  1. This is all because the people of Nebraska have nothing better to do then to drive to Chicago and take over Ryan field!
  2. Cue the Seinfeld episode that dealt with this explicitly......... Ha ha ha that's funny
  3. I seriously would love to find out who this is and follow them around heckling them. How fun would that be show up at his work place or his home and just make up what ever garbage that comes to mind. People can be pretty damn stupid but you're not going to stop it, just like I probably wouldn't actually do it.
  4. Exactly, this kid and his family I am sure know exactly what they want. As most recruits do. It doesn't mean that they cant entertain other offers and see what they have to offer. I think he is an outstanding talent that I cant wait to see when he gets here.
  5. I am going to go ahead and put somewhat of a positive spin on this. AS Arrogant as Dantonio is he is a really good coach and I think there is no doubt about it, but this also tells me that He knew being a great coach that he would have to have some sort of a leg up on us to beat us, at home none the less. it also tells me that he knows he needed to separate his team from us with a blowout win to really be in the talks of the elite undoubtedly. At least our staff showed that even with that lead and the fact that it took so long to figure out what they were doing, we still came back with valiant effort and damn neared won the game. You could even see the fear in his eyes after they won, and the comments he made that he knew that we would have won this game. Kudos to him, but we really really need another shot at them!!
  6. I really don't think Baylor would be able to put up the points against Us or Mich St. they rely ALOT on the inside run game and that is the strength of both of our D's. Also as their coach said they rely on the toughness of their line to move the ball. I also think this would play into Our and the Spartans hands. But for us to really even have a chance, win out obviously, but would have to have some convincing wins in there as well. Miss St well if they would have beat Auburn convincingly, Alabama needs to lose, one of the Mississippi schools will have to lose which will be Ole Miss (I think?) Notre Lame has to have a hiccup just for my self-satisfaction and because they always look pretty to many media folk. Karma will catch up to Florida St. and when it does I hope they pay greatly. Well I guess I am trying to say A lot has to happen but you never know!!!! GBR
  7. ehh. I can see where the OP is going with this and think that others are taking what he/she said way out of context. Its not like the op said that they should start the 2's or take the ones out for a quarter. I think there are positions that this needs to happen like on the lines which I think they do pretty well at that. But, when you have a really good skilled position player on D or O that doesn't take the abuse that the line gets you just cant take them out just because unless of course they are struggling mightily.
  8. Well he did drop a TD pass in the last game. I am betting he remembers that one more than the great catches though. Just seems like that type of competitor. .
  9. That's because Dr. Osborne said that would be a big factor in the deciding the first four!! Or maybe because we would have a better chance of winning IDK One of the two.
  10. Well as far as Love and Santos I think we could use their size especially against Minnie.
  11. Oh yeah...You can bet your ass that NW will have some sort of similar approach it will just be a little more difficult since Bo had made it public about the "cheating" Mich St. did. My opinion it was really smart and they did their home work, but the knowing the paly before it happens well they can not control that and they will have to adjust I am sure opposing coaches have been making calls and watching lots of video. Our Oline has to be really disciplined from here on out.
  12. How quickly do you suggest they should have realized and adjusted? It took MSU doing it a few times for the players to realize what was happening and then they switched the signal. Since MSU was doing it on plays that ended drives, the times they did it stretched over several drives and therefore half a quarter. I had to respond just to this one and then this needs to end. (I haven't been on here for a little while) How quickly, well ok I will be reasonable how about the second series in a row that the D ends/ LB's blew by our tackles and laid out our QB and RB in a very forceful manner? I said before I thought anyway that I wasn't just talking about the clapping and fooling our players as much as they figured out what we were doing as far as snap count and/or procedure in doing so and shifts and motions and what we were running. Really don't have to know all of the details when you are two steps in the backfield to figure out where the ball is as our Tackles are trying to catch up. That is the part where we needed to change things up a bit to give our Oline...well the offense a chance to work.
  13. Can I get a list of players that are playing every snap first? Please?
  14. I wasn't only talking about the clapping I guess but yeah I guess. They obviously knew the cadence and had done their homework. They took some chances on encroachment penalties off of how we snap the ball and it paid off Big Time for them. I just wish the coaches would have realized this and adjusted sooner.
  15. It definitely explains how our Oline went from pretty good to God Awful, even if they are a really good Defense. I guess Kudos to them for doing their homework. But, whats more alarming to me more than the fact that we weren't focused enough to get past it, was the fact the coaching staff didn't catch on to this before the fourth or even half way through the third quarter. Attention to detail has to be better throughout the whole team including the coaches.
  16. This really is kind of embarrassing!! For Christ sakes, I agree with Jason Peter Quit whining and play the damn game!! Although I am starting to question whether Pelini would have listened if someone would have told DURING the game that they were throwing the count off by clapping and knowing how we use the clap count. They knew when to rush, hell I think even before our own players. Ridiculous
  17. We have! He is a great athlete, but does not know the playbook. He played in the 4th qtr. and was involved in the bunching of WR. It is only a matter of time. LMAO everyone's excuse. Its not hard to teach a WR slant, out & Up, curl route, post rout, fade, corner route. Every team in the nation has Freshman wr's that can run pass routes and catch. Its not that hard. the #9 and 10 ranked receivers in the country in yards are FRESHMAN. Wasn't he the one that ran into Hovey causing the interception on the final play of the game? I know Hovey has a role in this too, but that's kinda a big deal. No. The DB knocked Hovey off his route and that's why they were asking for a interference call after the int. which should have been called, just one more to add to the list. TA needs to make better reads the receivers need to run better routes (young receivers) but the game didn't get lost there it was lost by the Oline play the rest of the game. No matter if it was Scheme that caused the problem or just a really bad day for the oline.
  18. I absolutely couldn't believe the diamond formation wasn't used more. But, I guess if the Oline was going to completely whiff and played like a bunch of scared babies well it wouldn't have worked anyway. The other RB's could have helped the tackles with double teams I guess and maybe that would have helped, but they didn't play with any fire until Tommy sucked it up(I in no means am saying that in a bad way) and came back in to the game after getting knocked out of the game.
  19. I didn't read all of this so if this has been said sorry. But, they are coached to read the eyes which is the best way to cover. When you read the eyes you have to be able to determine when the ball is close and the eyes never lie that's why you make plays on what their eyes tell you. They will have to obviously get better at this and I agree Cook wouldn't have made a lot of the passes he did if the Db's would have trusted their instincts a little more.
  20. we aren't talking about LOTS of other players. We are talking about Tai. Thread title should've given that away. I also never said he wasn't going to get any better, I said he never got any better as last season went on. If you want to refute anything I said about Tai, that's fine. just make sure it's things I said about him. Well if iam reading the posts correctly it doesn't sound like you really give him a chance, but this is a computer and you are not here so it is sometimes hard to read. (constructive criticism maybe?)
  21. At Halftime Sparty--24 Huskers--10 Second half we settle in: Huskers--31 Sparty--27 Rushing--288 Pass--205 1-pick 6 and three INT's total
  22. If they are loading up and bringing people off the edge, you wouldn't direct your run game toward the edge. We will run it right behind our guards, right up the gut with Ameer, Imani, Newby and Tommy like we have been all year. Either way, I think they will mix it up quite a bit to try to keep us guessing. It will be more about making the right reads off that jet sweep and a few times even getting lucky and catching them in the wrong spots. You won't always be perfect running a read option, with everything happening so quickly, but when you catch them out of position, you make them pay for it. I'm really looking forward to seeing some play action passing from Tommy. I think Michigan State is going to bank on stopping Ameer and making Tommy beat them. I think Tommy can make enough plays to do so at this point. It may not be perfect, but what we get will be big just as it has been. Of course, MSU may not have any success stopping Ameer and in that case, run, run, run and play defense. Uh yeah should have clarified, I am saying hit the edge with a lead blocker. The back has to hit the hole that's open. The diamond formation just gives us the opportunity to have the right angle to take the safety or LB off the edge. also play action out of that with a quick pop or slant pass would work as well.
