  1. We fans aren't the ones who lost our nuts, that would be the football team last night against Wisky (especially the defense). Not only did they lose them, they got crushed all over the field.
  2. ^this We think the schedual is easy, we still have UCLA at home, Michigan in the Big House (at their place with Gardner at the helm doesn't give me a warm fuzzy) and if by some crazy blind dumb luck we make it to the CCG, Ohio St. will kill us again in primetime.
  3. Should we just start the meltdown threads now, it isn't going to be pretty. I have no reason to believe Nebraska will be prepared or up for this game, we will lose. I still love the Huskers, but changes need to be made somewhere.
  4. That! Here's a good way to determine who's eligible: If you think you've ever gotten drunk on a bottle of Jarvis Redwine...not eligible If you think I.M. Hipp is a surgical procedure...not eligible If Scott Frost has ever nipped at your nose...not eligible If you think Vince Ferragomo was Mussilini's Minister of Defense...not eligible If you think Dave Remington manufactures firearms...not eligible If you think Irving Fryar is that fat guy at the tailgate running the BBQ...not eligible Anyone who knows who Todd Frain is is automatically eligible... New Nebraska recruiting strategy...recruit people with two first names...Roger Craig...Lavonte David...Johnny Roger...okay, I cheated on that one but it's still a good plan. Love it!!! This is why I don't post much anymore, I'm 43 and could care less about a pony or their posse. Then they seem to hi five eachother and think that they are "cracking skulls" as one said last night simply because some of us don't drink the eternal koolaid. I am a die hard Husker fan, granted I may not be as well versed in all the dynamics of football, 1 gap vs. 2 gap and such, but I do know a pretty piss poor performance when I see it. Many of us have a right to be concerned when things like last night keep happening over and over again. We also don't have to have the answers concerning who should replace Bo ( as some seem to think we have to answer if we feel the Bo experiment isn't working), that's not our job, but clearly what he is doing isn't working when they play anyone of significance. I also don't think we need to be attacked simply because we point out obvious concerns, most of us aren't acting like Flu did.
  5. So, when Nebraska gets rolled again in their Bowl game ( give me a good reason to believe they won't be), I'm sure the same sunshine pumpers will keep telling us that everything is fine. Things are not fine no matter how many time some keep telling themselves that.
  6. I'll watch the Huskers no matter what, hey, I'm still glued to this debacle. Maybe getting passed by the Capital One and Outback will be a good thing.
  7. So, if we get passed up by both the Capital One and Outback Bowls, who could we possibly play?
  8. I don't get how you can't point out the obvious or say anything negative or the Mods go delete happy. It is what it is, things are not very good right now, the truth is the truth.
  9. You think this is bad, wait till we play a top SEC team in our Bowl game, it will be VERY ugly!!!
  10. Standford. I really don't get why people are so eager to play UCLA in the Rose Bowl. We already get a chance at redemption next year at home. I find zero appeal about playing them three times in a year. That happened with Washington and it was rather boring if you ask me. Of course this assumes we win the conference championship. If we lose next week (I personally don't think we will), then that opens up some other interesting match ups for the Huskers that will test them for sure.
  11. That's awesome!!! My wife and I got married in 97, she wanted a fall wedding so I gave her two dates to choose from. Of course, they were Nebraska's bye weeks, got to have priorities. My mother in law has never forgiven me for that, of course they are from Michigan.
  12. I was at this game as well, the weather was aweful the whole night. My car over heated just as we got to the stadium and I didn't even care, figured we would deal with it after the game. I remember the first play of the game, Colorado had the ball and we intercepted it, it was all down hill for the Buffaloes after that. We were in the south endzone just above the students section. In the third quarter they started chanting, "we want more, we want more," it sounded like thunder it was so loud. I still have pictures I took that are packed away somewhere, several are from behind the goal posts in the south endzone as the students were tearing them down after the game. That was the craziest crowd I had ever seen.
  13. AMEN!!! Those kids really showed heart and played one heck of a game tonight. They deserve the BLACKSHIRTS!!!
  14. We have some young talent on D, and that side of the ball is actually improving a lot!!!
  15. The best part is that the Defense was keeping Robinson in check the entire first half until he got hurt. The game may have been closer if he didn't go down, but the D was still playing much better than three weeks ago.
  16. This isn't the blow out some were expecting, the D is doing pretty good considering how long they have been on the field. I hope Robinson will be OK, but if he can't come back, Huskers win this game for sure.
  17. GO BIG RED!!! I don't want to listen to all my Michigan friends brag for the next year, it is unbearable!
  18. Escellent post. Sure I would love to "have my cake and eat it to," honesty, integrity, etc and a winning program. Actually, we do have a winning program, just not to the level we would like at times. Firing Bo at this point is a huge mistake, some will argue that I am accepting mediocrity, not at all. Tom was head coach for 25yrs, out of those years he had 5 outstanding ones, 93-97 (actually, he had a few more if you count 81-83) and ironically enough, they came towards the end after many years of trial and error. He also had many years that some would argue were mediocre. We gauage Tom solely on his last five years and expect every coach to produce the same results every year, Tom didn't. If you go all the way back to the Devaney days, which started in 1962, that's 50yrs of Husker football. Out of those years, we won an MNC in 70,71,94,95,97 and played for one in 83,93 and 2001. Granted, those are impressive numbers compared to most teams, but that's 8 times total out of 50yrs, we need to quit acting like we have done it every year. I remember some major butt kickings that Tom's teams endured when they played a team with a heart beat. I guess my point is, things are not nearly as bad as some would like to believe. I will take loyalty, integrity, honesty and academics over a win at all costs mentality any day, and that "win at all costs" is what we just might get with some of the other coaching names that have been brought up to replace Bo. Be very careful what you ask for, sometimes it isn't worth it. Tom may not have been as vocal as Bo is, but I can remember many times the look on his face during a major beat down had the "I wish I knew" written all over it.
  19. Come on Huskers, lets turn the corner and never look back. GO BIG RED!!!!
