  1. Oregons facilities are not better than Nebraska's, but by no means are Nebraska's head'n'shoulders above everyone elses anymore. They have all caught up. Granted Nebraska is still in the top Ten and probably always will be but, Oregon's facilites are pretty cool, as is the stadium, small but pretty impressive. Plus they have culture out here, you say culture aroud lincoln and eveyone thinks you are talking about something having to do with cows. Have any of you guys actually seen Oregon's facilities? I played football at Northwestern (Big Ten), and have visited Oregon's campus. I can say they are at least on par with NU's, if not better. Phil Knight (founded of Nike) sinks millions and millions of dollars into their athletic program. In Oregon's locker room, each player has his own recliner and flat-screen TV for watching game film. The entrance to the football complex looks like the lobby at the Waldorf-Astoria, complete with a waterfall. In addition, all of their equipment is top-of-the-line Nike gear. Because Oregon is one of the few schools in the nation with Nike "Experimental Status," Nike debuts all of their football equipment prototypes at Oregon. For example, Nike developed a cooling/heating system within a player's shoulder pads. On the sideline, the players would hook an hose into their pads and cool/hot air would filter through a system in their pads and regulate their body temperature. I can understand why kids would choose Oregon if they put a lot of weighting into a school's facilities when deciding. NU does have amazing football facilities, but I don't think any program can match the "wow" factor of Oregon.
  2. If Collins chooses Stanford over NU, it most certainly is for academic reasons. Stanford is one of the best universities in the world, and I am sure that Collins isn't deciding to go there because of their football program. If this is indeed the case, then I wish him luck, and applaud him for choosing a world-class education. As much as I would like him at NU, I don't see it happening.
  3. Hmmm let's analyze this shall we? We have a potential 17/18 year old kid coming on a board saying that he played along side (no proof mind you) a potential recruit saying that he basically sucks and that he is over hyped. Yet....Coaches like Stoops, Peleni, and Tressel basically must not know what the hell they are doing because a 17/18 year old kid is going around saying he sucks and that his video's of his playing time don't show the real Zach??!! Sorry but I would like to think these Coaches know more about recruiting and discovering talent then some so called "teammate" bashing a kid on a message board. I guess this stems back from all the "my sources say" debacle that was haunting the boards when the coaching change was taken place. I agree. Bro, your content has been great thus far and I enjoy your posts, but no need to deconstruct this guy's input by calling him a troll. There is a possibility what he says isn't true, but even then, is it that big of a deal?
  4. Great news for him, not so good news for us. Best of luck Zach.
  5. Sweet. I love the dreads. The more guys with dreads and 4.5 speed on our team, the better. Shake 'dem dreads
  6. In fairness, Darren McFadden is about 6'3".
  7. Welcome buddy, glad to have you.
  8. I agree it would be great to get him, but I remain skeptical. My bet is he signs with Michigan.
  9. Man, I hope we get him here!!!! It sounded earlier like he was a lock. What happened?
  10. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, David Grant makes my day. Congrats bro!
  11. I disagree with the posters above who think Lucky is an NFL-back. At this point in his career, he doesn't have the durability or the hard running ability to be a between the tackles back, nor is he shifty enough to make people miss on a consistent basis in the league. We all have seen how effective Reggie Bush has been in the NFL (mediocre at best), and Marlon is the style of back Bush is. Having said that, I am a Marlon Lucky fan and think that he can become an NFL back with proper development. I hope he elects to stay so he can work on his skill set.
  12. Myself as well. I think he would be a great prospect for us, and I hope Bo and the coaching staff can do a solid job on all of the recruits this weekend. I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I think that if the measurables are to be believed, then Eddie Brown could be the best athlete in our class, and contribute more on the field than any of his peers.
  13. No idea how valid this rumor is, but I've meet Josh before (at the NC when OU played FSU) and he was a very chill guy. Not sure on his qualifications as a coach, but he is very well mannered and respectful, for what it is worth.
  14. For those of us at work and unable to access audio, could someone please paraphrase what was said?
  15. Sounds promising, but if this recruiting season has taught me anything, it's not to get my hopes up too soon. Still, sounds like Watson is doing a good job.
  16. This was one of the best things Nebraska has ever done as a program, and it would be great to get it back.
  17. Man, I really wish we could have got McGuffie. He will be a star. His highlight tape is up there with Noel Devine's.
  18. That's great man. Maiden are true innovators of the metal genre, and all the bands following them owe some homage.
  19. On paper, these are ideal left tackle measurables. Hopefully we can get on this before Ohio State reels him in, like most prospects from OH.
  20. Set to visit on January 11th. I don't see why he doesn't have offers from every school in the nation. That size/speed combination (if correct) is just simply too rare to pass on.
  21. Uggh.....I guess it was to be expected. I just can't help but think that this dude will be a future top 5 pick. There is still a lot of time left, maybe we can sway him with a great season next year and a poor Ohio State season.
