  1. Welcome Donovan! Looking forward to a few of these in the coming years.
  2. That's what I'm talking about! Welcome Braylon! Can I get a "HELL YEAH"?!
  3. This one is big, IMHO. Welcome Kenny, I'm looking forward to seeing you in the Scarlet and Cream!
  4. Holding my breath. Ya never know. Look no further than Brion Carnes.
  5. All the questions about competitive fire aside, I'm glad we got him. I vaguely remember being a little unsure about where I should go to college when I was 18, I don't think things have changed so much since then. I didn't have 20 people calling me everyday asking about it either. I would think that adds a little pressure to a huge decision that a high schooler has to make. So glad he nutted up and is going to add a lot of much needed QB depth. WELCOME BRION!
  6. Heading to the doctor to cut some skin cancer off of my face. Can't wait.

  7. Aaaahhh. OK Thank You. I appreciate it HuskerNLimbo. I would agree with statement then. OT is very high priority. Thank You, carry on.
  8. I would still rank Hardrick 2nd behind Owa, that man is an IMPACT player. Hardrick is also an immediate fix for an immediate need at OT. People say that Cooper is a big need for the class, and I agree. But Yoshi is the BIGGEST need and it is not even close. Who or what is "Yoshi"? I only know of a Nintendo game of the same name. Is this some sort of vernacular for a position on a football team? I have never heard of any position being called "yoshi". Grammar seems to suggest someone's name is Yoshi, however, deciphering grammar on the internet is not the best way to try and understand one's intended meaning. I don't recall any Yoshi being recruited by anyone. I have heard of Yoshimura exaust pipes, though. I had some on a Kawasaki KZ1000 that I had back in the day. Can someone help a brotha out?
  9. Wow. Time warp. So, Caveman... what's the weather like this evening?
  10. I lived in Austin for 20 years, my wife is a Texas alum, I dislike Saban, I will root for the Short Tusks.
  11. O'Hanlon. Dillard and Amukamara honorable mentions.
  12. Why Burkhead looked so good? Because he's a bad azz. Really looking forward to seeing him play in the future.
  13. I never thought he should be canned. Does he get any credit from last year? or is it just what have you done for me lately? His playcalling earned 450yds/game in 2008. 281 passing and 169 rushing. 919 plays totaling 5860 yds. 6.38 yds/play. 2009(pre Holiday bowl): 317yds/game. 141 rushing and 175 passing. 803 plays totaling 4123 yds. 5.13 yds/play. Both seasons represent 13 games. Passing went way down(torn tendon anyone?) Rushing went up, marginally. over 100 less plays in 13 game span. I think our whole coaching staff did a good job of finding ways to win, getting the players to buy in and believe and give maximum effort. Va Tech, Ia St. and UT all could have(should have?) been Ws. I saw plenty of mistakes in those games that cost us those wins. I don't think blame can be laid at Watson's feet for Va Tech(blown coverage late) or Ia St. (fumblerooski gone awry). Big 12 championship? I've been keeping my eye on the grassy knoll, somethings up there.(puff of smoke) Possible nefarious conference shenanigans? There was one second left, but so many other things missed(I think Suh is still being clutched by UT center), to have an eagle eye on that raises my bullsniffometer. Anyway, long post longer, I think Mr. Watson should be retained and believe that our offense next year will be more akin to 2008 than to 2009. A healthy and deeper O-line will solve many issues.
  14. Friday's forecast looks like 65*, partly cloudy. Saturday: 60* and sunny. Sunday: 60* partly cloudy.
  15. Hey Guys! I'm a golf professional at an upscale daily fee golf course in Keller, TX. We are located about 30 minutes from the "Death Star", as it's affectionately known around these parts. Sky Creek Ranch is running a special for Huskers Only. We will waive our advanced booking fee for Nebraska fans that are looking for something to do while in the DFW area. Mention that you saw this on Huskerboard and make a tee time. Wear some Husker gear when you come out to play and we will throw in a sleeve of Pro-V1s. 50% off rental sets for the travelling Husker, if a tee time is made before Dec. 1st. We are going to treat the Husker golfer right all weekend, Friday, Saturday before the game and Sunday as well. Our rates are $79 plus tax Friday, Saturday and Sunday. $59 plus tax Monday through Thursday. Fee includes green fee, cart fee and range balls. Sky Creek Ranch is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. layout that is in immaculate condition right now. We have bent grass greens that are the among the best in DFW, private clubs included. Check out www.skycreekranch.com to get a preview of our facility. (817) 498-1414 #2 is the number to the golf shop. We are also close to Southlake, where there is some very nice shopping in Southlakes' town square. Drop the non-golfers off there to shop, drive on down another 5 minutes to the course and tee it up before Mr. Suh and company tees off on Pony McCoy. GO HUSKERS!
  16. Wow! I think he'll get an idea just how passionate Husker fans are. If he likes attention, I'm betting he's getting more than he bargained for. I'm curious if being close to his girlfriend is the main reason for him moving to Lincoln. And if it is, can we get her a scholarship, somehow? Does she play volleyball or softball or basketball? Hell, do cheerleaders get schollys?
  17. Born Feb 23, 1937 in Hastings, NE. HAPPY 72nd Birthday Mr. Osborne. That mold wasn't just broken when you were born, it was completely obliterated. Thank You for all you do, have done and will do for the state and the University of Nebraska.
  18. From what I've read in local papers, he didn't start for Trinity after he got hurt. Even when he got healthy, they started a junior named Tevin Williams. He still got PT in games, just didn't start. He did well when he got the chance. Trinity has pretty good trench warriors, though.
  19. Texas has about 2 spots left for '09 and they already have Chris Whaley committed along with being 4 deep, even after Jamaal Charles left. In addition, Texas doesn't really go for the big bruisers anymore. The last one that they had was Ricky Williams and he was recruited by the former regime.
  20. When I think of the authorities around the whole Dallas metro area, Integrity does not come to mind. In fact, integrity is pretty low on the list of things I do think of. Corruption and Abuse are two words that do come to mind, though. Things have been known to get somewhat twisted in the process of seeing what shakes out. Pool Chalk or Cocaine...... I won't comment on race relations, I only lived there for 3 years. I wish him luck and hope that he's a good kid. He could really help the team and future Texas recruiting.
  21. Texas has a special position on their staff specifically to handle all high school coach contacts, as well as be a liason between the university and the recruit when he committs and eventually signs. Ken Rucker : Director of High School Relations and Player Development. He's not technically a coach. Almost all of the high school coaches have a relationship of one kind or another with UT/Mack Brown. So the kids hear "Good job, Kid. Ya might make the Longhorns someday playin' like that!" So Mr. Rucker has contact with state high school coaches, coordinates camps, knows the coaches who know the players. So it's like they all(most) grow up wanting to be shorttusks and Mack chooses the ones he wants. That is known to high school players, of which there many in Texas. "You better sign soon, there's four more waiting for the chance I'm giving you, now." Next thing you know, Texas has only 5 or 6 spots left for '09.
