  1. I talked to some Beaver fans today and they're disappointed as well. They want the real Big 10 champ: Ohio State. Their rational was why play a "champ" who backed into the title while another team was clearly better. Throw in a higher ranking and a win at UCLA the week after we lost there. Okay, none of that happened. But the facts speak for themselves. Some of our fans are getting a little too cocky about being in a BCS game. We only have that opportunity because Ohio State can't go. Some are throwing the "Top 14" thing around as if we're rated there ourselves. We're not. Oregon State is having played the fifth toughest schedule nationally while beating both UCLA and Wisconsin. You guys remember UCLA right? Most yards given up ever ring a bell? OSU beat 'em. The Beavers are 4-0 against the Top 30 while we're 1-2. The Beavers deserve a lot more respect than some fans are giving them. After all, they're more deserving of the Rose Bowl berth than we are.
  2. Oregon's D let me down yesterday, but their O is unstoppable.
  3. I know many of us want our boys to be a contender. We're just not yet. The whole IF game can be played with a lot of schools. We're pretty decent, but we're not Top 10 in the polls, in talent or in coaching.
  4. If Nebraska was playing Oregon with one week to prepare I might be inclined to agree. However, Nebraska vs Oregon in the Rose Bowl with 5 weeks to prepare evens out the odds. Like South Carolina and Washington? This Oregon team blows out this Nebraska team no matter where or when they play. USC gave up the most points and yards in their history. Oregon's defense had their first bad game, but Taylor can't throw like Barkley.
  5. Remember they had a pick 6 called back for a stupid mental error. Without that, we lose.
  6. Yep, I went to the Fiesta Bowl I mentioned above. 70/30 in the stands for OSU.
  7. What? What an unabashed lie. No one likes Nd out here. The majority of Ca residents are, -PAC 8(10)(12) alums who hate Notre Dame. -alums of lesser CA schools who pick a PAC 12 team to follow and by proxy hate Nd, or are transplants from another area who....hates ND. Seriously, your views border on the insane. I remember when Oregon State beat Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. There were way more OSU fans there than Notre Dame fans. And we're talking the Fiesta Bowl here. We on the left coast do not like Notre Dame and never understand why they are always ranked. Their main fan base is in Indiana and the northeast.
  8. They're defense is solid, but it's not spectacular by any means. Don't get me wrong, I definitely think we lose badly, but I think our offense would do fairly well. 30+ points and 400 yards at least... Ohhh, I don't think so. Their defense is the best they've had maybe ever. Lots of fast guys all over the field. The vast majority of the points and yards they've given up this season has come after halftime when their 3rd and 4th string guys are in.
  9. is DONU. He has our boys going down to MSU by 3. He talks about MSU's excellent defense without talking about our offense that ranks first in the B1G I believe. Over the last 10 years, I haven't felt too confident in big/bigger games. I feel confident about this one. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/stewart_mandel/11/01/week-10-pickoff/index.html?eref=sihp&sct=hp_t12_a0
  10. What position do you play on the Nebraska team? lol HEY...a true husker fan considers themself apart of the team Freudian slip?
  11. They don't HAVE to, but they will. The Rose Bowl wants a Pac 12 team. Getting them to agree to take a non-Pac12 team every four years was like pulling teeth. The Rose Bowl is loyal to the Pac 12 and B1G. JTrain made an interesting observation regarding Notre Dame and the Rose Bowl. I will be curious to see if they do take Notre Dame. You see, Notre Dame is a very popular team....on the east coast and midwest. You have a better chance of finding a leprechaun on the west coast than you do a Notre Dame fan. That will be interesting if they have to choose between Notre Dame and a 2 loss Oregon State team.
  12. In other words, Big12 screwed up. Cross divisional matchup was supposed to be OU vs. NU, every year. Oklahoma asked the Big 12 not to schedule UNL every year. They preferred to play UT every year instead of DONU.
  13. If he's allowed to, it would be great. But it's his decision.
  14. I completely disagree, Kstate has more of a tough schedule this year, and has beaten everyone they were suppose to lose to. KSU will stay at #2 as long as they stay undefeated and have a decent margin of victory. I am hoping ND and Bama get beat in these upcoming weeks. Therefore it would be Kstate vs Oregon lol Agree w/ you here. Tossup though. With USC losing last week, the oregeon/usc game is no longer enough to put them on top of kstate at this point. Oregon's schedule strength is getting worse by the week. Cal. won't help any. The only thing that will help them is they finish against Oregon State, and they'll have a championship game to play in. Unfortunately for Oregon - their opponent will probably be a 3-4 loss team. The Big12 might find out how important that championship game was this year. Then again, Oregon has been at the top of the rankings for a couple years now and never had a chance to play for it all. K-State is realtively new to the scene. They lost to Cam Newton on a last second field goal 2 years ago.
  15. Please, no stupid penalties. O-line, do your job. Beck, don't abandon the run too quickly. D-line, buck up and use the energy in the stadium. Linebackers, move your feet and tackle somebody. DB's, catch the damn ball. Bo, show us that defensive genius.
  16. Poorly written. Obviously not a Northwestern alum. That said, I guess he'd rather watch his team play in a half empty stadium. It was obvious on TV that Huskers made up 60% of that crowd. He should be happy NU received all of that money for the athletic department.
  17. Good point. I'm also impressed that Martinez put up better numbers with a tougher SOS than Michigan. And I was totally surprised he threw fewer INTs than Miller or Robinson. I have been definitely taking his contributions for granted. They played Alabama.
  18. They pulled out of playing Oregon this season. I hope they're not rewarded for that.
  19. Troy Calhoun is from my hometown. He's known for being an upstanding individual.
  20. Absolutely the offense made mistakes. They also made up for their mistakes by scoring 38 points, earning 437 yards and winning the TOP battle, 31:52 to 28:08. When the defense made mistakes, they flat-out folded. Taylor was 15-25 with a TD and three picks. He threw for 214 yards. I'd say that's going a long way to atoning for the sin of three INTs. Meanwhile, the defense gives up 371 yards rushing, and nobody is posting threads about the tone, tenor and intent behind their pressers. The D gave up 9 yards per play in the last 3 quarters. Nine yards.
  21. Fans want to be mentioned as a national power year after year. Just like the old days.
