  1. thanks for the visual...i still remember the fluke play the 95 huskers had on the #2 team in the nation that was gonna dominate the 95 huskers...most of the team got their hands on the "non-hiesman" worthy quarterback, decided not to tackle him, and watch him run another 65 yards and score... :laughpound 95 huskers can't hold a candlestick to the hurricanes.... :hellloooo :hellloooo
  2. Oh please! His home, and I mean home, is in Corvalis. Why would anyone want to live in either Alabama or LA? T_O_B
  3. Watching the Ala. / Mizzo game and the color man just made a reference to the movie 'Cool Hand Luke.' He credited the star Paul Newman with theline, "Failure to communicate..." sorry Dumbo the line was delivered by Strother Martin. How can the audience be expected to think this guy knows what he's talking about when he is an obvious moron? T_O_B
  4. Samuel L. Jackson in a navy blue, velvet blazer with turtle neck and red pants. Say it ain't so Sam. T_O_B
  5. Maybe just needs a little development. I'm warming up to Riley more and more. Man was absolute hamstrung at Oregon State, yet he set them up for that 2000 fiesta bowl win under Erickson and has been decent since start of his second term there. Yeah, everyone keeps saying that Riley is great at developing talent. I look forward to seeing some of that. Perhaps starting with Brown. That and his teams have been known for aggressive defenses. I think I've had my fill of bend-don't-break defenses. Especially when we give up 56 unanswered points to the freaking Vadgers. We've been calling it the "Matador Defense" that's when you take a step to the left and shout, "Ole!" as the RB goes past you. T_O_B
  6. Newbies everywhere and acting like they know something to-boot. T_O_B
  7. Belichek would have had the same results. Having Ryan Leaf as your QB is a definite job killer. OSU has a distinct disadvantage in Oregon due to the close proximity to the Phil Knight funded Ducks. Oregon's 44-7 whipping of AZ was spurred more by the early season loss to AZ than Frost's play calling and I mean no disrespect to the Snowman. Just take your negative BS and put it in a sock. T_O_B
  8. Callahan had HC experience. He ran the Raiders into the ground didn't he. Pederson should have picked up on that before he hired him. T_O_B
  9. Good post Ladyhawke. All good points LH. +1. As far at the pro style offense, Riley also said he'd tailor his schemes to suit his players strengths. Pro style isn't on our roster right now. So I'd be surprised if we end up headed in that direction next fall. Agree almost 100% LH but I sometimes TA gets a bad rap. I think a lot of his problems were caused by the coaching and play calling of Beck. I also thought KB dropped too many balls that he should have caught. T_O_B
  10. "Walk-on Alexis Serna won the 2005 Groza award for the best kicker." I'm thinking we could use a kicker. Brown was a disappointment. T_O_B
  11. Have been quite vocal about getting rid of the S&C coaches for the last 2/3 years. Our lines have looked fat and been pushed around for far too long. Here are the guys who need to go: Mike Arthur, James Dobson, Tyler Clarke, Willie Jones, and Taylor Porter. Arthur isn't directly involved with football but he is the S&C Director. These guys should be out the door right behind Beck and Paps. The rest of the staff, with the exception of Brown, can have an extra day to pack up their stuff. T_O_B
  12. What?????????????????????????????????????????
  13. If you are a football player and go to Kentucky get ready to sit n the back of the bus. In case they don't know it BASKETBALL is king at Kentucky. T_O_B
  14. Since you haven't really looked at OSU's stats for 2014 I'll help you out: Riles threw the ball 55% of the time. His QB's completed 61.4% of their passes, averaged 7 yds. per attempt and 11.4 yds. per completion. His RB's averaged 3.8 yds. per carry. Looks to me like throwing the ball was just shy of twice as productive as running the ball was. They would have had to run the ball 92 times to get 350 yds. Riles will find a better stable of running backs at Nebraska than he had at OSU, so why don't we wait till the team takes the field before start to bitch about something that hasn't happened yet. 15. According to Riley's comments he was approached on Monday. Seems like you start at the top of your list (if there was one) rather than somewhere down the list. T_O_B
  16. CBS Sports reports that both Spurrier and Muschamp deny this. T_O_B
  17. Major concern. All I've heard is that Beck threw too much and that in Lincoln we need a coach that utilizes the power running game, yet we hire a guy that has a history of throwing the ball all over the place and many seem to be ok with it. I don't get it. If you had looked at OSU's stats you may have gotten it 74H. Take a look: Passing Statistics CMP ATT YDS CMP% YDS/A TD INT RAT 290 472 3305 61.4 7.00 15 8 127.4 Rushing Statistics CAR YDS AVG LONG TD 376 1417 3.8 78 19 If your QB's are completing 61.4% of their passes with 7 yds per attempt and 11.4 yds per completion. And your backs are only generating 3.8 yds per carry you'd probably throw the ball too. Riles team threw 55% of the time this year not an even split but it makes sense to me. He's also going to have a lot better talent at running here than he did in Oregon. Voted Yea and am very happy. GBR! T_O_B

  19. Why are "Y'all" still trolling our board? Been several years since we were in the same conference and neither of us is even in that conference. And what's the problem with playing Texas, a 6-6 team with only one quality win all year? I would think a good second tier bowl would be more than happy to fill its stands to capacity with a UT vr T A&M matchup. Only logical assumption is that you are a bunch of Fraidy Cats. Oh, I see you are losing an assistant to Kansas. I guess the rats do desert a sinking ship. That's got to be embarrassing. T_O_B

    UAB

With the high cost of running a football program UAB may only be the first of many. With the high and mighty, and I might add, greedy NCAA raking in millions and millions every year I would think they could share some of the wealth to save schools like UAB. T_O_B
  21. Baylor has a beautiful new stadium. Opened this year at a cost of $266,000,000. The only thing I have to ask is why is it not a full bowl and why only 45,000 capacity? Sounds like a lot of money for so few seats. T_O_B
  22. IDK, if Bo gets the SC DC position, there's gold to be had with Spurrier... Spurrier says he's done in 2 years. T_O_B
