Funny,I was just thinking the same thing. Frazier vs Berringer. All I can say is I sat in the stands at the spring game two years ago and watched Ganz and Keller both. It was blatently obvious that Ganz was the better athlete as far as I'm concerned, but was struck me was the way he gave up the body to make a play. Never saw that out of Keller like I did from Ganz. I even said so at the time. Not only was Joe the better athlete.. he was the better QB *AND* the better overall player. The kid's a baller for sure. I have a hunch he's going to have a great pro career in Canada.

I kinda liked Reggie Baul and Brenden Holbein myself. Just my opinion. Fryar and Rodgers would have to be top two. The rest would be toss ups.

If we can sell out games in the fall at whatever the price is nowadays, I'm betting we can fill the place for the spring game for a tenspot a seat. No problem. Just bring a friend.

I believe Nebraska was still in the running for him until Urban Meyer was named coach at Florida. The ultimate what if had Callahan landed him. If callahan had landed him he would have turned into a crappy player and transferred to NC State....

That would be about the only time I've ever heard about referees celebrating WITH the huskers......

Looking at the way Meyer runs a game, and the plays he tends to call I'm personally convinced he snuck into TO's office at night during the middle 90's and studied our playbook. He's obviously influenced by what teams like NU used to do. Who says the option is dead. Florida just won a title with it.

A few of my thoughts... 1. Sam Bradford is NOT a legitimate "Most Outstanding Player". Good player, but certainly not the best in the country. Florida made him look weak. Lots of 'deer in the headlights' looks on his face. Their offense is way to dependent on outstanding play from him. 2. What the hell was the constant looking to the sideline before every play?? Not how they played all season. When they upped the Tempo, they moved the ball. Naturally they couldn't have THAT! 3. Brent Venebles is a douche. Holy effing hell...how many times does his D have to give it up to a shovel pass before he decides to defend it? Go coach at Kansas State, jackass... jeez 4. Where the hell is my beer? If this is what Chokelahoma REALLY is going to be, I think maybe NU has a legitimate shot in Lincoln this year. Time will tell. Q: How is Oklahoma Football like marijuana? A: They both get smoked in bowls. I wonder how many national titles Tom Osborne would have won if he had coached in Florida. In a lot of ways Florida tonight looked like something TO might have put together. 9? 10? More? Damn I'm so disappointed in Stoops....

Exactly. When we start beating ranked teams, get 9 regular season wins and haven't oollapsed during any game. The you can brealk out the 'A' grades. 'A' grades are for the elite teams.

the bench mark is 9 REGULAR season wins. The Conference championship game and bowl game do not count toward this 9 wins. Bo gets an A for overall grade considering the turnaround. But it was really a b- season. But after 4 years of Cally, I'm glad for that b-.

Yep, there was no way our running bakcs were going to run wide on Clemson. They were way to fast. I loved the way Q ran yesterday, he looked alot like Lawrence Phillips to me. Lawrence always looked a LOT fast and could cut a lot better. Q is good, but he's got a ways to go before he rivals LP.

We play on New Years Day in the Outback Bowl against Iowa. Bigger bowl than the Gator. It pays a million dollars more. More people will watch too. Just to see what Spurrier will do. Sorry. Right now I'd happily take a Husker win tomorrow and see every other Big 12 team get spanked in their bowls and have terrible spring camps.... NU FOREVER! I'm pulling for all Big 12 teams, even OU. Wanted Mizzou to lose though. KU is on NFL Net, no can watch. Too bad for OSU. Just seeking out signs of weakness in next year's prey....

no, but the point is he isn't as great as he is touted... and the "yards per play" being 9.5 is including kick returns??? because uh, that skews it a TON Seems to me he's getting too much credit. One thing Ive noticed about him from video is it can take him 3 or more steps to cover 5 yards. That suggests to me he isn't as fast as some make him out to be. He does have some shiftiness though. Looks like he can usually make the first tackler miss and THAT could be a problem.

But you came a whole lot more than that away from 11 wins didn't you? Having one decent game at the end of of a 5-7 year doesn't mean you can assume 11 wins the next year. Those 12 teams you're playing get to practice and improve too.

The Jets still list him as an assistant on their website FWIW....

I went to Russia of all places right after 9/11. Amazingly I actually met Russian natioanls and Ukrainian Nationals in both Kiev and Odessa who were Husker fans. I'll never forget a guy at Borispol airport in Kiev , in a Husker hat just walking up to me (I had one on too) and striking up a conversation about the team. Native Ukrainian, not an expat. This is why I don't say Husker Nation. I say Husker Empire.
