  1. And turn around and complain about high gas prices the next day. Also, I think folks are forgetting that the last overseas game we played was a catalyst for great things to happen in the program. Great team building opportunity, to say the least.
  2. You gotta have the Heisman winners on there, at least in the foreground. Suh could hang with them--we all know he was the only Hesiman candidate worthy of that trophy that year, if you go by the original intent of its offering.
  3. And there's no reason that the Ag research dollars *shouldn't* be counted. OTOH, it also helped UNL (et al) realize we rely too heavily on ag research and we need to diversify. You're talking about the network that is still overpaying Texass for BevoTV.
  4. There was already talk some time ago of Fox adding a second B1G channel during basketball and football season, and the channels would split broadcasts by division. There’s more than enough content to justify a second channel…but I could see Fox just relegating more stuff to BTN+.
  5. Texas drove the bus for that vote though, partially in retaliation for leaving the Big XII. As for Oklahoma not being AAU, they are a Carnegie 1 school, and they were already vetted years ago when Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, aTm, and Missouri/Colorado (can’t remember which one) we’re going to join the B1G as a package deal (until aTm got greedy and scuttled the whole deal). And until Oklahoma’s President resigned, they were firmly in the B1G camp because they saw the success Nebraska had academically since joining. As soon as he left, the fans got their way and are joining the SEC…which does nothing for them academically, but when is the last time anything positive academically has been associated with Oklahoma?
  6. We *were* on the list and Delaney was aware of the AAU changes that would kick us out (namely the AAU ignoring ag-related research dollars in the totals to determine if you’re doing your fair share). It’s why we made them kick us out instead of quietly drop out (think Syracuse did this instead of being kicked out for the same reason IIRC). Nothing changed, really, and we still being in lots of research dollars. Plus the B1G Educational Consortium helps too. But AAU is really a strong suggestion anymore at best.
  7. I’m sorry, but I just don’t get this move—someone help me understand it please. Is it just because he wanted to play closer to home? Was he asked to take on a role he didn’t want or wasn’t comfortable with? Or is this something else? Liked watching him play and was excited for his future here…
  8. Don’t sleep on Greg Schiano. He got Rutgers up and going once, he’ll do it again. And possibly next season too.
  9. To be fair, Obama was obstructed by the GOP (because of his race) by McConnell and the GOP. It wouldn't have mattered if Obama had the cure for cancer and was going to distribute to all Americans, they would have voted no because it was something Obama wanted. And I do recall there being a handful of attempts to update the tax code so that the very wealthy pay their fair share, but no GOP member will vote to raise taxes because why bite the hand that feeds?
  10. That's where establishing a winning system and pedigree come into play. If our staff can show they can develop players that perform at the next level (e.g. NFL, XFL, USFL, LFL...whatever) then you'll have kids that will be willing to ride pine because the coaches they're playing for have a proven track record. Yes, there will be some kids that always take the short picture and want/need to play right away, and that's okay. These kids come from different backgrounds with different needs and situations/concerns. Kids that take the long view, though...when our coaches start proving it on the field and in the next level then we'll have more kids stay that we'll be able to develop. First things first...this program needs to get back to a winning season, ASAP.
  11. Well...that's some good company to keep...right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, I can't be the only one that *STILL* sees this thread title pop up and thinks "oh s*** a former player or poster died"
  12. Ditto. The stinger was interesting, to say the least. As was Disney walking back the 'Series Finale' declaration and calling it a 'Season Finale'. I have no doubt we'll be getting a Moon Knight Season 2: Electric Boogaloo soon. Would be a great vehicle to include more of the "monster" side of the MCU...like Blade, Werewolf by Night...
  13. At least not this year...6-6, yes. Winning the B1G West? Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffttttt...
  14. These are the same mentally ill people that support the Jan 6 domestic terrorists and openly hope for violence against Biden. It’s beyond lame.
  15. This is a particularly scary story...especially when you factor in the number of right-wing extremists that have been openly talking about revolution.
  16. You do realize that the SEC (and remnants of the SWC--see Pony Excess and SMU) have been doing this for decades already, yes? Doesn't mean it's right or good for the sport that it's out in the open or happening at all--just saying this is not a new development, just one that's been exposed to the world and "legalized".
  17. For a team that prides itself on its Academic All-Americans...yeah, this is a big miss that needs to be fixed ASAMFP.
  18. Let's dump Illinois and pick up Washington
  19. What's troubling is how Trump and Putin share the same playbook (though Trump's is really more of a coloring book with Kindergarten words).
  20. (Politics and Religion Board): *clears throat loudly*
  21. I'm sure Tucker Carlson will call this whole thing a false flag operation and suggest they're just burning fuel to stay warm.
  22. I'm sure someone will spill it sooner or later.
