has seen in him and I trust his judgement. Don't forget that as stubborn as TO is it's gotten him a long way in this state. Also remember that Charlie, Milt and possibly a few others have been around from time to time. There is a chance that TO will also rely on these former members and trusted confidants to help in his evaluation of the coaching staff. My last point is this. TO will not make changes unless he plans to be around for a while. He will also not saddle a new AD with the task of removing any coaches nor will he make changes and then expect a new AD to take over and deal with the hand that TO has dealt him. In short I believe TO will be the AD for at least all of next season and potentially a portion of the following season.
  2. That's a new one. Since when was quitting honorable? He's made his bed and he's still here. The kids he's recruited deserve better than him packing it in before the season is over. He, like it or not deserves better than calling for his head with two games left. I enjoy Jim as well but I always remind myself that he is an entertainer first, a showman second a reporter third and NEVER, EVER under any circumstances should he be considered a sportscaster. TO and the fans riding it out with him for two more games says a lot about the program and the fans. Canning him now say a lot as well. Everybody, even BC figures he's gone after the CU game so all this talk about how he should quit or TO should fire him is a lot like kicking a defenseless dog, too old and too tired to bite.
  3. There's been talk for a couple of years now regarding Rose. I never had a problem with him. There was even some talk of Kent Pavelka coming back. Personally I never cared for Kent but he was the voice of the huskers "back then". He's what I grew up on but I never really cared for him. It doesn't much matter. Some never cared for Rose, some never cared for Pavelka. It will be the same with the next guy or gal as far as that goes. As much as I like watching the huskers on the TV it's still a pretty good deal to hear the game on the radio. Especially early in the season when the fish are still biting.
  4. I thought he was talking about anheiser bush. I thought you were going to tell me when he "pulled a bush" he was having a beer on the sideline. Hey could you really blame him? As far as a man relying on faith....good for him. Right now thats the only place he's going to find support in this state. The man is in pretty lonely shoes right now. He's surrounded by a population that greatly dislikes him.
  5. This bag is only intended for use in the event you feel air sickness. Should you become sick during the flight or in this case the game place the bag over your mouth to prevent projectile vomiting about the cabin or the stadium. Should you be "an ugly offspring of a very cranky woman or a female dog" place the entire bag over your head. This techinique also works well if you can do nothing but spew verbal vomit from you mouth in a public place. Thank you and enjoy your flight or game whichever the case may be. Ignore him. If you wish to react to every bunghole you see you'll be worn out before you get to work each a.m.
  6. I've always found this to be backwards thinking. First not everyone from a given place wants to stay there. Some people including highschool seniors and yes even atheltes want to get as far away from home as possible. Second, with the limitation on scolly's one would thinkg that not all this great talent could stay in state. One would think that not every athelete can afford to pay for college thus they may look out of state for a school with a scolly open. Again either the "experts" or my self is thinking "backwards". I just can't figure out which one it is.
  7. I disagree. From what I'm reading more people feel pitty for us than are laughing.........pitty is worse.
  8. Because knowing what a problem is and finding the solution are two different things. Besides, at this point you could make the practive full pad for 6 hours a day every day between now and the end of the season and it won't make a difference because psychologically they have lost before the even get to the stadium. They have given up, quit, packed it in, hit the road, caught the plain to somewhere else. Coz can not do anything about it. The team has lost confidence in him. Right or wrong he could magically become the greatest defensive mind in football and it would not matter because nobody on the team buys into anything he is saying. You can blame him for the fall but right now the players need to own up to their attitude, and mental toughness. The greates motivator in the world can not motivate someone who truly does not want to be motivated and these players truly do not want to be motivated by this man or his staff at this time. He's finished.
  9. Those writers are a bunch of bone heads. When I arrived at his house several other people were trying with little success to pry open the garage door. Note to self: bring bigger pry bar, brick appears to be of adequate size, weight and density. Second Note to self: Free beer should be enough incentive to keep those prying on door more enthusiastice for longer period of time. The reality is that we want nothing left of BC to remind us of his tenure, this includes a rap sheat and any broken glass. We'd rather he simply leave and we can try to erase 4 years from our memory.
  10. With the way he's been coaching it could be something as simple as he's blind as a bat! It doesn't much matter either way. BC will leave and he must stand on his record and his resume'. TO will remain and he too must stand on his record and resume'. In either case I hope both men recieve fair evaluations from their fans.
  11. I can not comment on much of what has been written above. I can only take solice in knowing that Pedy is gone.
  12. Not to get anyones hopes up in any way and not to start any rumors but Pelini stated in an article a while back that he prefers and strong running attack in an offense. I still don't see what everyone sees in Watson. He had one good year with some monster talent at CU. Outside of that I dunno. I'd be curious to see what their numbers looked like and how they ranked offensively while he was at CU
  13. Why is a guy named beano picking on a duck with a bad leg?
  14. That's okay. Rumor has it that someone is going to put a for sale sign in Callahan yard on their way home tonight from work. Just a rumor. Oh ya and any reports to the cops that the guy was driving a grey van, wearing an blue polo and tan dockers or that he is 6'3" and much heavier that he used to be are completely false. I was no where near Bill Callahans home tonight around 5:45 putting a for sale sign in his yard. Just kidding Bill. You have my word I will never visit your house for any reason. Even if you do invite me which you probably won't which doesn't matter cuz I got better things to do.
  15. He kinda reminds me of somebody. "I am an excellant driver, these are not my underwear" Maybe "it's time for Wopner", and judgement is coming.
  16. I couldn't agree more. Man if we could channel all these negative vibes into the A&M fans and team we'd roll over'm. We must use this power for good not evil man!
  17. If you are wondering I do know how to spell coyote, in fact....Sorta like getting zoogies or a snoogies or whatever your so choose.
  18. Just my opinion but BC's fate here in our fine state is all but sealed. Let the man and his FAMILY leave in peace. If we truly are the greatest fans in college football why don't we start acting like it. Let this sleeping dog lie and fade off into the history books for what his tenure was. I'm not sure but I believe BC has a wife and kids still living in Lincoln. Give him and them a break. Right now maybe we should read a few of these posts and think about what all of college football thinks of us right now. We're like a pack of wolves on a dieing sheep and I do mean we.
  19. That's assuming any other coach would have done the things BC has done
  20. I blame his stint as a congressman. (But seriously..Can you really ever be totally honest when talking to the public?) I don't think the public needs to know everything that happens behind closed doors while it's happening. But there's a difference between not telling the whole truth and flat-out lying. TO could be hurting his own legacy and credibility. Everything's still conjecture right now though. Let's wait and see what happens before pointing any fingers. Since the mods closed the thread I'll throw this out. I don't recall TO saying he wasn't going to make any changes before the season is over. I could be wrong but I believe he stated that "he has no plans to make any changes". There is a big difference. You guys act like TO has handcuffed himself to a chair and refuses to make any changes no matter what. The program is in a mess and was getting worse by the hour. TO simply stated he had no plans. Now if things change plans change. That's not lying that's called making appropritate decisions at the appropriate time. I have no intention of pestering the local law enforcement but if someone breaks into my house you can bet I will. I have no intention of filling my car with gas today either. That is unless I find that it needs it. It's not lying and it does not hurt the mans reputation. The mans reputation speeks for itself and until we have actual unquestionable evidence to the contraray we give the man the credit he has EARNED!
  21. Several years ago I was out in Mich State country after the 63-36 CU game and they were calling them the "Black Skirts". It's hard to have a come back after a 63-36 game like that. I must confess the photo does remond me of the "black skirts" comment. It still hurts. As a side not their form is wrong. Not any better than their ability to perform the fundamentals on the football field.
  22. Matt "the Weisel I bleed for the Sux and Pats" and Travis reported on 590 the other day that BC never signed the extension. Rumor was that he was looking at getting back to the NFL as an assistant. At least that's what Matt "the Weisel I bleed for the Sux and Pats" and Travis had to say".
  23. If Jesus were coaching the Huskers we'd all be in a world of hurt. I suspect he's got better things to do.
  24. If your right the Pud is a fool who was duped by BC. If you are wrong Pud is just a jerk. Either way he had to go. I will say you might be right though. He was fooled into sending a jet to Arkansas for the Nutt, thinking he could get Sanders from KC. Vermeil spoke openly that Sanders never had any intention of going to NU at any time. The again who cares. He's gone and it's now a part of history. While I am a history buff this is one chapter I'd rather close for a week or so.
  25. I've become board with all the rumors so I thought I'd throw this out. I predict a much more focused team on Sat. They may win or they may lose but I predict that for the first time in a while they will be able to walk off the field with their heads up rather than down. Go Huskers!
