I understand what you're saying, BUT Brad Smith was a returning starter who already had a ton of meaningful game reps. Therefore he was able to coach Daniel as you suggest. Lee is in the same situation as Green, neither has meaningful game reps. Why would the coaches expect him to coach Green when he's trying to get acclimated as well?

this is another of the criticisms of the Mack Brown approach to recruiting. They miss out on these guys who for whatever reason (injury, behind seniors, etc.) didn't contribute as underclassmen and have huge senior years. There are also those who disappoint enough during their senior years that they get downgraded, but Texas is pretty much on the hook to take them. Hopefully Onyechi is one of those guys that Texas misses out on. Then their loss will be our gain.

My view is that he(it) is a blow-up doll, not a mascot.

Consider me officially worried if Watson is comparing Lee to Ochs. Time in the system and the maturity level at Lee's age should (hopefully) make a big difference, of course. But, if our "raw but talented" QB is only able to get 11 total TD's this year, and tosses nearly as many ints, it will probably be a pretty dismal year. No lie. If Watson was hoping to instill confidence in the husker faithful, that comparison may not have been the best to make in regards to Lee's overall ability. Hopefully the comment was to imply that the potential is there and that it will turn out better than Ochs did at sCUm.

Agree. It's not even close to being as virulent as first reported. Just something to keep the masses living in fear. All of the REAL big bads aside, MRSA is a bigger concern IMO.
