  1. in Missouri, you actually have to be in possision to get an MIP Actually, the law was changed a few years ago so that 'consumption' = 'possession', as in you're possessing in your body. MU, When did they do that? I know in like 03 they started the zero tolerance (0.0 law). So that if your a minor and were arrested and blew anything they could tack it on. But it was my understanding without a reason for charges, it was not stand alone, unless you physically possessed alcohol. Missouri's New Minor in Possession (MIP) Law "Possession by Consumption" HCS SS SB 402 MIP "Possession by Consumption" Introduction On July 13, 2005, Missouri Governor Matt Blunt signed HCS SS SB 402 into law. Six weeks later, on August 28, 2005, the new statute took effect. Missouri's new MIP law expands the old MIP law's definition of "possession" to include "possession by consumption" and appearing "visibly intoxicated." from this MIP attorney: http://www.modwi.com/MIP.asp

  3. Yesterday was why I love the Olympics. Where else can you watch guys cross-country skiing with guns? And have it be a close, nail-biter of a race. (The American who finished 2nd in a later race (Nordic Combined) was Johnny Spillane, like "Mickey Spillane". Channel 8 sports guy Gager called him "Johnny Spill-ah-nee" accent on the 'ah', like he was Italian.)
  4. I've been following the Rams since they got to St. Louis, and followed the Cardinals before they moved to Phoenix. There's something about the St. Louis air that addles the brains of NFL draft pickers. I fully expect the Rams to select a place kicker in the first round - but not the best available. (The Cardinals once drafted a one-eyed quarterback... "Guess that explains why he was always sacked from the left side.."
  5. Right. Watch tonight's Duke/North Carolina game and see what college basketball should be like. Crazy-azz students, frothing at the mouth, jumping around shirtless and painted and making the place crazy.
  6. #4 committed today. Anthony Pierson from St. Louis - expected to be one of the top recruits in the state. 4.4 speed, ran for over 2000 yards last season but want to be a cornerback, bless his heart.
  7. The word is that he may be the only WR in the 2011 class. We got WR like a hound has ticks. At least 3 freshmen were redshirts in 2009 and only 2 seniors left.
  8. Really? I heard the exact opposite. He only had 65 tackles, with 17 for loss. Pretty lousy year.
  9. Believe it or not (showing my age here) I first remember watching the Olympics at my Grandmothers house.. the Rome Olympics of 1960, where Abebe Bikila of Ethiopia won the Marathon running barefoot and American Rafer Johnson won the decathlon. 8 years later he wrestled the assassin Sirhan Sirhan to the ground after he'd killed Bobby Kennedy. Don't think I've missed an Olympics since. Favorites? I was a competitive swimmer when Spitz won 7 golds with 7 world records in 1972, Ali lighting the torch in Atlanta, and Beijing - I'd just gotten a HD TV and almost didn't go to work for 2 weeks. I like the traditional sports and still not into things like snowboarding. Just doesn't have the class of a 70 mph downhill.
  10. There was one change - Dexter McDonald, 3* DB from KC, MO, de-committed from Mizzou and re-committed to Kansas.
  11. Sorry in advance... but this cracked me up (and I'm a big fan of Kurt, having lived in St. Louis when the Rams first got there from LA, and seeing the totally improbable story of a grocery clerk winning the Superbowl.)
  12. Chase has actually impressed most of the coaching staff with his play on the scout team, his general smarts and decision making, and the ability in practice to stand in the pocket and deliver. The coaches have mentioned that the Saints offense is built around a shorter QB, so don't be surprised is he makes an impact next season. It's a long shot, but you never know. As for the ring - Starters get really big ones with 2 diamonds, 2nd stringers get littler ones with 1 diamond, special teams get little ones with cubic zirconium and practice squad players get cigar bands.
  13. Lucca Staiger, averaging 9.8 pts/game and 26 minutes for Iowa State, quits to play professionally in Germany. Pat Knight calls him "selfish". http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/big12/2010-01-20-pat-knight-iowa-state-staiger_N.htm
  14. It's going to be tough for the Rams. They DESPERATELY need a QB, but IMO, this years QB crop isn't all that strong. Suh would be their best choice, but they still won't score next year.
  15. But with 10 of the Big 12 voting against, it seems unlikely that we'll see it here ever. Sort of like men's soccer.
  16. I remember waiting for the game to start and ESPN goes to Columbia for a pre-game shot... "Coming up from Columbia Missouri...." And Gabbert is standing on the field warming up in a T-shirt in what looks like the start of the Vietnamese rainy season.... like 6 inches per hour. I couldn't believe it. "OK", I thought... "This is gonna be weird".
  17. Sounds a bit anti-free trade to me. Why not just let athletes transfer at will?
  18. When Crabree was on 1620 the other day he talked about how A-Rod was a big disappointment at the AA game. Apparently Rivals isn't convinced that he developed the way they projected him to developed during his senior season. I thought the same thing. I tuned in for a few minutes to see Mizzou recruit Nick Demien (who was knocking people silly) and Rodriguez seemed to do more standing around than anything. Demien and Rodriguez were roommates for the AA Game, by the way.
  19. I always put credence in, and I actually seek out, opinion pieces by authors named "Snickies".
  20. Up until yesterday, Big 12 home teams were 111-1 And Colorado upset Baylor at home last night. However, I don't expect ISU or NU to continue the trend tonight.
  21. Here's Nancy at the 2007 Red/White Scrimmage...
  22. Seems she got her release from UCLA (no reason not to, really). She'll watch Sidney next season and we'll see what happens next season as Lauren and Kristen can fight it out for starter.
  23. It ain't gonna change. All teams are trying to get to a BCS bowl, and if you lose one or 2 games before conference play begins, you've already lost a huge payoff. Like Deepthroat said in "All the President's Men".... "follow the money"
  24. They always get a raise before Tom and Harvey Perlman ask you into the Chancellor's office for a little talk...
