  1. Wow…that’s a lot of death. Also, obligatory meme is obligatory:
  2. No I’m there with you. The officiating has been decidedly one-sided for some time now. The only reason these two calls were overturned was because 1) they were blatantly wrong calls, and 2) the officials remembered which stadium they parked at. Having said that, we should be used to that since it’s been that way for some time now (ahem, Big XII Title Game) and our teams should be coached to overcome and persevere, regardless of s****y officiating.
  3. Depends. What kind of Runza are we talkin’ here?
  4. Agreed. And the rumor is that She Hulk is littered with them throughout the series, which would be cool. I'm just hoping the other persistent rumor of Deadpool making a 4th wall breaking cameo with Jen pans out.
  5. For old school fun, Baseball Stars on a NeoGeo (or NES if you were poor like me as a kid). Used to have summer leagues playing that game. Back to the topic at hand, though...anyone else catch the Eternals and Wolverine references in Episode 2? And glad that we're gonna see a World War Hulk movie at some point. The messenger from Sakkar pretty much confirms that's how Disney is getting around their 'Paramount' problem with Hulk: make the Hulk a co-star (a la Avengers) and bring in She Hulk, Abomination, and have someone (maybe Bilbo Baggins?) play Red Hulk since William Hurt caught an acute case of death.
  6. Um...excuse me Sir, but this is a Wendy's She Hulk thread.
  7. This. I can even see us going 3-0 and beating Oklahoma (really stealing one from them), and then going 0-fer during the B1G stretch because we're so mismatched up front. Hell, even the Friday night Rutgers game looks intimidating because Schiano gets his teams to play good, basic, fundamentally sound football. It's not sexy, but it's worked--twice. Oklahoma is so different than what we deal with in the B1G, it's why we were able to hang. It's like we're built to play Big XII football with a pass first, run when you remember it's in your playbook offense and a sieve of a defense.
  8. If Callahan would have had the cojones to fire his buddy and bring in a halfway competent DC, he'd still be our coach to this day and we'd have skins on the wall.
  9. And/or Frank Solich and Bo Pelini, just for one season to end the curse(s). Hell, bring Callahan back to coach O-Line for that matter. Let's just make it a greatest hits package and see if something sticks.
  10. I think you mean disadvantage, but I pick up what you're laying down. I would like to add C) if you show strength and progress and help get kids consistently in the NFL, you'll get kids coming from afar regardless of scheme or NIL. Look at 'Bama as a case-in-point. That state is a s***hole that only looks good when it's compared to Mississippi and Louisiana. But kids flock to 'Bama (and occasionally Auburn) because of success and coaching (and pre-NIL, the bagmen).
  11. Are you okay? Do we need to call someone to talk you off that ledge? And we will be good again. We have all the hallmarks that the top programs have. The fact that we haven't been back towards the top is an aberration due to poor AD leadership and decision-making. Trev already has us in a good place come October if Frost doesn't make with the goods...
  12. I sure hope by being in the B1G we don’t face any other predominately rushing-oriented teams this season. /s
  13. By then the BTN will be able to fly them around. In coach.
  14. I’ll suggest that Nebraska goes 7-5, and is a few boneheaded plays from going 9-3 and winning the West outright. It’s enough to buy time for Frost, show progress, and go back to the transfer portal to shore up areas we need help in for a 2023 campaign. Dude, I’m sorry. I’m on my phone and the drunk emoji was cut off. That’s my bad.
  15. I keep hearing this tired refrain, and it’s just wrong. There’s plenty to do here, especially if you’re in Lincoln, Omaha, or the Tri-cities area.
  16. Agreed. But there were at least ways of getting lectures from classes that didn’t mandate attendance—usually you could bum a recording from the guy with the recorder for a fee.
  17. Is one and a half hours even long enough to get through one of the coach's lines? Oh well...it's our first fan day, so may as well make the best of it.
  18. Most of those sports also have smaller rosters and already schedule so if, for example, you're playing at Indiana, you play at Pur-f****g-due (or NW, or Illinois) or another close school later that week so you only travel once. Yes it's more school missed, but the kids are responsible for getting their academic affairs in order before the trip, last I checked, and for the most part they do a good job of it.
  19. Does anyone here teach in Nebraska? Needing help navigating the state site and getting answers. If you'd prefer to PM so you don't out your profession on the board, that's cool.

I dunno...maybe it's just me, but it's kind of a cluster**** process for new teachers to get certified in the state...

The state isn’t taking phone calls from that number unfortunately. It just has a message saying to email…

…regardless, the state seriously needs someone to clean up their sites and processes ASAP.

  20. Can't disagree with Callahan and how past players/staff were treated...but some of that was out of Callahan's hands to a degree and came from the AD, I'd wager. Remember--we just severed ties with our past by getting rid of Solich, and many of the previous players/staff were critical of the change being made. If you're looking to keep team cohesion and focus on the future, having naysayers grumble about how it was done before in your locker room doesn't help. I think if Callahan was successful in his own right and won a Big XII title and/or NC, then past players/staff would have been welcomed back in.
  21. UNLV. Move the B1G Championship Game to the Raiders' new stadium. Suddenly everyone loves the new addition and ticket sales for the title game go through the roof. Add a burlesque show at halftime and you've got yourself a ratings and fan winner.
  22. Riley, yes. I still contend that had Callahan got a replacement for Cosgrove, he'd still be our coach to this day--the offense was that good, as was special teams. Just the defense was *SO* bad...
