  1. No way Tressel is going anywhere. If you remember, most thought USC was going to whoop up on the OSU again like last year. Tressel almost pulled it off...he had to play his field position game and hope the USC freshman QB could not pull it off. He went with the percentages. It wasn't the best coaching but he gave his team chance to win. If he beats Penn State and gets a Rose Bowl birth, this will long be forgotten. He'd have to be humiliated by Penn State and Meechicken and lose other games to be ousted. Not going to happen. Pryor will get better and they have legitimate Rose Bowl chance every year in that weak conference.
  2. I love the 2 clips I have linked here because of the very inspirational and powerful music they are set to. Thought it would be awesome if anyone out there could make Husker videos set to this music. and
  3. NU 23 VT 30 Run 115 Pass 225 Hope I am wrong but I see VT rushing game to give us fits with RB busting through and QB breaking contains. Also, Lee has been doing great but this will be first major test in hostile environment. We CANNOT turn the ball over. GBR
  4. Luv it...his nickname is House of Bombs! Let's get him in for a visit and we will be good. That's all I want...for him to come see for himself.
  5. More on Moore from Husker Journal. I really like our chance at this kid wearing the N! SEPTEMBER 8 2009. MESSAGE BOARDS TYLER MOORE, OL, 6-6, 290, 5.0, CLEARWATER (COUNTRYSIDE), FLORIDA Tyler will be one of the most highly recruited prospects for the class of 2011. Tyler has offers from almost ever college power including the Huskers. Nebraska seems to have the edge, Tyler's father played at Nebraska and is related to former Husker All-American Jay Moore. Tyler is expected to commit by the end of September. Nebraska Ties "My dad went to Nebraska went to Nebraska and my mom also went to Nebraska for college. My top three right now are Nebraska, Ohio State and Michigan." Moore said "I like Nebraska and I always been a Husker fan. My cousin Jay Moore played at Nebraska. I haven't talked to him in a couple of years but I think if he were here he would say a couple of words. I have relatives that live in Omaha and we make it back (Nebraska) every year." Moore said Enjoyed Visit To Nebraska "It was fun, I met Bo and Barney Cotton. Barney is a good coach and real intense. Bo talked to me about the college game and told me to work hard. I like the coaching staff at Nebraska they are like family, really nice. I like how the program is going." Moore said Moore said Nebraska is his leader, "I like the cold weather a little bit." "Ohio State is a great program, the atmosphere. I haven't been to Ohio State but they have been to one of my practices." Moore said
  6. This was a fun game to watch but neither of these teams are top 10 material. I was really surprised that both defenses just looked flat slow at times. How many times did the QB's just loft it up there and the secondaries were like in slow motion and couldn't get to the ball? It was with both Miami and FSU. This reminded me of watching Pac 10 offensive battles...it may of well of been Oregon vs. Oregon St....great rivalry game that just goes back and forth with no real defenses to be seen. I think both Miami and FSU have seen the top defensive recruits out of Florida go to the SEC (i.e Florida, LSU, Alabama) and this is what they are left with. The defenses just were not that good tonight. I think OU will beat Miami by 2 TD's+.
  7. From Husker Journal: SEPTEMBER 3 2009. MESSAGE BOARDS HARVEY JACKSON, SAF, 6-2, 180, 4.5, MISSOURI CITY (HIGHTOWER), TEXAS Future Husker "They (Nebraska) are top right now. I'm visiting Nebraska this weekend. If I like them I will probably just commit." Jackson said "Nebraska was by first offer. I've been liking Nebraska since I was little and started to find out more about them. I liked how they did the option." Jackson said "They (Nebraska) have a good defensive coordinator and they run a front over there like our high school. I also like the tradition and the facilities are nice." Jackson said
  8. From Husker Journal: AUGUST 31, 2009. MESSAGE BOARDS DERRICK MALONE, DB, 6-2, 205, 4.5, COLTON, CALIFORNIA "Everyone is pretty much even," says Malone, "The people leading right now are probably Washington and Nebraska but I'm pretty much open to anybody." Washington First Offer "Washington was the first school to offer me, I like the that commitment and they are really interested and I might be able to play early there." "I like Washington's coaching staff and they are on a rebuilding team but I really like the program too. I haven't been up there yet but I will take a visit. Washington coaches want me to come after the football season so they can spend more time with me." Malone said No NFL Team "I like that they (Nebraska) are a great institution, they have a great football team. They don't have a NFL team, so the college is like the NFL team. The community really backs them up." Malone said "I get letters from Nebraska (Carl Pelini) I will probably call them this week to schedule an official visit. I'm not too sure what date I'm going. My teammate Jonathan Mack got an offer from Nebraska, we are trying to go up there together." Malone said Malone And Mack A Package Deal "That would be great, we grew up together and knew each other are whole lives. That would be really good to play together and we talk about Nebraska everyday." Interest From West Coast Teams "I still hear from California and UCLA." Malone said, "Both said they are waiting for defensive film because I also play running back. They want to see how I make plays for the first couple of games. I will probably do well and they will offer me later." "I've been a California fan, it's close to home. I grew up here (California) so I would love to play for my home state, location doesn't matter. I've talked to California (coaches) a little bit. They haven't shown much interest lately." Malone said "I really like UCLA." Malone said, "I went to their junior days. If UCLA offers they would be right up there. UCLA wants me to go to their home games, it's just around the corner."
  9. My thoughts are a nice heads up by Frost to keep Blount from making this really bad if he had gone into the crowd. This Blount guy may merit a dismissal from the team. As for the game, I liked Boise St. over Oregon anyway. No way were the Ducks going to beat them on the Blue Turf with Oregon under a first year head coach. I always like the way Boise plays. I am amazed at how good a job their O-line did in protecting their QB. Boise pretty much had their way with the Ducks on both offense and defense. Oregon has an interesting offense but it can definitely be exposed like tonight. I don't think the Ducks defense is all that good...Boise should have scored more but made some mistakes. I have never thought that their D-Coordinator Nick Aliotti was ever that good. No way should Nebraska lose defensive recruits to Oregon.
  10. There are some great games for week 1. I like Boise St. over Oregon. Boise St. has to win this game to continue to show that they can play with the big boys of big conferences. This is at home so a loss will sink them in a hole for the season. I like Oklahoma over BYU. I just can't see OU losing this one...BYU has firepower early but OU will match and exceed and pull away by the end. Bradford too much in the end. The two non-NU games I am most looking forward to are: Georgia vs. Oklahoma St. This is a tough call. Oklahoma State needs this game at home and they are ranked higher than Georgia. If Georgia wins, it will be SEC bash on the Big 12 time again since Florida beat OU in the championship. Okie St. needs to represent the Big 12. Alabama vs. VA Tech. Excellent game and whoever wins this one will be legitimate top 5 team. I am not sure what to expect but I am thinking a low scoring drag out fight that could hinge on who converts the big play. This is one that special teams will be needed for FG's and kick/punt returns. College Football is BACK!
  11. This one is pretty good, people.
  12. Mix in a good Friday night game...that is my only complaint. Never seems to be any good Friday night games. Maybe college football has a standing agreement not to mess with high school football since that is big time Friday night. I can live with it.
  13. Bad news for Meechicken: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4431717
  14. I want one of these young guys (Compton or Fisher) to blow someone up and get our D fired up!
  15. but switch Gilleylen and Kinnie.
  16. Thanks for the links. I am a big character guy and when you combine character and talent...man, watch out! Would love to see Bobby play for the Big Red!
  17. 6-foot-6, 290 Found this link. Would love to have this kid wear the N! http://blogs.tampabay.com/preps/2009/08/it...yler-moore.html It’s early, but Nebraska in front for Countryside offensive tackle Tyler Moore CLEARWATER -- Heralded Countryside offensive tackle Tyler Moore is only a junior, but the 6-foot-6, 290-pounder already has a list of favorite colleges. “Nebraska is in the lead and the other schools know it,” said, Brian Moore, Tyler’s father. “Florida is in it. Ohio State is in it. And even though they haven’t offered, Penn State is in it, and would probably leap frog a couple others because he’s a big Penn State fan.” It’s no surprise the Cornhuskers are in front. Brian Moore played tight end at Nebraska from 1983-85. But he’s not Tyler Moore’s only connection to Nebraska. Vince Ferragamo, the former Nebraska quarterback who led the Rams to the Super Bowl in 1980 (and beat the Bucs to get there), is Tyler’s great-uncle on his mom’s side. “He lives in California, but I give him updates (about Tyler),” Brian Moore said. If anyone can give Nebraska a run, it might be Florida. According to Countryside coach John Davis, Florida offensive line coach Steve Addazio said recently Moore could end up being the top offensive line prospect in the state for the Class of 2011 -- and perhaps even the best in the country. “I’ve talked to the Florida people, and if Tyler goes to a Florida school, if I have anything to say, it’ll be Florida over Florida State and Miami. I think he’s starting to feel the same way.” Even so, dad wouldn’t mind seeing son with a little red “N” on his helmet someday. “He can go anywhere he wants, but I’d definitely be happy if he goes to Nebraska,” Brian Moore said. “It’s a really neat environment up there. They live and breathe Nebraska football. He’ll be a celebrity as soon as he walks on campus.”
  18. From Husker Journal: JULY 26, 2009. PREP STAR MIKE MOUDY, OL, 6-7, 290, 5.0, CASTLE ROCK (DOUGLAS COUNTY), COLORADO Mike committed to Nebraska over Northwestern, Stanford, Kansas, Kansas State. Liked Husker Staff “I committed to Nebraska. I liked the coaching staff how they run their program up there. It really stood out to me. At the spring game I got see the coaches during the game and it was interesting to watch and got a feel how the players respected the coaches and stuff like that.” Moudy said “I like the state (Nebraska) I like the place (Midwest) where they are at. Lincoln is a great place and just the people up there. My parents are very happy, very pleased with my decision. They stand behind me that is really cool.” Moudy added Offensive Line Tradition “Nebraska is known for turning out some pretty strong linemen.” Says Moudy, “I was just really impressed the way Nebraska runs their offensive linemen. You see schools that just get the biggest player that can’t move at all just sit there and pass block. I was really impressed that Nebraska actually has their players established on the line instead of sit back and come to them.” “Barney Cotton (offensive line coach) is a great guy,” Moudy said, “I’m really impressed with him. I was up there for a team camp I got to be around him a little bit. He taught me some things. It was great he’s a great guy.” Bo The Deciding Factor “I like Bo Pelini a great guy. I had actually a half an hour with him. I went up there (Lincoln) and talked to him on my first visit. Bo has up standing values. That was ultimately what made my decision. The way Nebraska expects their players to accountable. A lot of coaches don’t say that they don’t really convey that point.” “I want to go to a school where they try to improve the character not only as a football player but character on your life.” “I still get letters,” says Moudy, “The phone calls have stopped. I told my coach I made my decision and he’s pretty much stirred everyone away and stuff like that.” Moudy added What A Work Out “We’re doing our conditioning camp right now. That’s been going for two months we basically do exhausted workouts. We start off early in the morning about 7 AM. We lift to about 8:30 AM then we run sprints, do jump rope, push sleds and hit the weights pretty hard to about 10:30 AM. That’s pretty much the work day.” Moudy said
