  2. Adrian Martinez is the best punt returner since Santino Panico.
  3. @J-MAGIC How many years does he have administering a major football program? I hear that's a pretty big sport at Nebraska.
  4. Interesting that he used the same sort of 'everybody having their own role' message as on this clip from a few years ago: And we hired an ex-Wisconsin guy and, you know...
  5. Even if the timing is odd, Solich is 76 now, so retirement isn't exactly a surprise. He's about six years older than Osborne was when he became AD, and about the same age as when Osborne retired as AD.
  6. Says on the next tweet "Coach Solich will stay on in Ohio Athletic Department as an advisor to @juliecromerOHIO and a resource to our students, coaches and staff." @Mavric Reminds me of Stoops. I still wonder what the real story was there...
  7. @Stumpy1 Got some sauce on that? Looks like he's currently WR coach at Peru State?
  8. I expect the O-line to be pretty much B1G average this year. (Need to get RG spot figured out, though.) Not expecting greatness, but I'm not nearly as worried about them as I am WRs and RBs.
  9. Best since T-Mart, at least. T-Mart had much better guys around him, though.
  10. @Nebraska55fan Martin should be around #3. He was tied for #2 receiving yards in the spring game, and will probably a starter. Swap Manning & Toure.
  11. And we probably need it. I've been oscillating between majorly concerned and cautiously optimistic about the WRs (and RBs). I feel like the starting WRs could be a pretty solid group this year, but if even one of them goes down (Manning), things could get dicey in a hurry. If nothing else, we're getting more options.
  12. * his second junior season.
  13. Brewington does appear to know where the weight room is. Martin was a 4* recruit. Doesn't mean much until he shows it on the field, of course, but at the very least it's decent potential.
  14. I dunno if there's anything definitive out there. Some rumblings that he had been spending too much time at his ranch and not enough time in Nebraska. Some rumblings that Moos liked to drink a little too much when he was out in public or with some boosters, but if there's anything to that, it was probably a 'straw that broke the camel's back' sort of deal. Whatever it was, it was apparently a problem worth spending $3 million to get rid of...
  15. Speaking of baseball hires...
  16. Apparently we've got one Kyan Brumfield coming in from Texas Tech? He was a walk-on at TT, so I assume he will be here as well.
  17. At least get like an Audi A7 or something!
  18. Being stuck using Wan'dale as an RB had absolutely nothing to do with the O-line. Seriously, I know there were some injuries and covid to deal with, but Held couldn't get anyone ready to play besides Mills, at the position that's usually one of the easiest for newcomers?!
  19. I'm more skeptical of Held than I am of anyone else on this coaching staff. At this point, he looks a lot like Keith Williams: all recruiting hype and no production.
  20. Remind me who this guy is again? Looks like some random dude with a few Twitter followers.
  21. @JJ Husker Between 1894 and 1940, Nebraska won 18 solo conference championships and shared several more, and had four undefeated seasons (plus a 7-0-1 season). From 1941 and 1962 (22 seasons) the Cornhuskers won zero championships and only finished in the AP top 20 once. You know the rest of the story!
  22. Tennessee meets those criteria, none since 2001, same as us. There's also schools like Minnesota and Pitt that were major programs, but went through such stretches, and kept on going...
