  1. WOW can't believe I forgot Niles Paul...and I really wanted to list Chris Brooks.....but I didn't know if he would qualify since he has been here for a while Yep. It's easy to forget a lot of these guys. The only time you see them is handing out cups of gatorade. Unfortunately.
  2. Niles Paul, Major Culbert and Chris Brooks. But yah, I totally agree with you. Getting the frosh and sophs some meaningful series will benefit them for the long run with experience and confidence. Heck, maybe one or a few of these guys will turn into playmakers. It just doesnt happen though when they are sitting on their helmets on the sidelines. I am excited to see the remaining games and what happens.
  3. What I liked about Pavelka that I dont hear often from Rose, is the constant score and time on the clock. These days, you listen an entire segment and rarely get the score until commercial. Which if you join late, it's the thing you are dieing to find out. I do like the enthusiasm Rose brings. If you have Sirius, switch over and listen how non-emotional (did I make up a word?) so many of the other games are. A&M broadcast is the worst. They kept calling the Huskers by the position "the running back, the linebacker" instead of the actually person b/c they didnt research or prep enough. And Rose will tell you the other team's player that make the play, have the ball, etc. I dont care for the "he's at the 8.. 7.. 6.. 5.. 4.. 3.. and finally down at one, no... touchdown" calls. Who was the guy who said after each Husker score "Touchdown! Touchdown! Touchdown!" Was that Pavelka or Swain?
  4. I cant answer this thread. I tried. But just cant. I want the Huskers to win 'em all.
  5. We are going to find out this Saturday, and the remainder of the season. Got to believe he is on an emotional high. Starting QB for the Big Red. It wont be easy, KU, KState, CU. Just remember he hasnt played meaningful minutes in awhile. He hasnt had a snot-bubble yet, or responding after an INT or fumble. So let's keep this in mind and show some support and patience. I'm ready for Saturday!
  6. Interesting indeed. Lucky mentioned that they scrapped the first 15 plays of the game b/c the running game was doing so well. That was a great adjustment.
  7. These are petty hilarious, but in my mind, nothing will beat the USC lookalike thread.. If you are ever in need of a good laugh, check it out.
  8. Sure, Ryan Leaf will be QB coach & Tony Mandarich will handle the O-line. Kidding...
  9. I like to think mobile QBs have an advantage. Just by having pocket awareness and being able to slip or move around to buy an extra second or two helps avoid the sack and find recievers. I prefer mobile QBs that move around to throw, and occasionally scramble for positive yards, as appose to running QBs that take off right away when the pressure is on. This offense does not need a strong arm. The passes are usually 10 - 15 yard "high percentage" throws from the pocket. I'm looking forward to see what happens. Especially after Ganz gets knocked down hard, sacked, dealing with blitzes, and so on. The green jersey will be off. I hope he plays well. We'll find out this week. And that's exciting. I like his confidence. Third year in the system and wanting this opportunity. He knows the offense. All he has to do is manage it, and move the chains.
  10. Could I get you more Kool-Aid while I'm up? (It was invented in Nebraska, you know...) Sure. Bring a pitcher.
  11. What blowouts? Nevada? He got in last year in at least two games that I can remember. I think he was thinking of us getting blown out, like the MU game, Texas A&M, Okie St. to just name a few. Yes, and yes. Have no idea why he never got a series during those games.
  12. Dr. Tom is so I awesome. I believe him. Wish others would too. Then the rumor mill might ease up some.
  13. I think he's had his chances, and has tried very hard for four years. It just didnt work out. Plain and simple. That's not giving up, that's letting go and moving on. I wish him well, I dont see him staying after the season ends. Not even for a second.
  14. That sucks. What a bummer. I feel bad for Keller and Lance. As for Ganz, I'm sure he is ready b/c of his preparation, confidence, and three years in the system. The coaching staff give him 30% of practice snaps. They didnt do a good job of getting him actual game time experience outside of an occasional mop up/hand off duty if that. I looking foward to seeing Ganz out there. I'm not expecting too much, b/c how could I? I havent seen him play during meaningful minutes, at all. Evah. And neither have the coaches. Only practice and spring ball.
  15. So if the alumni put together three million to buy out Cally's contract, does that mean the next coach has to be their choice only? I'm sorry, but that thinking doesnt sit well with me. Because I'm confident that TO will interview several candidates after the season and make the best fit for Nebraska and the University. Nothing will happen during the season, no matter how many new threads get started and eventually become retreads. Not sure, but this will either be merged with the coaching thread out there (you know, the one that says coaching thread for all possible candidates & is 4 pages long) or perhaps merged into the Get your Pelini here - All Bo, All the time thread. BTW - I'm not trying to put you down at all Thunder.
  16. There is so much depth here, just sitting on the pine that were once highly recruited, will now get a chance to participate and actually play. Who would of thought that? So if we take a hit, lose some recruits, it will only be this one class. So relax, and do not worry. The new sheriff that comes in town will get active and get the recruits in the following year.. and the the year after that, and so on. Cally did not invent recruiting top ten classes. He only invented ways to not play them.
  17. Bro.. of course this gang is not going to try to save the recruiting class. Cally has already spoken about the instability at Lincoln is "hurting" (his favorite term for symph) the recruiting class. So naturally, if they talk to a recruit it may sound like "not sure what's gonna happen buddy, you might want to look at other schools". But rest assured, all of those that inquiry, that if the recruiting takes a hit it will only be this class. Whoever takes over will get the great recruiting classes coming here year after year, and the funny part is.... they will actually play them. All that rocket science is out the door with Cally. Later.
  18. did someone say... sabotage..? H4PN7Xbexq4 BEASTIES!! That video & song is badazz. Great flo.. H@ck you cr@ck me up!
  19. I dont think it helps that Cally has spoken several times to the media that because the future is uncertain it is naturally going to hurt recruiting. So if he can say that to the media, it is just as possible that they can tell a future recruit to check out other schools. Personally speaking on the recruiting issue, I think that we are talking about one class, or one year only, that we may lose some recruits. Talkng about this year only. What that means is... big deal. It doesnt mean the following years we will not be in the top. Whoever comes here will clean up the mess, play who we have, because we are stacked with tons of talent that havent even seen the field yet, and return to the top 10-15 each year in recruiting.
  20. Yah that text thing was sooo 2006. Gabbert sent picture mail instead. Kidding of course
