But I'm old and my memory..... I also remember after the Arizona game, Stoops said we really beat them up physically. We went down hill from there.

I saw that. They did just win the Pac 12 title after all. First one for both. I don't see the Riley/Frost thing working. They run vastly different systems and Riley is his own OC.

Bo's not getting hired this year. He's radioactive. Play that audio tape about the fans and show his "highlight" film and there's not a big school president in America who will hire him. He needs some downtime so he can claim he's grown up.

The announcers of the Ducks/Wildcats game just gushed over UNL's hiring of Riley calling it a perfect fit. They also gushed while speaking of Frost. Stated CSU should carefully consider hiring him.

He can put the staff together during the dead period which is a few weeks from now.

I wouldn't bank on him coming to Lincoln. Just a hunch, but I don't see OSU's DC following Coach Riley. Banker first stepped onto the OSU campus in 1997 with Riley, and has spent 17 of the last 18 seasons with him. Including being the DC with the San Diego Chargers, he's coming with him. The beat writer from The Oregonian just told Benning that she felt Banker was going be fired by Riley and didn't think he'd come to Lincoln. Who knows?

No charges were filed because the woman refused to speak. The players denied, and still deny, any involvement. Tough position for Coach Riley.

Riley is from Corvallis and felt at home there. But over the past three years, he's gotten stale. Obviously with this move, OSU became stale to Riley as well. At least that's my opinion based on reports over the years.

That struck me as odd, too. You'd think he'd have a pretty full Rolodex by now. Yeah...I think he has been pretty isolated...but it still something that kind of bugs me a bit...1. Really well respected but might not know a lot of guys 2. Might be bringing most/all of his old staff 3. You guys need to let him take care of business. He's got 40 more years experience than you and he knows what he's doing. He hasn't said one positive thing since Bo was canned.

Expect Coach O to demand more than that if we pursue him. Maybe. He doesn't have a job right now.

After being apoplectic yesterday, I feel much better today about the hire. Mike did some really good things at OSU...my alma mater. He's the anti-Bo and will do fine about UNL. I still don't think he's the homerun we were promised. More like a ground rule double.

I don't think that's true. Riley was in California last night recruiting a kid to OSU. Also, the recruits knew of Riley's leaving before his assistants did. I don't see Riley doing either of those things if he knew he was leaving for UNL.

Does he have any other choice? No, but I'd rather he didn't make himself available t the media than fib. Yeah, there's a possibility he's fibbing, but I think he's not coming.
