  1. Looks like the latest board upgrades have been a success. No crashing for the last two games!

I don't have any idea if this has been ask, if so I appologize. But is there a reason why on the main page the big HB's with the football logo overlap the title's?

If the board didn't crash after Wiscy, I think we're golden.

dizzturbed, is that using a regular computer or a mobile device? If a regular computer, you may want to post that in the Board Feedback forum. zoogies is much better at diagnosing these problems than I am, and he may not see this.

  2. We must have been saving it for an important game. We're keeping the offense vanilla for... Minnesota. That's the ticket.
  3. Godwin's Law is dumb. It's simply pointing out that when people try to make comparisons they typically fall back on the most obvious point of reference because, frankly, most people don't know much about much. It doesn't mean the conversation is over, and in fact the people invoking Godwin's Law are equally at fault for being unable to perpetuate the conversation. Simply crying, "Godwin's Law!" does not win an argument. But Nebraska Fan has his own version of Godwin's Law - whenever we have a debate about the team that falls into rhetorical impasse, inevitably comparisons are made to our 90s teams. We can call it Knapp's Law, and I can get a nickel every time someone makes such a reference.... wait, wait, I'm being told there will be no nickels.
  4. Here's a thread from BuckeyePlanet, my "second home" in the Big Ten message boards, talking about Husker fan treatment of Buckeye fans. From everything I've read from Buckeye fans, not only will they make the trip back when they return, but they're going to bring friends with them. That kind of positive advertising is invaluable to the local economy. Both Lincoln and Omaha got a tourism boost this weekend from all the Ohio State fans. Does anyone think Madison will get a similar boost next time we play at Camp Randall? I highly doubt it. It's kindergarten-simple: Treat others the way you want to be treated. That's really all Husker fans do.
  5. As a regular denizen of the upper reaches of the north end zone, I definitely agree with this. They should have put ramps up to this stretch of the stadium, but I'm not sure where they'd base them - the dock is right below the NW corner and the track is on the NE corner. In fact, they had to remove some of the track seating to make space for the east stadium expansion. Add me in as another person agreeing with the post-game radio advertisement haters. I get that they are a business, and that the bulk of their budget comes from those ads during football season, but it jumped the shark at least a decade ago with these ads. WAAAAY too many of them.
  6. Then how do you explain the lack of audible clapping when injured players walked off the field? Surely you heard that, too? It was louder than the boos.
  7. By all means, start a new topic that's more interesting to talk about.
  8. I'm rewatching this game on DVR, and there's a very important thing that you have to note - the booing you heard on TV was because of strategic placement of the microphones, and not so much because everyone was booing. From Bo's reaction to the boos and the fact that I could barely hear them at the north end zone, I think it's pretty clear that the majority of booing came from the student section. HOWEVER, there's an important contrast to draw from the TV broadcast. I'm just now watching Ohio State's first possession of the second half, and T-Mo just got banged up, was on the carpet, and is walking off the field. Pretty much the whole stadium was clapping as he got to his feet, it was VERY audible in the stadium, but you can barely hear it on TV. This is a great lesson - do not depend on what you see or hear on the TV for your game analysis. I was very surprised to hear all of the comments/questions about the booing when I got back from the game. I think the folks sitting near the students and watching on TV know far more about it than those of us in the rest of the stadium. Further, you wouldn't know from watching the TV broadcast, but everyone was applauding when Moore walked off the field. Again, you cannot depend on the TV broadcast to give you an accurate picture of what was going on. I'm glad I finally got to those two points in the game. I wasn't going to say anything about the booing as I saw it was overblown on TV, but then when you couldn't even hear the applause for Moore, that made up my mind to post about it here. Hope that helps clear that up.
  9. I thought Quincy was just a step ahead of everyone getting to the end zone. I've rewatched the first half on my DVR, right up to the end. I'm going to go through the whole "booing" sequence, then the fun begins when I get to watch the second half.
  10. I don't know. I voted no, simply because the hill was so steep, and their offense completely stopped after Brax got hurt. Bauserman is.... not good.
  11. I'm not trying to be too hard on him. I don't mean it to come off that way. He did put it in there quite nicely, and Enunwa did have his guy(s) beat.
  12. Yeah, that weapon is pretty awesome. I've never been lucky enough to see one used live, though.
  13. Oh. My. God. That's ridiculously wide open, and Martinez threw it into what amounted to triple coverage. It just makes you sigh. Like I said. This game wasn't proof that he's there. He just made progress. Baby steps.
  14. I have the game on DVR, and I'm DVRing the replay (because it's shorter, so I can keep it), but I'd love to be able to access ESPN3 for this HD online version. Apparently we don't get it in Lincoln?
  15. Poor Joe. There was blood in the water when Brax went out. I was shouting "GO GET BAUSERMAN!!!!!" at the top of my lungs when he came in. Probably yelled that every play he was in there. The guy is as mobile as the Venus de Milo, but with worse arms.
  16. I'll ask it. If there were F-18s flying around all day Friday doing what looked like test-runs, and F-18s flying around all morning on Saturday, why did they use A-10s for the flyby?
  17. Holy crap. Makes you wonder - have you ever seen Ankrah and Will.I.Am in the room together at the same time? Hmmm?
  18. This is utter crap. It may very well be crap. It is not utter crap. Mostly I thought it was funny, the whole Dirk/Taylor thing. The "where your loyalties lie" was over-the-top hyperbole, and zoogies took me to task for it already. If you want to grind on me for that post, you'll have to get in line.
  19. Agree, both with how fascinating this topic is and with the possible beginnings of this division.
  20. This is nothing new. Shatel was doing this a long time ago. They have always been the stirrers of the pot.
  21. skers, you're the same age as my dad. He just had his shoulder redone, and it made a world of difference to his golf game. Hope your replacement works out for you.
  22. I would also suggest that Dirk (and the rest of the local press) dedicate about ten times the number of column inches to the defense than they do to the offense, or any particular player, over the next week. The defense hemorrhages yards and points. But all we hear about is the other side of the ball. Let's change the focus of the conversation, folks.
  23. So..... we gonna hug this out? EDIT - and I don't think anyone here is the bad guy - you, me, or anyone else. I just disagree with the opinion.
  24. skers, I'm not even close to being "old," and I can already see the writing on the wall. This stupid body changes. It gets harder to shout for four quarters. I still don't have my voice back from Saturday, nearly 48 hours later. I have to stop and take a breath after walking up 85 rows to my seats, when I used to run the South Stadium steps, up, down and back up back in the day. My dad is 64 and doesn't shout along with me. He just can't anymore. It changes. I don't know about you, skers, but I still feel like I did when I was 25. A little more experience to guide my opinions maybe, but otherwise I'm still the same guy. But physically, I'm not that guy anymore. And I do not like it.
