  1. Grumpy, pissy, ungrateful about how good we have it ?? That sounds judgmental on your behalf. Many people have thoughts and opinions and understand what you pay for today is not always worth the product or its value. Let me give you an example. In 2010 the Big Mac cost about $3.99 and today, the same burger costs $5.99 to $6.49. In 2002 that same burger, with the same ingredients and same size was just under $2 bucks (1.99). Nothing changed with the hamburger, just the price of it. In your opinion, if people have an opinion about it and choose not to spend the money on it, vent or speak their mind, they are grumpy and pissy and ungrateful. Same price, same burger. And some people don't want to pay for Peacock. And their cool with that. Hopefully you can be cool with that too and less judgmental. People are different. PS. I still pay the 6 bucks for that sandwich, it's delicious, but it's not really worth more than 2 or 3 bucks if we are honest.
  2. I have Peacock and I hope we destroy Maryland, and I apologize to any Husker brother or sista who won't get to see the game. On record, if I did not have it I wouldn't waste my time getting it. Unless we were playing Iowa or Penn State or something like that. Maryland though? Yeah, no thanks. But, again that's not a problem for me to deal with. And if the game gets more uglier than usual, I can always change the channel.
  3. LOL well I really do like how Emmet Johnson runs, and I do like how Haarberg runs in space. I think the running game has been a pleasant surprise. Especially after losing Gabe and Rahmir to injuries, and AG getting bypassed by EJ for ball security reasons. And the O-Line has had their injuries too. And then incorporate defenses that stack the box a little bit from not having a good passing game threat........ So yeah, the running game has been pretty good IMO with all things considered.
  4. LOL ! Yeah it's funny to hear that we don't run it enough. On record, if you know me, I have always been the odd one who is "Throw the Damn Ball Guy". I love me some passing!
  5. It's not true that Luka cannot get this team to the Championship. Or that he cannot win in playoffs. If you remember, just the year before last season, Luka had the Mavericks playing in the Western Conference Finals. They got slaughtered by Golden State, with much respect to the Warriors. But he did get them to the WCF not long ago. It's not a Luka or Mavericks problem to solve, because GS and now Denver are the premier playoff teams in the West (and overall IMHO). Those two teams are built for playoff series basketball, and you have to go through them. Which is most difficult for anyone, including the Mavericks. I don't see Denver getting unseated anytime soon. But if any team can do it, then it's Golden State. 2 seasons ago, Phoenix traded for Durant and they had the best Vegas Odds to win it all. The media also agreed. But, Luka led the Mavericks past them, and destroyed Phoenix in the last 2 games to go to the Finals (won by 27, won by 33). They embarrassed Durant/Booker/Paul etc. And then Golden State whooped the Mavs back into reality lol.... Last year the Mavs were on track to make the playoff post season again, and Luka was leading the NBA in scoring at 34 per game. We all know that after Mark Cuban mysteriously traded for Kyrie Irving, the Mavs played horrible and lost their way out of the playoff picture. Luka's scoring dropped because of it too, and he finished 2nd or 3rd in scoring. Total dissaster and stupid move by Mark Cuban. Fortunately, the Mavs will be back in the playoffs this season, and they are 6-1 right now (only loss was a clear whoopin by the Nuggets). Luka is just 24. He has led the Mavs to 31 playoff games between the age of 19-22. The Mavs were terrible before he got to town, consistently being a below average team and missing the playoffs. Their seasonal record before him: 33-49 24-58 33-49 42-40 As for Luka and the playoffs? He can carry the team, but he could use a lot more help from the starting lineup and the bench. I loved the guys they had but traded for Kyrie Irving (Dorian Finney-Smith & Dinwiddie) because they could defend, score in the post or from outside. And here is what Luka has done in his playoff career (remember - 19 years old to 22 years old): 31 games Scored 25 points a game or more, 23 times. Scored 30 points a game or more, 17 times. Scored 40 points a game or more, 8 times 15 double-doubles 3 triple-doubles 17 rebounds in a game (High) 14 assists in a game (High - twice) Led team to Western Conference Finals - Once 19-22 years old; Dude is a stud. He can't do it alone though. It's too hard and takes a lot of energy out of one person to carry a team in the playoffs. But after saying all that I still think Denver is (and will continue to be) the best team in the league, and the team you have to go through. The next team below them is the Golden State Warriors - and we've seen how many years they've been to the Finals and won it all. So they are the only team that could possibly unseat Denver. That's two teams that own the West in my opinion. And it has nothing to do with how great Luka is or his off-nights. Those teams are the best by far. Phoenix is also a contender. And man, I really like the Kings too, but they are like the Mavericks and will be missing an extra piece to make the next step.
  6. "ON Record"... I hope Denver repeats and three-peats. Best collectively team playing and inspired B-Ball I seen since the time frame of the mid 80's to early 90's. -Mavs fan here saying that. I'm down with the Nuggets
  7. Wow... Because everything you said....
  8. and.. Run The Damn BAll Guy still aint happy !!!
  9. I might be, and nothing wrong with knowing the entire scope of the NBA and what is talked about in pop-media news (Fox/ESPN). And it's probably because I see him play 50 times a year more than yall besides watching a lot of hoops. I never was talking about haters, because haters are everywhere. I was talking about "magnifying an NBA superstar's deficiencies on a National level". Luka pouts and whines too much. We know it, we all see it. Pop media talks about it in depth more than they do about how incredible he is. Butler, Green, Shroeder, Brooks, Leonard, Westbrook, Harden are not superstars. Nor is Haliburton, Brown, Donovan Mitchell, Randle, Irving, Paul, Ja Morant, Tre Young etc, etc. Some of them once were. Some of them will be included soon. Embid, Durant, Curry, Giannis, Jokic, Luka & AD are the leagues superstars. With Anthony Davis at the bottom of it. Tatum, Booker and Lillard are slightly below them. Lebron was forever, side by side with Bryant for years, but he's now a step behind superstar level. Still a great player like the others mentioned above. Anyway, I'm done I'm good.
  10. No don't think so. He looks at the defense pre-snap. He then looks to the sidelines for the audible call if there is one (since he doesn't quite read defenses too good). From there, he drops back.... and things become all sorts of bluey for him (Sometimes. Or a lot of times. And sometimes it goes smoothly). If things are calm, like in practice after a "do-over", he can complete that 5 yard pass downfield. Or 8 yard pass. Having said that, ultimately, when he does decide to run on passing plays, it is because his decision-making ability to throw the ball (to a spot that they practiced) is mentally a step or two late. Sometimes it's the TE/WR running the route slower than normal. Sometimes he feels pressure from the DLine caving in. Sometimes he just freezes and isn't sure what to do. It's when he can't decide where to throw that he abandons the pass play, and tries to evacuate the pocket. He runs because it's more natural to him than throwing the ball... it's his go-to reaction. Only a few special quarterbacks across the college football realm can do the that unique quarterback thing..... like, reading defenses, making quick decisions, getting rid of the ball, throwing to a spot, hitting the receiver in the face mask so he can catch it (like it's taught) and run after the catch, on most passing plays called. Some of these special quarterbacks throw it to a spot almost immediately after receiving the snap. Like it's been taught. Like they know where to throw to.... Throw to X if this happens; Throw to Y if that happens. Dump off to RB if that happens. It's almost like an internal clock and with knowledge and reps. Most QBs are not thinking "I'm going to run and truck the linebacker!!!!" because they know their throwing shoulder is very important to the offense. So is their wrist and knees and back.
  11. Truth. Facts. Yall are 100% right. And deep down we all hate it (fans everywhere). It is okay to point it out. It is okay to say in the media "Stop doing that, stop complaining - you are too good to be whining". And that is perfectly fine to be objective to talented players that show their weaknesses and bad games. Now all we have to do (and MEDIA) is show the weaknesses for the other great players in the league, and talk about it a lot. So that everyone is aware of it too. But that doesn't really happen. The majority of NBA superstars that have terrible games - shooting and turning the ball over a ton, and looking below average is sometimes mentioned but often glossed over. It is not as magnified as Luka. It rarely becomes the focal story of other NBA superstars. When a player misses 20 shots, but scores 30 it is all about their highlights and not those terrible shots, or their 5-8 turnovers. We need more consistency pointing out and talking about all of the superstars horrible games and idiosyncrasies too. It's not just Luka who has bad moments.
  12. You are mostly right, and it was one of his worst games in a few years. Trust me I have seen almost all of his games. His effort was horrible when he did not have the ball. Time after time he stopped after a shot and looked at officials while Denver ran the other direction down the court. It was embarrassing. And I hope the team & coaching staff get on his a$$ for it. I don't know why he pulls that type of attitude. It happens once every 10 games, but this was really bad. He stunk, he had terrible defense, he couldn't get the pick and roll going, and he shrank his shoulders to the refs when he couldn't finish. Pathetic. He's still one of the best - top 3
  13. As this year winds down, I think it is best to stick with Haarberg for the final 3 games. He's a backup QB, but the team doesn't have a legit QB1. And no matter how we see the offense go through ups and downs, highs and lows, you still stick with him for THIS YEAR. Sims is done, he is out of here. He's probably known it for a few weeks by now (his future). He's been a good teammate and is happy when HH makes good plays. But don't hold your breath on him coming into a game, especially with Wisconsin and Iowa lurking. It's not fair to him to have to play the first 2 road games (Minn & Colo) and then be asked to go beat Maryland, Wisc & Iowa. Sims fresh year was 2020, so he got a Covid year of extra eligibility. Officially he is a JR, but has played 4 games and has never redshirted. Like I said, after the season he will go somewhere else. And I wouldn't blame him. Just didn't work out like we all hoped. As for Purdy..... goodness people. Why would any fan think about trying him with a lot on the line? Why would you insert your 3rd string quarterback who hasn't played? And think that "just try it" means that he can beat Wisconsin on the road, and then Iowa at home? He hasn't really played since last year. It would only take a few series with him and fans would think "WTH is this?!!! - We suck!!! - get Haarberg back in!!!" We won 5 games. We have bettered our results from the past few seasons while trying to implement a new direction and toughness. We have Haarberg. Learning on the job, week to week. When it's ugly, we know it. When he plays clean, we can move the chains and be effective. That is all we have, and it is the best we got. And personally, I think playing Iowa at home is our best chance to win that 6th game and make a bowl game, with HH. As for Maryland, it is a lot to ask the offense to play clean, score 25-30 points and defend their passing game. It is possible. But it is a lot to expect to happen.
  14. My bad, that's probably Conti because she does look like Sauer from the Big Ten. But yeah, weird to be handsy by Deion. Although I have seen in games when the male referees not get bothered by it from him. Probably because he's a big celeb/former super bowl champion and icon. Would be hard to not be his buddy if he's cool with you lol
  15. This is all "private investigator" stuff stinks like bitter apples and sour grapes from Ohio State University people. Since the day the rumors started to float, I suspected this coming from the Buckeyes. Listen, it is almost universal among sports teams to try to get an edge and do some shady stuff until they get caught somehow. Been going on like that for decades, so I am not surprised by the accusation, but it is strange when it's just one team being targeted and called out. Especially a team that is winning a lot. Rewind - On September 9, 2007, the NFL catches the New England Patriots illegally videotaping coaching signals of the New York Jets from an unauthorized location in a Week 1 game in East Rutherford, N.J.—a scandal the media soon dubs "Spygate." - In 2015, during the AFC championship game, the New England Patriots deliberately deflated footballs below legal levels...... - Reggie Bush was not paid to go to USC - until busted. - Cam Newton was not paid to go to Auburn.... - Sammy Sosa and Albert Belle never corked their bats to hit 50+ homers and get paid millions.... McGwire, Clemons, Bonds never took steroids... Nor did anyone else on other teams.... until you get caught. Cheating and doing things unethically is everywhere in sports. It sucks. I don't know what to do about it. I just think crying about it is annoying.
  16. Yeah he needs to keep his hands off the refs, regardless if he likes to do that, but especially to a lady official in the pic above. She does many big ten games, including the Huskers. Story on her was that she was once married to a guy, divorced him, and moved on to a lady partner. Which is fine. I think she might have married her, I forget. But anyway, Deion gets enough celebrity calls from the refs that he doesn't need to put his hands on them.
  17. The defense did their job. Good enough to win most football games. It's not their fault that they didn't save the day, once again, week after week. Their job is to defend, the best they can, and be supportive of their own offense. The game was tied 10-10 at halftime. All Husker scoring drives in 2nd half by the offense: 2nd half - All Husker possesions/drives... Huskers - 6 plays 29 yards, PUNT Huskers - 3 plays, -4 yards, PUNT Huskers - 3 plays, 1 yard, PUNT Huskers - 3 plays, 3 yards, PUNT Huskers - 6 plays, 41 yards, INTERCEPTION Huskers - 4 plays, 65 yards, TOUCHDOWN Huskers - 3 plays, 6 yards, FUMBLE Huskers - 3 plays, 1 yard, FUMBLE, END OF GAME Yeah, That's what the offense did. With the players on the field. The Huskers defense allowed 295 yards and 2 touchdowns. MSU was 3-14 on third downs MSU had 63 rush yards on 31 attempts MSU had 7 penalties for 70 yards MSU had 232 pass yards on 24 attempts - 46 yards on ONE trick-pass play. The MSU QBs threw for just 186 yards in 4 quarters. I will note that the special teams units were also bad and gave up hidden yardage and put lost the field position battle. Which is ultimately key in the Big Ten for helping to get wins. Husker's punter did his typical subpar performance: 5 punts for 35.4 yard average. The Huskers were forced to punt from their own 21 yard line, and our punter kicked it 28 yards, giving MSU 1st and 10 at the Huskers 49. He does this nearly every game (short punt when you need a big leg boot to flip the field). Fortunately the defense stuffed MSU and forced them to punt it away too. Meawhile, MSU's punter kicked 7 punts for 48.3 average. Of course. And the fair catch calls on 6 out of 7 punts also put the offense into bad field position. Several of those punts should not have been caught because they might have bounced into the end zone. And a few punts should have been returned with so much room to catch and run. We just couldn't throw a catchable pass enough times. We couldn't make immediate decisions where to pass to. We got sacked and felt pressure and struggled to scramble, as if the pocket was filled with sand. Would have gotten one obvious touchdown on the long pass to Bullock if it was read right by the QB. Would have gotten a blatant pass-interference call going our way if the pass was at least 5 yards from the target (Coleman got blasted by a defender). Threw a pick into the endzone that was overturned by a defensive penalty away from the play. I think we eventually scored a TD on that drive, or was it a FG? Running the ball wasn't too bad with a loaded box. It was bad passing, poor, slow decisions and bad QB play. With turnovers. Oh well though. Guys gave it their best. Just came up short in the end.
  18. I was surprised and happy how the Rangers led the Division for most of the year, after losing 94 games and 102 games previously. Beating Tampa Bay, Baltimore and Houston in the playoffs was unbelievable. So proud of them. Winning the World Series took my breath away. So proud of this team. I am still so happy and cannot believe it really happened.
  19. Earlier in the year, Colorado State would have won if they didn't play prevent defense on a 95 yard drive.
  20. Maryland 38 Huskers 6 Rush 145 Pass 71
  21. It was a 3 hour game that felt like 6 hours. With Frankenstein playing quarterback.
  22. I'm assuming the West/East Divisions won't be a thing next year, but perhaps in the future it will come back again. If that happens, We will be part of the West with the new teams from the Pac 12, and some of the teams we currently play each year would move towards the East. Just guessing. But yeah, this year the West is really, really bad. And I am not going to apologize for their bad play. I am enjoying this rare Husker success
  23. Never said it's special to win 8 or 9 games. Bo Pelini was so 10 years ago. But, UCLA is winning 8 & 9 games and now 6-2 after a stretch where they won 4, 6, 3, 4, 3 games prior to winning 8, then 9 games during current times when offenses and teams around the country are playing better and inserting players with NIL/Transfer portal players. It's a totally different time than when Bo was beating South Dakota, Western Kentucky, Idaho and Arkansas State on the yearly to get those 9 wins with just 8 conference games at hand.
  24. UCLA nothing special?? 8-4, then 9-4 and now 6-2... tough crowd lol I think UCLA is trending upward and if the DMARC of the Big Ten starts after Penn State, I think the Bruins are every bit as good the Nittany Lions. Maybe a bit better, maybe slightly worse. Michigan Ohio State Penn State ---------------------- As for USC..... Lincoln Riley is still 10 years away from even thinking about defense. He will still have the QBs and offensive fire power though, until he finally figures it out that there is more to a team than just offense. Oregon is and will be among the top 3 in this conference along with Mich and OSU for years to come. Washington might lose a step when Penix leaves, but they will be in that #4-7 range with Penn State, UCLA and USC (within the league each year). Wisconsin and Iowa will sink down from the middle top as the league becomes more difficult to win each week. They will actually have to play some real teams, and I don't think they will handle it well. The really cool part is getting to play these teams, which makes for exciting Husker weeks than it is anticipating playing against Rutgers or Purdue or iLLinois or NW. The other cool part is that the Big Ten won't have an undefeated powerhouse anymore since the Huskers joined (and before that). Ohio State will lose some conference games. Michigan will lose some conference games. It will be fun and exciting in that aspect.
