1. Plenty of people grow up as bad and worse than he did and with less opportunities than he had. He turned into a dope dealer and a murderer (he may not have pulled the trigger but he was in on the crime). I don't feel bad for him, or feel sad that he threw away his life. I'm glad he's in prison forever and will never have the chance to hurt another innocent person as long as he lives. Just one man's opinion.
2. I hope we are not one of the teams still interested. IMO, if a kid de-commits from us we should be out of it for him. Perhaps the only exceptions being those kids who are looked at as truly elite gamebreakers. I know we got Josh Williams back from sCUm a while back but I would still prefer to steer clear of kids like that in the future. Character thing.
3. Ok the first time I watched this I thought they said, "Don't forget your power tongue..." Lol! I was like, "That's right! So you can LICK IT!!!"
4. I think people should just act reasonable. That means that if you have a guy who is behind you and cannot see you try your best to stand only when everyone esle is standing or at the moments where most fans can be expected to stand. Turning and hitting or cursing out an older fan (or a younger one for that matter) should be met with an ejection or an arrest. If you stand when you have to and still show as much respect to the people behind you I think that is all that can be asked. On the flip side, if you are an older person (or a younger one for that matter) you should accept that some people are not going to sit down for 100% of the game and as long as it is reasonable, deal with and accept that you are no longer able to stand the way they do. When everyone stands up and the guy in front of you is forced to stand you simply cannot complain. It all boils down to being reasonable.
5. Very nice! Looks like a good player. On a side note, two of my sons love this pick up. Why? You will have to ask Joshua and Mitchell yourself!
6. We had more turnovers than points!!! And we had a TOUCHDOWN! Arrrrggggghhhhhhh!!!!
7. Awesome, I really was hoping he would commit to us!! GBR!!!
8. I saw in a post a while back that there would be 62' throwbacks available for $105 (or something like that) that you would be able to order customized with your choice of number and name on them but I haven't been able to find them anywhere. Anyone know where and/or when these are supposed to be available for order? My kid's bday was a few weeks ago and that's what he wanted so we have been waiting but I haven't seen anything online anywhere. Thanks in advance.
9. B)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Husker B @ Sep 30 2009, 01:58 PM) 479431</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec--> I'm pretty sure I can talk to anyone on this planet about how great my football team and school are, without the NCAA coming after the school. I don't represent the school, am not stuffing money in their jacket, and don't have anything to offer other than a kind word. The NCAA do not have thought police, yet. Message from the Nebraska Athletic Department Compliance Staff: On behalf of the University of Nebraska student-athletes, we are so thankful to have your support as we continue to build championship teams in every sport. Because of the ease in which people communicate online with each other today, we thought an educational message is appropriate to clear up any confusion that exists about contacting recruits. NCAA rules and regulations are complex to say the least, but one area that is completely straightforward is fan communication with recruits. If any fans, boosters, alumni (or any other supporters) of Nebraska has any contact (e.g., in-person, instant message, text message, e-mail, fax, etc.) whatsoever with a recruit there are could be serious consequences such as: The University of Nebraska would have an NCAA violation to report to the NCAA enforcement staff; The recruit would become ineligible to participate in athletics at Nebraska, and before any of our coaches could continue to contact the recruit, we would have to rule him/her ineligible and then seek reinstatement through the NCAA office; and The fan/booster/alumni involved could jeopardize their standing with the University of Nebraska athletic department. We know that fans of Nebraska are the most dedicated and supportive in the country so please if you have any questions about NCAA rules, contact our office at anytime at 402.472.2042 or e-mail compliance@huskers.com Thank you for helping Nebraska Athletics stand by our building blocks of TRADITION, TEAMWORK, and INTEGRITY. Josh White Director of Compliance University of Nebraska That comes right from this site. http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16811
10. That's disgusting. I know a guy from Missouri that once asked me, "Do you know what the best thing is about having sex with twenty seven year-olds?" I said, "No." He replied, "There's twenty of em'."
11. B)--> QUOTE(Husker B @ Sep 30 2009, 07:01 AM) 479187 bwaahahahahahahaha ok Warren Moon and the Oilers ran the Run-N-Shoot, 90's Gator teams ran the Fun-N-Gun, and now the Colorado Buffaloes have unveiled the Run-N-Hide offense.
12. I could be wrong here, but I think that if the NCAA got wind of NU fans specifically recruiting for their team they could levvy sanctions on the school. I doubt the sanctions would be severe in nature, but it is a rule for a reason (boosters and such would take advantage of the fan exception if it were not enforced). All it would take would be for some rivals or scout reporter to ask a kid what made him choose Nebraska and have him say that he loved the passion of the fans and how he had fans come up to him and lobby for him to go to NU at a Michigan State game. Does anyone have any idea what kind of sanctions something like this would garner? Perhaps that player would just become ineligible at NU or something like that? Anyone?
13. Ughhhhhh.... fine. I'm sure he is an outstanding young man, and if he were my son I would feel terrible for him and console him the best I could. It happened. Time to put the play and the game behind us and find a way to get better. GBR! Matt, all is well, you still bleed crimson like the rest of us.
14. I'm pretty sure O'Hanlon is the safety, which means he cannot let anyone get behind him. Sure kids make mistakes, but no one can say he made up for it. Closing speed? So what. Sack at the 11? So what. they were inside their own 20 and needed a gigantic pass to beat us. Screw the guys in the flats. If a guy makes plays like that he shouldn't be on the field, particularly at that point in the game.
15. Really? I've watched film on Givens so far and he has looked awful. He is starting but I have seen him manhandled and in two games called for holding five times. That's impressive? Rippy I haven't seen so I cannot make any sort of judgement on him.
16. Holy crap, I almost put myself in the ER laughing so hard at the Will Henry-Easter Island one!!! Awesome.
17. In all seriousness though, you guys who don't mind the burning of the N, really? It would be a lock down drag out fight if I saw someone burning the US Flag. Why? Because of what it represents. I don't like it because they burned our tradition with that N, they burned all my childhood memories of Jarvis Redwine, I.M. Hipp, Turner Gill, Roger Craig, and every other player from the past. I realize we are the classiest fans in the land but are we also becoming the softest?
18. What an outstanding young man. We would be lucky to have him, and not just because he's a good player. He would raise the caliber of character on any team.
19. If you finish watching that video and you DON'T have a smile that completely eats up your face, please cancel your membership to this site!!! GBR!!!!
20. Did this just become a Huskers/MTV Cribs combo thread?
21. Couldn't have said it better myself.
