  1. What I saw: 1. Louisville dominated on both fronts in the run game. Miami's offensive line got no push and Duke Johnson (95 yards on 21 carries) had to do everything by himself. 2. Miami's D line looked better against the pass (sacked Will Gardner four times). 3. Louisville kept hitting the exact same underneath route over and over again. Westerkamp could have that all night (though those long vertical passes could be trouble, Miami's secondary is too fast to get beaten on those too many times like FAU's did). 4. Brad Kaaya probably will not be Miami's QB when they come to Lincoln . . . 5. . . . but they still have a pair of REALLY good wide receivers. If they have a QB capable of getting them the ball consistently they'll be dangerous. 6. Key stat for Miami: 1 of 13 on 3rd downs. Average 3rd down distance: 8.46 yard (skewed upward slightly by a late 3rd and 23 and a 3rd and 19)
  2. People talk about Martinez like he was Joe Bauserman.
  3. my favorite stat: 60+ yards per possession, and 7+ yards on first down.
  4. Still have questions about Beck, Not sure how this is even possible. We set the Big 10 record, run the perfect offense, and this guy "still has questions" about Beck. Unbelievable. one great game doesn't replace an entire career full of questionable decisions. especially given the competition.
  5. passing stats have to be taken within the context of the style of the offense. if a Texas Tech quarterback completes 50% of his passes there's something off. Armstrong can probably get away with it in our style of offense, especially if he's got a decent yards per attempt, and especially if Abdullah wants to go ahead and run for 200+ yards every week.
  6. i dunno guys, i really think the team prayer should just stay with the team.
  7. i thought we settled this when we beat michigan in the 2005 alamo bowl.
  8. push. number of punt returners for NU: 2.5
  9. Glad to read this. I've been critical of Armstrong but I really don't want a controversy.
  10. our defensive line depth, man. more like "shallowth."
  11. smh, this is on the s%c staff, letting this happen. fortunately the sports science guys were there to bring him back to life. "s%c" typo unintentional, but decided to leave it in.
  12. Show up earlier... or pay full price for an assigned seat... BOO-HOOO.. YOU ARE A COLLEGE STUDENT... You get cheap tickets... You get the opportunity to get a good seat if you want to. I graduated 3 yrs ago and so I am not some Blue Hair, but come on.. You dont support your team because you might not have a seat 10 feet from the field? don't get me wrong, I'm with you. it could be worse, at least they have a view of the video board.
  13. It's been said in here, but it's definitely true: the students would probably be a lot more likely to come out if their seats weren't terrible.
  14. I'm fine with that. never pass again
  15. Looks like something else we borrowed from Chip Kelly. http://grantland.com/features/chip-kelly-philadelphia-eagles-nfl-influence/
  16. Ehh, I've seen darn near every Nebraska preview talk about our rebuilding OL. I think the writer just sees we lost Sirles, Long, etc. and assumes no one else has played.
  17. Three mentions. First, this thing about nutrition: Second, Ameer in the Heisman candidates section: Third, number 24 in their preseason poll:
  18. c'mon knapp we're almost always in shotgun these days.
  19. y'all have really split the HELL out of this hair.
  20. This. Iirc, RKIII was the guy who led the game winning drive against PSU. We don't have him to fall back this year. People also conveniently forget that if the defense didn't shore up its act in those games, the offensive output never would have been enough to win. So what you're saying is that because we scored more points than we allowed, we won. ..... ......... Congratulations! You have successfully written in a sentence how the game of football decides who wins the game! Here's a cookie: my point was (and I thought this was fairly obvious) was that had the offense not spent the previous 57 minutes not getting it done, those last minute drives would not have been necessary.
