  1. Not in the Ruuds' case... ZING!!!
  2. And....where are Ball St's players from????LOL LOL... they are from Ball.. Ball.. footBall County?
  3. Absolutely our #1 weakness with linebacker play #2 and our O-line 3rd. All of these areas are terrible and should rank in the bottom half of the conference. They are equally as bad. If you are not playing good, then you cant rank them in a "somewhat bad, kind of bad, terribly bad" etc. You are either good or bad. As for the post, I agree the D-line needs to play better. They are young and inexperienced as a group. It will take practice, more games, and growing. But not alone do they make champions. It's still a team sport.
  4. LBs are being man handled. As for the booing, it sucks. Keep it in Philly so the Eagles fans can continue to be the worst year after year. Support your team without it.
  5. California, Florida, Texas, yah that's the cream of the recruiting crop. But dont tell me that Ohio State, West Virginia, or even Boston College fills up their depth chart with these players. And they are having success. So in other words, a lot of teams find other areas for their schollies. Throw in Wisconsin, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Louisville, Va.Tech (meaning normally year after year) these teams as well. We're in the same boat. Recruiting is important, but it's not everything. You have to consider teaching (coaches & upper classmen) to add an impact in development of the young guys. And sometimes people take a little longer to grow and mature into a great player. College athletes are bigger, faster, stronger, and more mature as people and players than sure talent on a high school team.
  6. Dont be fooled. Texas is playing weak this year. I've seen each game. Colt McCoy is pressing. And their defense isnt as good as you might expect. They beat Arkansas St. 21-13 & Central Florida 35-32. If TCU had an offense, that game would have been up in the air. It's a reason why they have dropped some spots in the polls. As for the article, its not a stretch of the imagination to call the Huskers overrated by tossing in the back-to-back 40pt games on D. I think all they are doing is pointing out the obvious.
  7. maybe this years team just is not as good as you all (fans) thought. I also was wondering what has happened to recruiting? You guys were getting pretty good players during your NC days, but now, it just looks like you are not getting the atheletes you used to. What has happened? Oklahoma seems to still get the great players. The only reason i chose Oklahoma is because it was NU and them back in the day fighting it out for NCs. why are they still getting the players and it seems NU is not? And what has happened to the walk-on program? Stoops & Co. can easily go to Texas to recruit and offer schollies. OU has been doing it forever. The recruit wont get too home sick. Just drive across the Red River. And basically, the top athletes in Texas get to pick: UT or OU? The majority of the next tier chooses the other Texas schools. Then after that a few will go outside.
  8. That's bad-azz! It is funny though about the comparisons!
  9. Secondary has to be taught better at closing down those angles that give up an additional 10,20,30 yards. Definately need some footwork & speed drills. Linebackers need a ton of hitting & wrapup drills using both arms. And coaches need to get rid of the whistle and run these guys to the ground hitting over and over and over. Rest up on friday. Its football man. If you get hurt, sorry but tough it up already. Quit being a bunch of wussies. It's football man. Get that gang tackling drill going. And quit being owned by a damn blocker. Earn your blackshirt or get out, and get somebody else in until someone proves they earn it by doing it over and over and over. Is that too demanding, too difficult? So what. I need 25 of the toughest dudes to step up and prove it to me minute after minute, day after day. Then prove it to yourself. Of course, that would be my MO. But I'm not a coach. Heck, I didnt even sleep in a Holiday Inn. Peace-OUT!
  10. Can the Huskers score more than 10-14 points in the first half? Until this past weekend, it was never more than 10. That kind of worries me. Oh, and the chance that someone can put 40 on us at home is a reality.
  11. I dont completely agree. I think if the toughen up practices, and change some schemes I think it can (and will) get better. will it happen before MU. I doubt it I see what you're saying, it's cool. I hope you are right! I am only going by what I have seen over the past three years and 4 games this season. And I'm okay with my answer.
  12. Marion "The Barbarian" is a beast. No one in the NFL runs so hard and determined play after play. As for the rest of your post, I see what you are saying. I'm okay with him. He has been given the opportunity to be the guy this year. It's up to him to get better each game. Still would like to see some holes opened up for him. Not sure that's gonna happen much. As for Keller, he's doing well this year. I'm pleased so far!
  13. Regarding the topic "Can the rest of the staff pull the Defense around?" ..... No. Back to back 40 at home. One's luck, two is a trend. Buckle up & let's hope the offense can outscore. There's more than one way to have faith. GBR!
  14. Slogan: "The Option is back back!" (On defense, apparently tackling IS an option) Just kidding...
  15. You threw me off.. that was totally hilarious!
  16. Heisman talk... why? Lucky is not average, the line is. It's their job to create a crease or hole. It's not happening. And if Lucky isnt one of the top ten backs in the nation, then stop believing the hype that misleads you through the recruiting process. I'm okay with him. He's definately not the best, but for an overall back, he's above "average".
  17. Ball State has some good athletes & they played with no fear of intimidation. It was mentioned in the post game comments. Let's give them some credit.
  18. Awesome.. Joe Tess & Johnny's Cafe... places my parents, aunts & uncles, & grandparents went to.
