If you're right and TO does pick Gill, I think it will take several years for the team to be BCS-level competitive. I believe someone like Kelly could get things turned around sooner.

I would be happy with Gill, Pelini, or Kelly, but I have to admit I get the most excited thinking about the real longshot guys like Cowher or Rodriguez.

Ah no I'd say the lackluster defense cost us that game. We scored 39 against KU & 51 against CU. Is there anyone who can look at those numbers while realizing we LOST those games and not KNOW that the offense did its job while the defense didn't even show up? Obviously the offense overall did a good job in the game...and the defense did not. However, if those picks aren't thrown, we win the game, period. They gave the buffs quick scores and all the momentum. If we could have mounted any sort of drive, they would have given up.

One thing I would love for the Huskers to do regarding scheduling is develop a non-conference game with a big-name team where we play each other every year. It could be a regional team, like Iowa (mentioned above) or a team we have a history with like Florida State or Miami.

I highly doubt he's leaving the NFL just yet, but it would definitely be worth a call. His offense with his pop's D would be just what the doctor ordered.

While I love the Ganz and would have his babies if that were physiologically possible, his interceptions can't be overlooked. They really cost the Huskers the game against CU. Maybe that is the real reason he was the backup?

Whoever comes in as the next coach of the Huskers should be pretty excited with the talent he has to work with. Maybe he should re-hire Cally as recruiting coordinator.
