  1. I believe this will be the main focus as establishing relationships with kids who are already committed to or leaning towards other programs this late in the process seems unrealistic.
  2. Like I said, he had a substantially larger amount of schollies to offer than they do now. Only 85 allowed now, back in the 90's it was upwards of 100 I believe or more. So you could offer instate guys and not have to worry if you have any left over for the out of state premium talent. Not that I agree or disagree with your point, but here are the numbers as quoted by this article.
  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkansas_Razorbacks#Football Good ole Wiki confirms it. I see no mention of Grobe. Wikipedia is a publicly edited encyclopedia so if you see something written there that is not factual and/or does not have a source, then you can delete it. Apparently someone has done just that:
  4. Interception return? Special teams? Illegal contact?
  5. For color guy for the Big Ten network, yes. For a coaching job, none that I have heard of. Seemed pretty content with the TV gig last I saw him.
  6. If you are looking for facts, steer away from wikipedia in the future, it isn't 100% accurate, FYI. Then fix it!
  7. It's comments like this one that make me love HuskerBoard. Yeah all the bad students -- the rioters -- are from LA and Texas. Right?
  8. Your right but thats a kinda hard thing to quess on. Really though after the year most of them had the only one I can see leaving is Lucky. Man I hope he stays! Lucky seems most likely, but this year there is a glut of good RBs in the draft. Any player who can run a good 40 time might consider leaving for the NFL. Even some who can't. There may also be transfers.
  9. And those stats include 2 OT games that went 3 OTs (both losses). That's about 20 points extra per game.
  10. Love to have him as D Line coach or maybe even DC (awesome recruiter), but no way he gets a sniff for a head coaching job anytime soon.
  11. You're exactly right, DC (BTW, are you in the nation's capital, or does the DC stand for something else?) There must be 15 different "which bowl do we go to/do you want to go to a bowl" threads on this board, it must drive the mods nuts. But I posted this a while back (in yet another bowl thread), and it is still valid today, except for the part about Oregon being in the NC hunt. The below makes the assumption that KSU doesn't win another game to become bowl eligible, we beat CU, and OSU wins one more to join the 6-win list...... The conference is almost assured of getting an at-large BCS bid, so remove OU (NC game - they will pick OU over a 12-1 Oregon) and Mizzou/KU. The pecking order for Big XII tie-ins - other than BCS - is Cotton (conference #2) Mizzou/KU - whoever doesn't get the at-large BCS Holiday (conference #3) Texas Gator (option to take the #4 team) OSU Alamo (#4/#5) OSU if the Gator doesn't take the #4, Tech if they do Insight (#6) Tech if the Gator doesn't pick, A&M if they do (A&M has the tie-breaker over us amongst 3-5 conference teams) Independence (#7) A&M if the Gator doesn't pick from our conference - us if they do Texas (#8) us if the Gator doesn't take OSU, otherwise this could be left open because if we become bowl eligible, that means that CU isn't, and KSU won't win another game this year, so they are out. With 8 bowl eligible teams, and the BCS taking two, that leaves 6 to fill 7 tie-ins Sun (#?) this bowl also has the option to pick from the Big XII - doubtful since we will either fill our max or leave one empty Nice work. Where is the Insight played? They might be pretty interested in us. Here are the current projections from CNN SI. Has us in the Independence after we beat Colorado. Projects Kansas in the Gator as he did his projections before Oregon lost. Also has KSU and Okie State becoming bowl eligible which might be a stretch as Okie State has to win at Baylor (or win at Oklahoma) and KSU has to win at Fresno State (or beat Missouri). So I guess the Alamo might even be a possibility. With every possible team in the Big 12 becoming eligible and no at large bid, we are still in, so after beating Colorado, we are almost certainly in a bowl of some sort. Also one thing I always forget is that conference standings are not used to determine the Big 12 No. 5 team. It is all in the bowl's preferences of the available teams so we might be picked over another 6-6 team that has beat us or has a better record in league.
  12. Just when I think these rumors can't get more ridiculous This one TOTALLY redeems them! I for one welcome our new robotic overlord.
  13. Ah the College of Coaches approach? Well, it's only been tried once, so who's to say it won't work for us. I'm sure everyone will be very patient with the unorthodox approach. Instead of having weekly consultants how about Survivor-style competition: Nebraska's Next Head Coach.
  14. what a complete joke this would be if glen mason got hired. you cant get any more mediocre than the minnesota golden gophers under glen mason Sure you can. Fire him and replace him with someone who doesn't know how to coach. What's that? They already did? How'd that work out for them?
  15. Oh crap. Say it ain't so. Our next coach is Glen Mason. Well he definitely will get you a running game.
  16. He tore it up, 22-154-3 TDs, against one of the top defenses in the state. Sounds like the current coaching staff is spending the bye week in-state looking to pick up guys they might have overlooked. Maybe he'll be one.
  17. Buda! Buda! Buda! I still hate Morningside though at the time I had no idea what a Morningside was. (Ok so I still don't.) Anyway, he might have been a better choice than Solich.
  18. Levorson isn't even the best player on the team. The Jr. Running Back is. He sounds terrible. FYI:
  19. Right, the number one tradition I'm concerned with is winning.
