  1. will the game be available via PPV or espn if the region you live in shows the Bama game instead?
  2. our team has fire....coach Bo helped light it....the effort will be there
  3. Frank Beamer is not only a class act and one of the best coaches in NCAA, he also has a ton of respect for the Huskers. Coach Beamer said Nebraska is as big as it gets when it comes to History, Tradition, and Success. He said he believes Nebraska is on their way back to being the PowerHouse they were, and he is impressed with the size and effort of play on this years team. The best thing he said when asked by the reporter about Nebraska and Oklahoma and how their programs had possibly helped mold his career at Virgina Tech since the early 70s ......Coach Beamer said both schools were always mentioned when discussing college footballs top 4 or 5 programs, but Nebraska was the team at the top....
  4. not having NU #1 on this list is a joke
  5. beneficial...more time to work on a game plan and focus on a big road game...
  6. 4-2 but to quote Pdiddy our attitude and effort will be 'Cant Stop....Won't Stop'
  7. Hi BamaBeta..... you have no argument from me...the SEC is the best conference, followed by the Big12.....I think the Big12 will battle for that title in the years to come, but the SEC is stronger.... ...its nice to have football educated/savy posters from other teams...the new generation of fans cant really grasp the storied traditions of perennial power houses like Nebraska and Alabama.... I think Mizzou is rated where they should be.... Bama football is back, and I think you all will have a great year....Look for the Huskers to compete with anyone two years from now....GBR
  8. I'll give you a realistic comment, which is what all my comments are. Glenn played great and should prove to be a great LB and team motivator. Sorry that I'm not a drinking homer. Oh wait, no I'm not, so eat me. Ha ha ha! And they call ME Spock? At least we have common ground on Glenn. You know his Uncle and Husker Hall of Famer Broderick Thomas was happy...GLenn is a stud....I hope his energy is addictive.....
  9. Offense Overall A Offense Rushing A ...even though it wasnt a big night rushing, it was a great effort and the game plan called for more passing from what WM was set up for on D. Offense Passing A ...Ganz did a good job moving around, and finding his guys..Swift and Holt looked very strong... Defense Overall C Pass Defense C ...some great effort and individual peformances, but still work to be done...too many holes.. Run Defense A ...the D line was a wall most of the night...i know this is an area with no a lot of depth, so we need to pray for health from the starters....i was impressed with Glen, and Dillard in the middle, I think these guys will get better every game....i cant wait to see them wrecking some ball carriers.. Special Teams Kicking A+ 4 for 4 field goals, most kick-offs were in the endzone, one even through the uprights... Special Teams Returning A ...Paul looked great on kick-offs, and Swift has great hands on punts Speical Teams Coverage C+ ...it seemed like every unit had the Bo Pelini effort, but there was confusion and probably missed assignments in every aspect of the game..... A+ for physical effort.....the mental effort will improve moving forward....I cant wait to watch the San Jose State game...
  10. 1. Daniel 2. Reesing 3. Harrell 4. Ganz 5. Bradford 6. Freeman 7. McCoy 8. Robinson 9. McGee 10. Hawkins 11. Arnaud 12. Szymanski
  11. I wish the Huskers and Sooners still had to meet every year, but since that rivalry cooled down, the Buffs pretty much proclaimed that we were big rivals, and now it seems to be that way....
  12. Cody Green says he has made a decision and will most likely announce in one week...out of his 30 plus offers two remain...The Big Red and Texas A&M.....this could be a great start to next years recruiting class, and an amazing possibility for the Huskers future offense...picking A&M would be a big disappointment...
  13. 20 to 25 ...somewhere in there....anything in the teens would be overachieving with a new coaching staff...anything is possible...
  14. Mark May is tied with Herbstreet in my book....call me biased if you want to, but I thought Trev Alberts had the best insight into the game when he was on the crew....
  15. agreed the huskers have a deep stable at running back....lucky / castille / helu / mendoza....what if kenny wilson some how comes back at 100%...wow... ...the big line will for sure be tested against the best of the best this year when the huskers visit the sooners and their defensive front.... ...if Ganz can distribute the ball to our receivers and keep defenses on their toes the offense should be ok... ...lets hope the Blackshirts re-emerge as one of the most aggressive units in college football to help out the offense...
  16. i think the problem with the secondary was more of a coaching / motivational problem....the huskers could suprise a lot of their biggest critics with Thenarse, Murillo, West, Blue (if healthy) ....i think we will see Asante lighting some people up this season with a more aggressive defensive scheme...
  17. how about 'back in black' with the old ac/dc theme song....
  18. sooners will be our toughest opponent over all... mizzou will be our toughest opponent at home.... ...and texas tech will be a scary road game... ...being optimistic the huskers could be as good as 10-2 and as bad as 7-5....I always like our chances at home especially with a more spirited coaching staff....oklahoma and texas tech to me will be very hard to overcome in Pelinis first year....we all know anything is possible with the level of talent still on the team, motivated coaches, and the nations #1 fans....a 6-6 season would be a dissapointment...
  19. Herbstreet is a jack ass....I liked his commentating until this clip...he obviously is entitled to his opinion, but he has some sort of memory loss... Nebraska in 94-95 were the best ever....or at least as good as anyone....I agree, we need to move on and we cant live on yesterday....BO and his staff will have to make these fools on ESPN remember what the Big Red is really about.... ....kudos to Holtz for having Nebraskas back and for Blackledge for recognizing our dominance in the 90s..
  20. Trev Alberts should still be an espn analyst....he was great to watch and always has great insight.... ..oh yeah, and one of the best Huskers to ever step on the field...

  22. i remember reggie cooper was from slidell louisiana....he had some teammates that played juco ball in scottsbluff, nebraska, at what was then called Nebraska Western Community College....NWC had some amazing basketball talent that went through there....bobby jackson and sedric toney to name a couple who ended up in the nba.... ..slidell had some athletic kids back then....with Bo in charge maybe we can tap into the talent in that city for the future...
  23. Peterson was beast in college, and if staying healthy, will go down as one of the top 3 running backs ever.... ...he needs some help, or he wont get to a championship, just like barry sanders did not...
  24. donta jones was one of my favorite defensive players ....its hard not to live in the past if your a husker fan....im going to watch the 1995 national championsip game with some friends for my birthday...no team was better in the 90's.......im excited for the future as well...whether the Big Red is 5-7 or 11-1...its all good...
  25. it will be interesting where BO and the coaches move players and fit athletes into different positions....if young guys can pick up the system, i think Steinkuhler and Williams will see some playing time.... ...its really a mystery until next august....i cant wait to see the opening depth chart.....
