  1. Your seat belt is twisted. Not safe dude. hahaha
  2. jeeeez. I had to take that class as an elective last year, talk about the biggest waste of time and money!!
  3. Thats awesome to hear. I had the privilege of meeting Cody the weekend he moved in last year. I would have to say he was one of the most down to earth guys I have ever met in my life. I'm glad he's still that way, because sometimes when you join a team or just meet new people, it's easy to change the way you act to fit in better.
  4. I heard he broke his thumb on the last play. At the end of the game though he didn't look to be in too much pain, Taylor came up and they talked a little before he went into the locker room.
  5. I personally don't attribute the loss to just 1 thing. Sure if we went for it on 4th and 1 and converted it we win. Same goes if West/O'Hanlan were on the same page, and didn't get beat. If we had scored on our final drive when it was 1st and Goal from the 6 we would have won. If Prince's (I liked how the announcers called him 'The Prince' during the game lol) reach was 1/2 an inch longer the pass would've been knocked down. If Suh had gotten more of Taylor's jersey when he threw it. The list goes on and on... I'm happy that the game was as close as it was, I still get nervous in these big games because the 2007 season still looms in the back of my head. Just look how far we've come thus far, our defense is much better, and we can only improve from here. I think the game will help our team mature.
  6. I agree with this completely. Going into the game I was nervous they would run on us more, especially given how young our LBs are. We played pretty good defense (given that Va Tech's offense wasn't overly impressive today), and I am looking forward to how much better we will get in the year. Just to put it in perspective, not even 2 years ago we were 118th in defense. Although I'm slightly disappointed in Lee's play, you have to take into consideration this was his first road game, and his third start. From what I heard through the TV (and unfortunately that drive we had 1st and Goal at the 6 yd line), the fans did an excellent job of complicating our calls, and decreasing Lee's composure. Overall I think the game was a good road experience for our young team, and it will provide a nice transition into conference play, after the Lafayette game of course. GBR!
  7. cya tomorrow! It's too addicting to not check back
  8. That was the perfect thing to say lol. Time heals all wounds. I was so pissed after the game, but even now I realize we show improvement from last year, and a night and day difference from 2 years ago. We need to remember how young and inexperienced our receivers and quarterbacks are. That was the first road game for most of them, and it wasn't an easy place to play at. I think we'll only improve the rest of the season.

  10. Very nice pic sir. Set it as my background, though I wish it fit a little better!
  11. I once asked Collins if I could call him Collin for short. He said no.
  12. Good to hear he's back. Hopefully he'll get some playing time soon.
  13. Collins wouldn't have been accepted into Stanford based on academics, or his ACT/SAT score. He made the bare minimum to even be considered by Stanford, and his athletic abilities took over from there. REALLY??? He graduated with a 4.0 GPA if my memory serves me correctly from Westside HS. Where did you get your facts? If you have proof of such scores please post them for eveyone! OK, He left the team... He is also only 19 or 20. I for one wish him the best in anything he does in the future. Just because it didn't work out for him here doesn't mean he is a bad kid. 3.5 actually according to Rivals, he is an extremely smart kid. I know some people at his former school. Yes he did go to Westside HS in Omaha. Some people spout off at the mouth about a kid before they now anything about him. Sad to see him go, he is a good kid with a great attitude. Can't blame him, though. If you had the chance to go to Stanford for free when you know you aren't going to play pro ball, wouldn't you? Imagine his contacts out in the "real world" from a place like Stanford. Not going to argue his grades/ACT/SAT because i have no clue about any of those... I do know he dropped out of Calc 1 in the summer before his freshman year.. 1st off, he was obviously intelligent to be IN the class, that's more the point im tryin to make here.. Cotton and Levorsen (sp) seemed to do pretty well, so i'm guessing Collins needed it for a math credit and didn't wanna take it then...I remember ben sayin somethin to the TA like collins just didn't like it, so whatever that means... So saying he's 'stupid' or whatever really isn't that accurate.... I wasn't calling him stupid by any means, I know he's a bright kid. I lived on the same floor as him last year, so I got the chance to become decent friends with him. For some reason he liked to hang out with me and another average-joe friend and play Rockband every night, so we really got to understand what he went through. That said, having come out of high school 2 years ago, I can vouch that you need more than just a 4.0 in high school to go to Stanford or Ivy leagues. A 4.0 in high school isn't overwhelmingly hard to achieve, which is why Stanford requires a very high SAT score. Not if you can play football, they go by the Pac-10 standards. Having only come out of high school 2 years ago, you should have known that. Never heard anybody use that as a reason for obtaining knowledge before. That was the point I was making, so I must have made it. I wasn't attributing Rockband to his knowledge, I was explaining that it was a shared interest we had with him, which let us get to know him throughout the year pretty good.

  16. I believe Collins will be headed towards Standford, where he was offered a scholarship last year (but chose UNL). On scholarship, though? I would think he'd have to be a walk-on player at this point. Of course, I don't know their roster situation, but just seems odd they'd give him a football scholarship. Yeah, I highly doubt they offer him a scholarship; we'll just have to see.

  18. I think I have seen the most improvement in Larry Asante. Not only has he had a couple big plays (forced fumble), but I also noticed his sportsmanship. I remember the Colorado game last year he taunted Hawkins after Suh's pick-6 while he was on the ground. This season I see him helping up other players (I know Sun Belt teams are different than CU), which is respectable. This is coming from a student, and I'll be the first to tell you that the student section has no love for Larry. As for the best performance so far, I have been impressed with Burkhead. I constantly have to remind myself he's a true freshman, and I just can't wait to see how good he'll be in a couple of years.
  19. Funny that you said your band was rather disappointing Cacti. I was sitting in section 140, which was basically right where your band was pointed at, and I could hear them over our band. Of course they were blasting their music our way, and our band your way, so your band really wasn't that bad (I couldn't hear our band at all where I was sitting). Overall the Gator Bowl was a good first bowl game that I have been to (being only 18), but I was disappointed in Jacksonville as a town. I was very impressed with the class the Clemson fans showed. I wore a Cornhead, and at first I just got some weird looks, but once the booze started flowing I think I ended up in 10+ pictures of random Clemson fans. Would love to play you guys again!!! GBR
  20. I do think he will be drafted, but not nearly as early of a round as he would've been if he went pro last year.
