Nothing special about this team except our storied past. We have more components on this team that are below par starting with the coaching staff. Fundamentals....protecting the ball, catching the ball, burning underused red shirts, protecting the end zone against a play that every man, woman and child watching the game knew was coming. And all those penalties? It's the last game of the season not the first....inexcusable! I am not turning my back on this team but I am not going to Al Bundy around and drink the warm sugar free koolade and act like everything is ok. Everything is great! If you are content with a Joe Shmoe program. I live in a Colorado and travel around for work. And when I tell people that i am from Nebraska the response is usually "oh! You guys used to be really good in football" that is the average outside perception of this program. Huge fan but discouraged, disappointed and grasping tightly to the slipping pride of this past season. Looking forward to the 2012 Husker football season and erasing the words "used to be" out of any conversations regarding Nebraska football. Go big red!!! Get your Sheet together.

Nothing else matters except perception... Once that reputation is gone you have to rebuild it. We are losing ground....this team is nothing more than an average program and nothing more. We don't suck but we're no bueno. This team is at least 5+ years away from playing for a NC and that is a fact jack. Anybody that would disagree I would be open to a gentlemens bet. I don't care what you say or think this is the university of Nebraska...how long can we make excuses for these piss poor performances. If i had to bet 5k on NU vs UCLA matchup? I would take UCLA....no joke!!!!!!

Knapplc you crack me up. I started off by reading how busy you were and thought damn he is to busy for HB? But After reading your 4th reply I realized your priorities have not changed. Good for you man...you're a true HB connoisseur. Back to topic I think Bo needs to get his priorities straight. I observe a team with no leader, no identity and no passion. Every Saturday the question isn't who we're playing...the question is what Nebraska team is going to show up. Ask Forest Gump about this team and he'll tell you...this team is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. And as much as I think Bo is the right guy for the job, it's on him. Fix it!!

Love Bo but your point don't mean sheet. Bo can win games we all know that. The question mark is losing to a down Texas team, Oklahoma in championship game after a comfortable lead, washington in bowl...etc Bo can win no question but so can saban and miles. Out of these 3 coaches who is the most inconsistent? That is my concern. Not a lot of games where this team fires on all cylinders. For the most part either our offense plays like sh#t and defense plays lights out. Or the D doesn't show up and the offense rolls. Inconsistency falls back on fundamentals, fundamentals fall back on coaching. Believe it or not I am a Bo-liever....will get there sooner or later.

My concern is even when Nebraska had a good lead this year burkhead & Martinez played most the game. When a game is won its won the little extra playing time has more negative side...injuries, rest, playing time...etc Carnes, green, heard and turner are all going to be inexperienced for the most part next year. Something's just don't make sense at times but I am sure there is a good reason.....maybe.

Unlikely.....and thank god for that. I stand by the big red no matter what but I am also a realist. Nebraska is not ready for an LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, Okie St, Stanford or any team in the top 10 right now. Hate to admit it but it's true. Those teams would spank us and change our diapers all in the same move....no joke!!

What's your point? There are no what if's in football...just facts. Nebraska could have just as easily rolled over an gave up. But they didn't. They fought back and won...enjoy it naysayer.

Our DE's run around like they have a diaper full of..... The front line of the entire D is slooooooow. They usually can not catch the QB but at least they chase them out of the pocket.....that's not always good though either

Off the subject but what do you guys think of Chatelain's reporting on Nebraska football? Seems like he always trying to get under Bo's skin and stir the pot. Just my opinion but they both make me Agree with this thread....Epic win.

I think all the media criticism, fan complaining and verbal attacks is not all that bad. Is it the right thing to do? Probably not. Did it piss Bo, Taylor and the rest of the team off? Probably absolutely!! They know in order to shut all these naysayers up what needs to be done. Destroy their opponents on the field. This team rallies behind the "us against the world" mentality. Maybe this team needed awake up call. Maybe this team is sitting in the film room right now pissed off at the world watching the licking their chops. I think Ohio St. is walking into the lions den come Saturday night. Go Big Red!!!

How many touchdowns did they break? How many turnovers did they produce? Good teams finds ways to turn games around or at least keep them close. I am sorry but I thought that game was pathetic on all levels.....that was not Nebraska football. That was a piss poor performance on all levels starting at the top and going all the way down to the second string water boy. The Colorado Buffs would have put up a better fight....No Joke! Are you asking how many turnovers the special teams forced? Overall, I thought the special teams played pretty well. We for the most part pretty decent field position all night long. The special teams blocked a PAT. You could be right Jr. I was so pissed off (mostly embarrassed) by that performance I was blinded by anything good that came out of that game. In the first quarter I honestly thought Bo had those guys ready to kick some ass. Now all I hear is Welcome to the Big 10 boys! What a joke!!!

I think most of us understand that the entire team played like sh*t. Usually we have a good idea what we need to fix. After the Whiskey game where do they start? A lot of holes to plug...no joke! Defense, offense, special teams...etc When they get punched in the mouth they have to be able to fight back....It not it's going to be long season. If the game plan is not working go to plan B. God! Please tell me we have a plan B.
