  1. Also, try not spending money on Beats, TV's, tattoo's, bars....priorities...
  2. What bothers me about this subject is that players are choosing to play. If they want their money, quit and get a job. They are getting more reimberssment in intagables AND money than the some arbitrarily high percentage of students, scholarship or not. I made it through 4 years of college and 4 years of post grad living on quite a bit less than $1300 a month they get, and residency on next to nothing. I trained to kickbox/fight competitively (about 3-4 hours a day) and still managed to get my 6000+ calories a day in my budget without free food or supplements. Managed to go out to a movie, grab a beer, go out every once and while etc Sorry but I have absolutely no sympathy for it. Some (definitely not all) wouldn't even be in a university otherwise let alone passing. They are getting a degree which they might not have obtained or at least paving their way to a future in sports. Are they making millions for the university? Sure...that's what pays for their food, their jerseys, their brand new cleats, and gear, and sweatshirts etc etc etc. I did research for my university that helped bring in millions of dollars in grants. Paid? Nope. Bitch about it? Nope, its called putting in your time in your field of choice.
  3. I thought that was a good walk off interview by Bo. Pleasant, respectful and actually answered the questions instead of eating her face off. He even slowed down for her to finish the talk...bo in rare form. New 2014 bo? Haha I like what he said about coming back out. On another note the production value of this game is super bush league...terrible angles, terrible camera work, bad sound. Could barely see that field goal. Sad..
  4. Surprisingly there are lots. It sucks because back when he was hired I thought he was the right guy for the job. He lost me for good today. I don't give a f#*k what he said in his press-conference. It is painful watching our team f#*k themselves over and over and over and over and over.... What is more painful is watching teams come in and take it to us. Our lines are soft. Teams do to us what we used to do to them, and that just boggles my mind. I'm sick of this wussy spread crap. Recruit for a definitive system. Year 6 I still have no idea what we are trying to accomplish on O. Spread mixed with power run, mixed with the option and zone read with basic principles of the WCO thrown in to compliment the smash mouth, "take what the defense gives us" has equalled an epic fail in all phases. I am still of the opinion that you can not recruit an OL who can excel in all phases of the game ie pass pro, run blocking, pulling, cut block etc..... develop a scheme, become great at it and recruit those kids. It lessens the available recruits, but also lessens teams looking for their services. Recruit kids who exhibit mental and physical toughness. Look past the stars and see a kid with "lesser" abilities who excels. Kids who have faced adversity in HS and know what it takes to win. Recruit mean. You either are or your not. You can't teach mean. I too, hate seeing teams punch us in the mouth series after series until we quit. Tapping out because the hits are to hard (my opinion). Our guys getting laid out instead of laying guys out. There is an old adage that holds true, "The more you bleed in training, the less you bleed in combat". Maybe we train to "soft" in practice and the weight room...... so true, we are known for nothing...no great linemen, no great qbs, no great defense....nothing, not jack! Actually we are known for jack #espy
  5. Do you make 290k a month though?
  6. I agree. Saw the game first hand tonight. Damn proud. Damn proud!! This one falls on coaching and coordinating. Heart strings pulling for Armstrong
  7. Even while getting raped all night by uncalled holding. I know this is a pass play but pretty bad. There was another play where (I think it was an LB?) got basically tackled from behind while making a rush...no call. Mentioned it in another thread, but would love to see the defense start throwing the bones! Lights out tonight, mm mm lovin it
  8. Really longing to see Gregory tear somebody apart and then THROW THE BONES! Need to see more of it
  9. Even if we lost that game, that is the freaking effort we need. That's the heart the soul the camaraderie we desire. That is the passion f husker football we love. Lots of credit all the way around. I tested fate, and God taught me better. Full faith in Bo is a stretch but if he can bring that effort and CROWD every week I'll be a happy soul. Drink is on
  10. Second'd Knapp: elequent, well put and with heart as always.
  11. The enunwa pass was borderline either way...not thrown super well but not super catchable. I'm just saying the blame goes both ways. I've heard a lot of arguments against the recievers, but Ronnie Rolo's Kellog was what- some 80% with his passes? It just seems to an mildly educated eye that balls thrown by other QB's seem to be more catchable...better placed? IDK. I don't think any of martinez's decisions were bad, less the interception. I just think they weren't placed great. He's had better days. He's got broken toes, hip spur, and a broken shoulder? I wouldn't even be able to hold a football let alone throw one.
  12. Hits your hands ....it's catchable So, if you can touch a basketball rim fully extended with one finger, you should be expected to dunk a basketball? He's not touching that ball with one finger at full extension. The bulk of that ball is below the top of his fingers. That's a catch that Kenny makes - that he has to make - 99 of 100 times. I'm not here to tell you that Taylor played a great game because we all know he didn't. But those four dropped passes were critical, and while we've got our tar and feathers out for Martinez, shouldn't there be some to spare for our two star WRs who, literally, dropped the ball? If we have antipathy for the quarterback and not the receivers, that says more about us than it says about the quarterback. It was also a pass that led Kenny Bell to get the crap kicked out of him... Two of those balls (one for sure, two if memory serves correct) that were missed were on slant routes that the ball was thrown high and behind, the absolute ONE place a slant route should NEVER be thrown. There is some blame to be placed on ball placement.
  13. I sure miss the bones being thrown after a great play too. I see where you're coming from, however there is a difference to me in flexing muscles at the sideline of Purdue over their player, and just getting up and throwing the bones to the crowd. Maybe I misinterpreted it, I'm not sure. I agree with the original point about attitude. I feel there is a lot of this going on, but I can't help but wonder what makes them feel worthy of this feeling? What has been done in the last 3 years to suggest that this is applicable? Which brings me to the post about the locker room....that probably actually has some validity. There will be arguments about what is needed to grab recruits, but I believe that a team that plays well, plays tough, wins their games and ignites the fandom across the lands will be much better for recruiting than any Ipad, pool table or crap. (I can hear the "can't win without good recruits) But no doubt is that crap distracting.
  14. He didn't help his case throwing the muscles at Purdue sidelines. Part of me still feels he might not have gotten the flag if he didn't do that...or at least the ejection may har been overturned
  15. Classy, that was actually my point to you sir I don't feel classy, though. I feel pretty tired. Got a lot of chores done around watching the game today. I feel pretty grimy and in need of a shower. But your posts have actually been classy, even if I disagree with your take on this thread. Cheers back at ya. Sorry 75 hour work week during the game ends in razor sharp moods. Husker win should be cheers round!!!
  16. Classy, that was actually my point to you sir
  17. Don't be an ass He only voiced what everyone thought. Yet we've all thumbed through it to the bottom Because others came in and actually talked football. The OP provided nothing besides a mention of the defense and a shrug of the shoulders. Meanwhile, there was a thread specifically about the defense providing numbers and names, started before this one. Rather than post in that thread, the OP started his own. With nothing. These threads typically get gif-bombed to oblivion, locked or merged into other, real threads. But because I was being "an ass" as you put it, I didn't do any of those things. I don't need any help from the peanut gallery, but if I do, I'll be sure to PM you next time. Yes well instead of coming with my original intent with stats regarding potential troubles against Braxton and co, about 30 minutes of research I see your comment. So instead of being high and mighty about your own thread, getting pissy at me, then lock it down. Gif away
  18. UGA will still be above us in the polls. They *might* even still be ranked above Mizzou this week. It'll be close. There's an 18 spot difference between UGA and Mizzou right now. That will officially make the polls a joke. I hate Mizzery, but 6-0 , beating Georgia IN Georgia, and then a decisive victory at that, means you need to be a top 10 team immediately. I really HATE to admit that I agree with this statement but it's true

  20. Karsaire

    Afalava

Looked solid in the second half. Thought he'd be a stud before the year started, we'll see if he can get there. Will be keenly interested to see who takes the mike. Needs to happen soon though
  21. That BIG refs refuse to call blatant holding? That goes both ways last game
  22. I think those were some wise words between those two that illustrate the difficulties in an evolving college football game. I wonder if it will make full circle and in 15 years the new trend will lean towards power football again
