  1. Considering the Huskers were 36th in the Coaches poll and 46th in the AP poll, chances are slim that they would move into the top 25 this week. I don't usually fall for conspiracy theories but.... considering the recent Husker love on behalf of Herbstreit and the fact the Huskers play on the ABC family on 27 Sep - my prediction is that they enter the top 25 the week of the VA Tech game.
  2. College football is a better place today because Dr Tom is back. Good luck Dr Tom - thanks for coming back.
  3. At Texas - Huskers would be the talk of College Football. We might even get some love from ESPN (ok, now I'm dreaming)
  4. Will is the greatest Husker of all time. All American, All Pro, Future Hall of Famer, and great citizen. The man has done it all.
  5. Fast rise for Coach Watson. TE coach to recruiting coordinator to offensive coordinator. I think Cally has a lot of confidence in Watson and I would not be surprised to see Watson play a larger role than Norvill did in the game day play calling. IMO
  6. I retract my post from 5 Jan 2007.
  7. Since none of these guys have won a game as the NU quarterback its hard to develop a list of things they need to improve on. Because the QB is the main position in the offense I'll say this about the NU offense in terms of improvements (or changes) I'd like to see: 1. Stretch the field more. Sure the WC offense is based on a short, controlled passing game, but I'd like to see the offense to throw deep more often. Sure this is a function of speed at the WR position and arm strength of the QB. 2. Include the TE more in the passing game. Of course this is dependent on having a quality player at the TE position (no shot at current players) and have a QB having confidence in the TE.
  8. From the article: "This was the one instance I've come in contact with that has all the elements I have talked about," Carroll said at a news conference on campus. "(Huizenga) has structured a program where the head coach has the entire say, from top to bottom. "It's a one-voice program. I don't think there are any other situations like that in the NFL." "This was the only time I've even thought about talking with anybody (from the NFL). Here's a situation where a guy would give a head coach the opportunity to do anything he wanted to do. He's an awesome guy." Wouldn't had just been simplier to say, "I've talked to the Miami Dolphins about their vacancy and I have no other comments." Instead Carroll goes on and on about what???
  9. I think when Frank finished #2 in the Minnesota Gopher search he felt that NU would lose Frank to another program if he didn't step down. If Frank had not gone looking for a HC job (and I'm not criticising him for doing so) NU might have gotten more years out of Coach Osborne. Just my opinion.
  10. I don't think next year's football season can come soon enough for me. It's going to be an exciting year.
  11. I attended the Louisville/West Virgina game in Louisville this year. I talked to a lot of Louisville fans. They all loved Petrino, but they all knew they would see him go somewhere else (either College or NFL).
  12. I remember this hiting the web after the Alamo Bowl victory over Michigan in 2005. I love his comment about NU being the football team of the old Soviet Union. My non-Husker friends used to refer to the Omaha World Herald as the "Pravda".
  13. I think only his agent knows for sure.
  14. Good luck Jordan! You are a man of courage.
  15. The north went 5-14 against the south (including the B12 CG) this year. So I think the north has a way to go in order to catch the south.
