  1. I'm gauging interest in a new custom conference dynasty for PS3. So far we have 7 slots taken. Can have up to 12. Basically the rules would be: 1) You can only choose a 1 or 2 star team (Teams are below). 2) We will have a hard-set advance schedule of every 4 days or once everyone is done. If everyone is done in one day, we'll advance then. If someone has made multiple attempts to contact a person to play a user game and no reply or they "no show" once, they will be set to auto pilot for the other user to play. 3) We will use the SEC conference and depending upon the # of users, we will try and split the users up by geography and try to have an equal number of users in each division. If the league isn't full, the remaining teams will be filled with 1 and 2 star teams. 4) Play will be on Heisman and recruiting on Varsity and each team will play at least 2 ranked teams for Non Conference a year, 2 Home and 2 Away. If you wish to have more ranked opponents, you can request so. 5) Once the league members are set, there will be a computer generated draft order and the draft will commence. This league is only for those who want a challenge of building a 1 and 2 star up. You will lose games to the CPU. This isn't for the faint of heart. IM me if you are interested. Here are the teams available: Akron Arkansas State Army Ball State Baylor Bowling Green Buffalo Duke Eastern Michigan Florida International Florida Atlantic Idaho Indiana Iowa State Kent State Louisiana Tech Marshall Memphis Miami Ohio Mid Tenn State Nevada New Mexico New Mexico State North Texas Northern Illinois Ohio Rice SMU San Diego State San Jose State Temple Toledo Troy Tulane UAB UL Lafayette UL Monroe UNLV UTEP Utah State Vanderbilt Washington State Western Kentucky Western Michigan Wyoming
  2. You gotta love the Griese-Brees Quarterback of the Year Trophy. Griese-Brees? Sounds like a wet fart to me... Also, I'm getting sick of Husker fans b*tching about every little thing when something doesn't go our way or someone says something negative about our team. Get over yourselves. Believe it or not, Nebraska is not the center of the universe, nor is it God's chosen land. Who cares if we got one trophy named after a Husker? Have we ever played a down in the Big Ten? Seems to me a majority of Husker fans would b*tch if someone handed them a wrinkly $100 bill instead of a crisp $5...
  3. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHA! Miss him? You have GOT to be shytting me! The whole point of this thread is to point out Niles 1 or 2 games are overshadowed by all the stupid a$$ mistakes that he keeps repeating. He is a senior for crying out loud. Quit making freshman mistakes. You Paul apologists are all the same, you point out the two good games he's had in his ENTIRE CAREER to say that makes up for the other 75% of the games he is either invisible or does something so dumb, like fumble a 75 yd TD when no one touches him.
  4. Well I'm not sure too many are getting after anyone for criticizing players...it's when people say stupid stuff like "you piece of s###" that we get sick of... That is fine. I have no problem calling out someone who personally attacks Paul or any other player. But we should be able to say that his play isn't cutting it and it's time for the coaches to find someone on campus that can catch and not fumble once a game. One good thing Callahan did was to not redshirt him, so that way the NCAA will do what the NU coaches will not do, remove him from the field. I got a sneaky suspicion he has naked pictures of somebody in his freezer. I'm confused then because you were preemptively very defensive. I guess I haven't seen anywhere where people have said you can't criticize a players play. I've seen enough threads about Niles to know what will be posted. Some Husker fans think you can't criticize ANY player for ANYTHING. These same fans generally refer to the players as "kids" - another pet peeve of mine. They are young men, not kids. I refer to all 19-20 year olds as kids because the way our society works childhood is a lot longer than it used to be. Playing football doesn't make you a man. Real life makes you a man/woman. I've seen the same threads as you and I guess I'm not seeing it. People have free reign to criticize play here as long as I've been here. That's the way it should be and the way it is. If you can sign up and fight for your country, you are no longer considered a child. That means you are a man. Now, whether they ACT like men is a completely different topic all together. I will be turning 30 this month, so it wasn't so long ago that I was 19-20 yrs old and I would have smacked you in the lip for calling me a child. Again, if I was acting like an adult at that time is a completely different story... How very "adult" of you You can't read. "AGAIN, IF I WAS ACTING LIKE AN ADULT AT THAT TIME IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY". Bottom line, they aren't children, they are young adults, young men, not kids. Period.

Again, if I was acting like an adult at that time is a completely different story... I had to get my parents permission to sign up for the army because I was still 17. Let's just say I had a lot of growing up to do. I'm also getting sick of people comparing these kids to soldiers. They. are. not. It's a completely asinine comparison that's totally irrelevant. Re-Read what I wrote. Not even close to comparing them to soldiers. Saying that if you can volunteer for the Army, you are no longer a "kid".
  6. How can you say he's a bust? Watson's playcalling completely handcuffed him today. Zone read right, left, center, punt isn't an offense. He threw the ball well today for the most part. The jury is still out on him, but get a new OC in and it could be a different story. Now, the zone read play works w/Martinez due to his explosiveness. Green obviously lacks that burst, so it is upon the OC to call plays to his QB's strengths. A novel idea for a Calla-Clown disciple, who insists on ramming that square peg through that round hole, a'la Joe Daily.

  10. After Saturday, you should take a screen shot of the score and add that to your signature. Probably read something like 77-0. Just like old times sake. Your stupid Cyclowns ruined my first Husker game when I was 12 yrs old. 19-10 still makes me want to puke. That said. I will root for you to win the Big 12-2 next year. I would root for KU, but they are decades away from having a competitive team. Crow tastes like crap.
  11. Burkhead will be suspended for a helmet to hand hit. He should have put his helmet somewhere else as to not hit the ISU player in the hands w/his facemask. Somewhere Ed Cunningham is saying, "That is awful. Burkead was obviously targeting the ISU LB with his helmet. I hope my brother, er Commissioner Beebe does something about this."
  12. I don't get why being a Husker fan automatically means you can not say a player is obviously not good enough to play. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. For every good play Niles has, he has a bone head play that almost or does cost us the game. Time for a change at kick off return. I'll take someone who NEVER houses a kick off, but NEVER fumbles the damn thing either. How many times has he fumbled on a kick off this year? At least 3 that I can recall and that isn't including the Punt Returns, of which he has already lost his spot. It is common sense to take a knee 6 yds deep in the end zone, but he's arrogant and tries to make a play. Even if he didn't fumble the damn ball, we would have started the drive at the 13 yd line. STUPID STUPID STUPID. So before you "Holier than Thou" Husker fans start trashing me, how many more fumbles will he have to have and mistakes he'll have to make before you come down from that Ivory Tower? The juice just isn't worth the squeeze. Thank you, Niles Paul, for pouring your heart and soul into the Husker program. We know that you mean well, but enjoy your free education and the view of the football game from the sidelines. Hopefully you have good grades, because there is no way you will be playing football on Sundays.
  13. I'd love it if they moved it to Saturday so I don't have to use 1 of my vacation days every year so I can watch the game. Not everyone gets the day after Turkey Day off.

  15. Um...Roy was busy butt-raping the Mizzou Defense...did you watch the game??? Personally I'm glad NU finally stuck w/a hot back instead of forcing the "split carries" and getting neither back in a rhythm.
  16. Anyone have a link to watch this? I looked all over ESPN and found just about everything else.
  17. Nebraska 27 UTerus 17 215 yds rushing 183 yds passing If we turn the ball over more than once, we will lose the game. In 2006, I predicted Terrence Nunn would lose the game for us and low and behold his fumble cost us the W. Niles Paul is T-Nunn's twin brother...
  18. Some of you will NEVER be happy with any score or stats. These kids are making huge strides on both sides of the ball from game 1 to game 2. Focus seems to be a problem but other than that try sitting back and enjoying the win. Bitching about players and coaches are not helping the kids cause here. They read this board and constant negativity focused on individuals sometimes can reflect their pay on the field. 3 Things... 1) The football players are not kids. They are men. They are 18-22 yr old MEN. If you are old enough to die in war for your country, you are no longer a child. Quit saying they are kids. 2) If you think the team reads these message boards and it negatively affects their play you are nuts. You obviously have never played competitive sports in your life. When I played, if someone said I couldn't do something, or that I sucked at something, I worked my a$$ off to prove that idiot wrong, not pout and feel sorry for myself. And if our players DO feel the way you are saying, then we have much bigger issues going on than Niles 'fumble' Paul. 3) Niles will make a play to win us a game this year, but he will also make a bone head play to cost us a W. You can take that to the bank. That is the thing that gets people so upset w/Paul. They see all the ability in the world, but his head is so GD big that he hot-dogs it and doesn't think his fundamentals are important.
  19. Niles Paul = Terrance Nunn. Superb athlete. Has a habit of making incredibly bonehead plays/turnovers/penalties at the most inopportune times. Both have ego's the size of Memorial Stadium. God doesn't like cocky people. Maybe the fumbles, drops, penalties, etc are God's way of trying to get Paul to be more humble. Not working very good... In closing. Offense looks explosive, but we have to take these two wins w/a grain of salt. 1st test is Saturday. We'll have an idea of what to expect come K-stink and Texa$$ games in October. My prediction - NU 27 Washington 17
  20. Was that before or after he bashed us for being a Right-Leaning state? Robert Smith is a tool bag and I have hated him ever since he started making smarta$$ remarks about Republicans in his shows. I don't remember the specific remarks, but I can remember thinking "I'm watching college football live, not MSNBC". Him picking us to win the NC shows how stupid he is. While I want us to win every game and think we can, the team just isn't quite there yet. Especially with it looking like we are going with a RS Freshman at QB. 10-2 regular season and a Big 12 Title is the ceiling this year. I hope to be eating crow! GO BIG RED!
  21. That QB looked an awful lot like Colt McCoy...
  22. Shhhhhhh. You guys hear that? It's the sound of crickets from all the "Cody Green is the best QB in the world" people. They are now waiting for Lee to struggle so they can start chanting "Taylor Martinez is the best QB in the world". Whomever the back up QB is at Nebraska is always the next coming of Frazier, Gill, Crouch, etc. That said, Green has a long, LONG way to go before I'll be comfortable with him as the starting QB. Having another year in the system should do wonders and am not ready to write the guy off after 2 starts in his true freshman year.
  23. 09-03-11 - Non Con TBD 09-10-11 - Fresno State 09-17-11 - Washington 09-24-11 - @ Wyoming 10-01-11 - Indiana 10-08-11 - BYE 10-15-11 - @ Illinois 10-22-11 - Michigan St 10-29-11 - @ Ohio St 11-05-11 - Minnesota 11-12-11 - @ Wisconsin 11-19-11 - @ Iowa 11-25-11 - Penn State 12-03-11 - CCG Location TBD I see one of our existing Non Cons being rescheduled to fill the 9-3 slot and going to a 9 game Conf Schedule. I don't know how many of the existing Big Ten schools currently have 4 non cons already scheduled, so that may make the 9 game Conf Schedule hard to do right away. Perhaps a deadline of 2014 or something like that and the Conf Schedule goes to 9 games, giving teams the time to buy out/change venue etc to accommodate the 9 game Conf Schedule. Most of the programs will try to always have 7 home games a year, thus every other year they will have 5 road games by default. I do see us being in a division with Penn State somehow. It'll be interesting and can't wait! My preference is to have a Michigan or Ohio State for the 1st home conference game, but I doubt that will happen. GO BIG RED!
  24. WTF is going on here? I feel like I'm living in the twilight zone. ESPN has been showing NU some love lately and good publicity. I love the exposure. GO BIG RED!!
  25. Dream scenario. 12-0 OU vs 12-0 NU for a trip to the National Championship on the line...Just like it should be...Only thing that would make it sweeter was if the NC was being played in the Orange Bowl... GO BIG RED!!
