  1. the game is not over there is still plenty of time, you know how college football can be. funny this commentator
  2. Simple answer: he would be infinitely better. He would be even better than that had Taylor not thrown that pick in the end-zone when up 17 on OU last year as well. No, only your perception of him would be different. He would be a championship coach. And the coach of a championship team has to be good, right? But how much of the outcome of the CSG against TX was in Bo's hand? Colt McCoy holds a little longer onto the ball, throws it a little further and NU wins. Or you have a different referee who thinks there was no sec left on the clock and we win. Or Dan Beebe is not the commmissioner of the BIG XII and we win. At the end of the day it was bad luck or a big injustice but nothing Bo could have done about. And yet you say he wins he is so much better, he loses, well not so good. That reminds me of little kids who think they can't be seen when they close their eyes. To determine a good coach is pretty tough IMO too many circumstances that play a role. But simply going by wins or championships is definitely to easy.
  3. yeah he sucks! Fumbling the ball and ALMOST throwing an INT! Man I wouldn't play this guy even if TM was hurt. I'd go with Rex, he can do it all! And he has not thrown an INT. Not even ALMOST.
  4. it is so ridiculous that people state "Bo is not a top10 coach because he has not won a conference title or has not been to a bcs bowl." Would Bo be any better as a coach if there was no extra second left on the clock against TX??
  5. so did Arkansas get screwed on that last fumble? he looked down from what I could see on my crappy cpt picture and I thought that's what the announcers said too. Then my wife started yelling at me and next thing I see its LSU ball?!
  6. man, suh really needs to take it down a notch... what a jackass unsportsmanlike conduct penalty
  7. Kick the field goal, even if missed they only gain two yards when Penn State took over. Make the field goal and that would have forced Penn State to score a touchdown. Disagree. PSU had a better chance of blocking the kick and scoring on special teams than driving the field with no timeouts. And there was still the chance we pick up the 1st down, which would have been ballgame. hAgree you don't kick the FG unless you can make it a 2 possession game. I remember the VT game when Bo didn't go for it on 4th and 1, punted it instead at the VT 37 yrd line. We all know how that worked out. Try to end it, don't give the ball to the opponent on purpose.
  8. We played UW and lost by more than 30 points. Objectively we cannot compete with them. No need to argue.
  9. This. Remember, after the MSU game there even was a well recognized thread about us sneaking into the CG ...the BCS CG they were talking about. This whole "if" and "what if" is ridiculous. A couple of "ifs" and we would have been back to back BIG XII champs. We are mediocre, on a good day with a couple of things going our way we can beat most teams ahead of us, but more than 5 out of 10? Probably not many. And then, on days where things turn a little against us ...by the way Northwestern is currently No. 73.
  10. I wasn't impressed with Michigan at all yesterday. I was watching the game with one eye and if Illinois offense had shown up at all that would have been a totally different ballgame. They were just abysmal, 1 first down in the first 29 min, 2 total first half. It was like a rerun of NU playing TAMU. And Michigan, except for a few big runs by Toussaint (he had 140 of his 192yds on 4 carries but had 52 yds on 23 carries the rest of the way) hadn't much going offensively either. Granted Robinson didn't play much in the second half due to getting hit on his wrist but there wasn't much offense in the first half either. And I do believe our defense is as good as Illinois.
  11. How about Okie State up 49-0 against TT at the half. Wonder how we would have matched up against them.
  12. This. Instead of pulling out they should have announced that they will donate the same amount they pay for the commercials to a child protection charity. Maybe we should stand next to the people from PSU and the Penn State community and not demonize them. It was the act of one sicko and the non-actions of a few. After all 99.9% of all Penn Staters are as innocent as you and I. Yes, but that 0.1% are the people that were the core of the University...not your standard 0.1%. Because so very few did wrong you abandon the rest too? Did you ever read the Consitution? It starts with "We the people of the United States...". It doesn't say "I, the President of the US..." or "We the administration...". Penn State is not JoePa or Graham Spanier or Tim Curley or McQueary or f'ing Jerry Sandusky. Penn State is currently 96,519 students who, apart from some idiots still worshipping JoePa, feel the same way as we do. Shocked, disgusted, speechless of what happened and why it wasn't stopped. To abandon those simply because they are Penn Staters is ridiculous.
  13. well you don't know what that sicko told the kid ...maybe he threatened with more harm in case of screaming. The kid surely is traumatized in some way and probably was back then on that particular day. That doesn't mean he couldn't walk though

  15. Are you kidding me? You must be a PSU fan. Just because you didn't break the law doesn't mean you didn't do anything wrong. He did the absolute bare minimum from a legal standpoint, but given this situation, EVERYBODY (not just a head football coach) should be held to a higher standard. His cowardly inaction enabled Sandusky to roam freely to molest other innocent children, and Paterno KNEW that was the case (or he was in denial about it, which doesn't make it better). If your argument is really that he didn't break the law, or that lots of other people were wrong too, then get your head out of the sand. Paterno screwed up in a huge way, and he deserves everything coming down the pipe at him (which by the way, is not jail-time. Just unemployment and shame). This! Great article for those who still don't get it!
  16. You need to read the grand jury report to understand this. Warning, though, it is horrifying and many people can't get through it completely. There's a lot more here than "an incident." There was a direct witness to a boy being forcibly raped in a Penn State shower. That witness told Paterno, and he relayed the info to his superiors. You need to understand the magnitude of these allegations to understand why JoePa (and everyone else who knew what Sandusky was doing) abdicated his responsibility so thoroughly by not making sure the police were contacted. Even worse, as recently as 2007 Sandusky was still coming to closed practices with young boys - AFTER Paterno and the school knew about the 1999 and 2002 incidents. In 2009, Sandusky was allowed to run an overnight football camp for youngsters on the Penn State campus. Sandusky was still allowed to use workout facilities as recently as last week. This is huge, and I don't think it's quite hit most of the public how ugly it is. That will sink in over the coming days and weeks. OK so I read all 23 pages. I still do not see where JoPa had direct knowledge of any sexual contact. Even in the earlier statements, he says there was inappropriate behavior on Sandusky's part. Before I go on, lets get one thing straight, in no way am I defending the actions of anyone involved. I am simply stating that JoPa should not get fired for his part. I am more disgusted by the grad assistant who at the age of 28 had to run home to daddy and tell him and NOT stop what he saw or Joesph Miller the wrestling coach who witnessed and incident and the janitor who ran and told everyone but did nothing to stop the attack. WTF. This has nothing to do with living in the past (1960's) either. This is a sad story about a beloved coach that got away with it because no witness stepped in to stop it. JoPa turn the information over to his superiors, one of which oversaw the Campus Police. It wasn't his job to follow up, it was Gary Schultz as overseer of the campus police and Tim Curley, his boss. Can't believe you feel this way. WOW, neither can I. Especially this - It wasn't his job to follow up, -is really disturbing. The GA told JP that he saw Sandusky in the shower with what he believed was a 10yr old boy doing whatever and all JP does is inform his boss. No other actions taken after it was obvious that nothing was going to come out of this. It was his responsibility to follow up, to inform authorities outsides the university. Maybe not legally, but what kind of human being do you have to be that it doesn't bother you that a kid gets sexually abused? Or that it bothers you just so little that you think you have done all you can by simply reporting it to the guy above you. JP could have stopped it. Anybody that knew about it could have stopped it. And whoever knew and didn't stop Sandusky by simply going to the police is just as guilty. You don't have to be a witness. The words - Sandusky, 10yr old boy, shower, doing stuff - is all JP needed to take the appropriate action. But he didn't so I hope he and everybody else is gonna burn in hell right next to that Sandusky mofo.
  17. NU's two opponents last night were UW and NU
  18. Herbstreit said it tonight, about 3-4 seconds after the snap on a pass play TM seems to feel uncomfortable and wants to get out of the pocket whether or not there is pressure. This panicking is something you will not coach out of him. And that leads to bad decisions. But also consider this: overall I think the offense did make progress from last year. Big XII CG two yrs ago and last yr with this offense and NU would be back to back Big XII Champs. It's the defense that got significantly worse. Last couple of yrs the held us in those games, this yr they fall apart.
  19. Others receiving votes: Iowa State, Kansas State, Missouri, Washington, Notre Dame, ...Nebraska
