It really hurts how timid we are with predicting this game because of how much our offense sucks. I hate not being confident that we can put points on the board. With the playcalling I saw on Saturday (seriously, did we run variations of only 6 plays) I have no confidence that we'll move the ball.

They. Were. At. The. Refs!!! Holy crap people! As an observer of the game sitting in the stands of Memorial stadium, I saw where the boos were directed at. The 7 refs walking to the southwest corner of the stadium at half.

If this is true... ...it sucks...but could be worse. You can give me the 3rd degree on how this hurts depth and he's a senior leader and yadda yadda yadda...but in five games, the dude's got 11 catches for 124 yards. For a starting senior wide receiver...that's quite unacceptable. And why does he only have that much? BECAUSE HE DROPS TOO MANY FRIGGIN PASSES! So, I think we'll be okay, we'll plug in someone new and see if they can drop as many balls as Holt.

Actually, the biggest loss is Rex's development. Four to six weeks, lets say six worst case scenario, is basically the entire season. This is going to extremely hinder his growth and potential. Now, since we already used his redshirt, he basically lost half a year.... ..that's what bugs me.

I don't get the notion that his offense is a "gimmick." It operates under the same rules as everyone else's, it just creates mismatches that teams cannot cope with. Leach's offense is unique in much the same was as Osborne's crazy-strong rushing attack was unique in the 90s. Sure, I've had issues with some of the conduct Leach has had over the years, but there isn't a coach out there whose conduct I haven't questioned at one time or another, Husker coaches included. But see.... ...Osborne played defense too....something Leach hasn't quite figured out.

I'm watching this game....and I am just appalled at the defensive ineptitude shown by both teams. When either of these teams play someone with even a pulse on defense....game over.
