Its a 2 man race between TO and Bear Bryant. TO is ahead 42% to 37%. Paterno is a distant 3rd with 5% of the vote.

That sucks. He blocked a kick in the KSU game in 05 that helped win that game. He also had a couple of other blocks that season as well. He also blocked a field goal against Pitt to help preserve a 7-6 win.

I'd say so. Lucky, Glenn and Wilson are all gone after next year. That leaves Castille and Helu as sophs and Mendoza, Okafor and maybe 1 more guy that they can afford to redshirt and develop. Why would all those guys leave??? Do you think they are going to jump and go to the NFL??? He said after next year because all of them will have graduated or at least used up all of their elgibility after next year.

On the Husker wrap up they were talking about us possibly playing in the Insight Bowl against Iowa.

I hope we can win this one and impress him. We are in need of some LB's in this class. I agree, we really need to get some solid LB's that can hopefully contribute right away since we are losing Ruud, McKeon, Octavian, and Brandenburgh.

I think that we will probably lose against K-State but I really hope that I am wrong and that we can win it.

LSU has played 4 pretty good teams in the last 4 weeks and have an overall tougher schedule than Oklahoma has. I saw that you suggested Venables (Oklahoma) or Strong (FLorida). What makes them better? Oklahoma and LSU are pretty close in most defensive statistical areas but Florida is 52nd in scoring defense compared to 10th for LSU. Florida is 18th in rushing defense and LSU is 4th. Florida is 79th in pass defense and LSU is 6th. So how are they better ?

I missed most of the game last night but got to see the end. I am not sure what the problem has been lately and why we have been struggling so much. Hopefully having to play some close 5 set matches will pay off later in the season.

I just looked up the defensive stats according to the NCAA and LSU is ranked 2nd in overall defense allowing only 234.67 yards a game. They are 4th in rush defense allowing 65.9 a game and 6th in pass defense allowing 168.78 yards a game. Sounds pretty damn good to me. I was just looking at box score and LSU still only gave up 254 yards with just 20 yards against the run. Alabama had a punt return for a TD, and one drive was only a 20 yard drive for a TD as well as a couple field goals off of short drives. I would take that over what we have.
