  1. I agree. The difference is that with all of the other stuff that he has done he has to be able to control himself better than that. Obviously he can't. And then to come back with that? Yep, it was a sh**ty call but that can't happen. And now his vaunted defense just allows another score. Time to go!
  2. I can't take it anymore! The interview and lack of class at the half. Yeah, it was a dumb question but for him to act like that is unreal. He obviously has no understanding of or intention to show any class. We deserve better! Then to follow it up with that display of sh#t on the sideline that cost his team 15 yards? I'm done with him! Un-effing-believeable the guy!
  3. The fact that this is even being discussed is a joke. Taylor Martinez is our best quarterback, period. When he is healthy he deserves to start. His stats are as good or better than anyone else, he has the experience, and it is the right thing to do. Pelini needs to be really careful here. You start doing up seniors like he would be doing to Martinez and it will hurt recruiting a ton. Now, I'm in the camp that believes and hopes that Pelini won't be here next year. Sure, if they win out he stays but the chances of that are pretty slim. We've got the tough part of the schedule left.
  4. Correct, of all the games State has played in route to 2 summit league titles and 2 NCAA tournament births, this was their super bowl... In an empty arena... To a team selected to finish last in the big ten.. Other than that, I agree, this means nothing. Well, I'm a fan of both teams (ok, Husker football, don't follow BB much, haven't given me a reason too) so I may be able to lend a little more to the discussion. Yes, it was a closed scrimmage in an empty gym and it doesn't mean anything as far as the season goes. Nobody knows who played. Maybe SDSU played their best players and NU used it to evaluate young talent? Maybe it was the exact opposite. Doesn't matter. One thing that I can tell you is that SDSU has a very good basketball team and that result on any date wouldn't be surprise to me or anyone that knows the two teams. The SDSU team this year may be better than either team that went to the NCAA Tournament. SDSU gave Michigan its closest game in the NCAA Tournament until the loss to Louisville in the final. SDSU is favored to win the conference again this year and has added depth, talent, and size. Enough to overcome the loss of All-American PG Nate Wolters. SDSU Coach Scott Nagy and Tim Miles have been friends for years so that makes for a natural fit for a scrimmage. Miles is aware of the talent that SDSU has and has had the last few years. That is why SDSU isn't on the regular season schedule. It would be perceived as a bad loss for the Huskers even though the Jacks probably are the better team. My hope is that with Miles (he is a good guy, solid coach), the new arena, and commitment to getting better by the AD that the Huskers become a contender in basketball. That would make my inner Husker quite proud. Good luck this season! SUPERBUNNY Doc beat the first tourney team handily, and last year's team had many bad games on the road (Hofstra, CSU Bakersfield, smoked by Belmont, still can't win in the Dome) that I doubt State would have pulled it out, though they managed to get the UNM one out of nowhere so it's possible. Getting the once in a lifetime player State did was probably the thing that made them a tourney team, and regular season this year they'll be 3rd in the Summit at best without him. I don't think the reason they're not on the schedule is because Miles is afraid of the talent. If that Florida transfer (whose name escapes me, Cody something?) lives up to the hype he had going into college this could be another tourney team, but I'm not sold yet. If there's a Summit school that Miles has ties to and should fear this year it'd be NDSU, but even that one I don't see being a loss for the Huskers. Nice analysyis. Fair enough. I will check back in later in the year and we will see how it turns out. We did have some awful road losses last year to go with a few very impressive wins. Good luck this year! Looking forward to the days when the Huskers don't suck at basketball. Been a long time!

  6. I love the posts about Carl coming back to Lincoln. WTF? Bo better not be in Lincoln next year. Time to get back to the Husker way. The Pelini's just simply don't get that. SUPERBUNNY
  7. The Huskers used a tune with a funky beat before kickoffs. Anyone know what it is? Thanks again for a great time last weekend Husker Nation! SUPERBUNNY
  8. Good morning Husker Nation! I just wanted to thank you for a great experience and renewing my faith as a Husker fan. It was arguably one of the very worst weeks in Husker Football recent history with all that happened. Things could have taken a lot of different paths in how fans reacted. The result was straight class from pregame to postgame. Not sure why I even thought anything else would come from the best fans in College Football. When Pellini walked off the field at the end was the best part. The Husker fans stayed long after the game was over to salute their team and their coach as they left the field. Great stuff. As a lifelong Husker fan it was really fantastic to experience what the gameday experience is like for fans of the other team. I live in Brookings and have also been a lifelong Jackrabbit fan. Who knew that these worlds would ever collide. I was thanked by dozens of people after the game for making the trip and complimented on the skill and sportsmanship of the Jacks. Since returning home I have heard from numerous friends who know I'm a Husker fan about how great their experience was as well. There are plenty of Husker haters out there, my suspicion is that almost all of them have never experienced a game in Memorial Stadium. It was, is, and always will be a special place because of the fans that enter the gates. Good on ya Husker Nation! "Not the victory but the action; Not the goal but the game; In the deed the glory" Hartley Burr Alexander Here's to the Huskers playing well the rest of the way! Cheers! SUPERBUNNY
  9. The last time I was in Brookings, I thought there was some talk about a domed stadium? There hasn't been any serious talk about a dome to my knowledge. They are in the process of building of the indoor practice facility now and the stadium is the next big project up to bat. Both facilities should be fantastic for FCS level football and the stadium will be expandable if necessary. Our current stadium is in its last few years of being used safely so something needs to be done.
  10. I didn't take it that way at all. Feel the same way exactly.
  11. My understanding is that this is the last FCS opponent for Big Red and it only came about due to a hole in the schedule created with the move to the Big 10. The Big 10 has come out and said they don't want these games in the future. As a Husker fan I agree with that but it makes the Jackrabbit side of me unhappy.
  12. Hey, Husker fans. I'm both an avid Jacks and Huskers fan so will give you my $.02 on the Jackrabbits. They are the only team I would wear anything but red for in Lincoln. The Jacks are a fundamentally sound football team. The offense is our strength. Great rushing attack mixed with a lot of play action. Solid O-line creates great holes for Zach Zenner. He's the real deal. Quarterback is a solid player and has adequate receivers. Our defense is young but playing well. The D-line and LB's are solid. Weak link is D-Backs but last week they had four picks. Have struggled to get pressure on the quarterback. Solid special teams play and a very good PK. The Jacks played N to 17-3 game three years ago. This Jackrabbit team is a lot better than that team. I know it sounds clichéd but they are coming to Lincoln to win the game. They are looking for a signature win to elevate the program. Big Red needs to be ready to play. Will they be? Isn't that the million dollar question. As a season ticket-holder for both, this is an exciting week. It's a big stage for SDSU. Yeah, and we're getting a much needed check. If the Huskers rally around the coach then I expect a fairly easy win for them. Bring the B or C game then watch out. Pelini was very complimentary of SDSU a few years ago. No way he is sleeping through this one. Should be interesting. My inner Husker is hurting but my inner Jackrabbit smells blood in the water and can't wait for the opportunity. Nothing like a game in Lincoln! See you Friday night! SUPERBUNNY
  13. Our quarterback definitely prefers to stay in the pocket. We use a lot of play action. He is able to run and is a good sized kid. He's effective scrambling but you won't see any designed runs for him. Well, I doubt it anyway. The Jacks take good care of the ball. No turnovers so far this year.
  14. Actually, the Jacks are a far better running team then they are with the pass. Zach Zenner led the nation in yardage last year with well over 2,000 yards. This years he has a game of 295 yards and is averaging 180 per game and 7.7 yards per carry. I remember when those were Husker numbers. He is a great back lacking only straight line speed to play on Sunday. We have a solid, veteran offensive line making holes. We are an average passing team and getting better. Offensively the Jacks are solid. The defense needs to really step up to give the Huskers a run. If they do it could get interesting. BTW-Bo? Wow!
  15. If Big Red plays well then they will handle us easily. If not, this could be every Husker fans (including mine) worst nightmare. It just happens that the other team in the game is my other favorite team. A weird place to be for sure. So, the only thing on my agenda is to come to Lincoln and enjoy the weekend and let the chips fall where they may. Husker fans will appreciate the way we play ball. Reminds me a lot of the old Osborne teams. Not a lot of talking, just go out and crack helmets. Coach Stiegelmeier is very much out of a similar mold as Osborne.
  16. OK, Jackrabbit fan here but also an avid Husker fan. This game should be a snoozer. Should be. However, the Jacks are a decent football team. Yeah, I know but they are FCS right. True story. Three years ago we came to Lincoln and gave a very good account of ourselves and outside of a couple of really, really bad calls were in the game to the end. I was happy for may Jackrabbits but my inner Husker took a real beating. This Jackrabbit team is a lot better than the one three years ago. We have a solid offense with a great running back and a good QB who has solid receivers, and special teams are good. The defense is the question mark. Same thing for the Huskers. I expect both teams to be able to move the ball. The Jacks will play solid ball with few penalties and limited turnovers. Can the Huskers do the same? Not throwing smack here. Remember, I'm a big Husker guy. Just saying after last week if BR isn't ready to go it could be an awful result. The way I see it, I win either way. Can't wait to come down to Lincoln. Look for me, I'm the guy in blue!
  17. The sad fact is the Husker job isn't anywhere near the top like it used to be. Top 20 at best. Makes me sad. It can turn around but right now that's the fact. Louisville is probably a higher profile job. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Husker believer but I'm really down right now. Especially with the defense. I thought when Pelini signed on we'd see a lot more defenses like we had with Suh. Just hasn't happened. Charlie Strong is an impressive coach. His future is really bright. He will land a monster job if he leaves Louisville. SUPERBUNNY
  18. If we're going to honor the tradition of the Blackshirts, they are given when earned. Do they ever get taken away after a bad performance? After the UCLA, OSU, and Wisconsin debacles I thought they should have the shirts taken away and given Blackskirts. Sad thing is the game with Georgia didn't bother me. Hell, we only gave up 45!!! We're a long way from anything resembling a true Blackshirt defense. Thank God Pelini is a defensive wizard or we'd have had a hundred hung on us a couple times! At some point you have to start at the top and change the whole culture. Is now that time? I don't know. I want Bo to succeed but the fact is there has been minimal performance improvement combined with very lopsided losses. SUPERBUNNY
  19. As much of a Husker fan as I am, today I am reminded that it is just a game. I hated the loss to Wisconsin and even more that we got abused but the sun came up this morning and today is another great day. We are fortunate. The sun didn't come up for little Isaiah, my heart breaks for his family. Hug your kids a little more, tell them you love them, and make the most of the day! It is always a good day as a Nebraska fan! SUPERBUNNY
  20. Can Rex receive a medical redshirt? Not sure if he'd want to come back due to graduation but maybe if he's eligible. Just a thought. SUPERBUNNY
  21. A very humble thank you to a man that not only is a legend in his accomplishments but in my opinion is even more of a legend in the way he went about it. Faith, honesty, integrity, always believe in the good in people, and a belief in that there is a larger goal than self. We've all learned from Dr. Osborne. In this day and age we would all be well-served to slow down and take a look at the grace with which he handled everything he was involded in. In the deed the glory indeed, Tom! A tip of the cap and a sincere thank you. All the best in your retirement! SUPERBUNNY
  22. UCLA has been our little West Coach bitch for a long time. I love seeing them on the schedule. Sure win against a team that is always overrated. It's going to feel good to get out to La La Land and get a piece! I see red people!!! SUPERBUNNY
  23. That puts the hair on the arms up every time! This is THE GOODS! Bring one that has that flavor! SUPERBUNNY
