  1. They can now farm games out to other D1 programs in the region (Nebraska, Creighton, Iowa State, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State) and make a few bucks out of it. I think people are knocking this too much. What are they supposed to do losing money when they get an offer to go D1? They needed to make cuts, and going D1 gave Trev a reason to make those cuts.
  2. Parking is easy. You can park in the garage there (pay the fee on the way out), the meters directly adjacent to the hawk center in the parking lot between the stadium and the overpass, the meters near the music building, the meters near the Teaching building, the lot between the dorms and Teacher's College Hall, possibly the garage near the dorms (not sure never checked to see if it was colored or pay like the stadium garage) or for free either somewhere in the neighborhoods around 22nd between R and Y or in the North Bottonms.
  3. Of course you guys won, you ship in the talent from overseas!
  4. Crew, you should get out of that valley and hit up some other mountains if you stay more than 2-3 days. WP is decent but not worth a week trip. Enjoy the snow, last time I was there we got 36 inches in 3 days.

  5. Big East and Big Ten are always going to be deeper than the XII
  6. You'd be pissed too if you were taking a paycut, with little chance for future raises because you are unable to even talk about them with your boss.
  7. It appears to be wrapped up that Gilmore is going to USC

  8. Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, USC, UCLA, Cal, Oregon, BYU, Utah, Virginia Tech, Florida State, there are many "decent" two-sport schools that have ups and downs. They all see the dance more than us and conference titles nearly as much as our "recent" run...
  9. Statistically, 13 of them being hospitalized means something is fishy. Math doesn't lie. What is that, a few % of the athletic population of Univ. of Iowa?
  10. Northwestern doesn't play Ohio State or Wisconsin next year. This could mean we beat them and lose the division...
  11. This may be a case where someone would struggle in the classroom and turn out academically ineligible anyways. All props to Braylon for potentially working his ass off to pursue his dreams, and I hope he continues to better himself in whatever ways he can. However, we are talking about a University system here, and that may not be in his immediate future.
  12. You'd think players would relish the opportunity to take their game to the Big Ten and see a whole slew of new stadiums and play a whole set of new teams.
  13. Probably just pushed himself into the first round
  14. Yes. For all the talk of it not being geographical, throw up a map of the states (as miami did in a previous thread) and it's pretty strikingly not randomly distributed across the map. Ah, here's a map, from HI. Non geographic split? C'mon, Big Ten guys...did you even look at the map first?! Northwest and Southeast Divisions. A conference with 12 teams being called the Big 10 should have no problem with one team (Wisconsin) being out of place. I had to look to see if someone had said this so I didn't post it again. Seriously though, Northwest is awful, just choose north or west.
  15. Because Wisconsin and OSU are in the WCHA and Michigan/MSU used to be?
  16. Couldn't the Devaney accomodate a hockey rink?
  17. If it is scored unlike the SAT, still picking C may not be the best choice. It's similar to the Monty Hall problem. It's always better to switch your answer if you are shown an incorrect answer. If you can eliminate some non-C answers, but you have entered into the problem with your choice as C... you are reducing your chances of scoring the correct response by limiting yourself to C in all situations. You are hamstrung to a 1/4 chance on any problem where you cannot eliminate C with this method. Of course this assumes an equal distribution of correct answers to all choices (A, B, C, D)
  18. These tests generally offer partial credit equal to 1/4 of a correct answer for any left blank. In the event that you can leave all you do not know blank and get a 17, you would be better off guessing on the remaining problems. You have a 50% chance of doing better and a 50% chance of doing worse. Over a few attempts, you are bound to hit an 18. Answering all C, however, on those you do not know is not advisable. You are essentially assuring yourself the same score as if you had left them blank as the test (if appropriately derived) would not have a larger number of correct answers constituting "C" than other answers. You would be shooting about 1/4 as always. It is generally best to eliminate any answers you are sure are incorrect and guess among the remaining answers. This should statistically raise your score most of the time over leaving them blank. A better choice in regards to answering all the same letter would be to count the answers you have indicated for each letter and use the least used answer for the remainder of the problems. This still is not the best test-taking strategy as noted above.
  19. Some people forget we are playing worldbeaters at DL often and are still not allowing a tremendous amount of sacks. Taylor also needs to learn to throw it away. Many of the DL we see will be starting on Sundays in the near future.
  20. This could really drop a bomb on Texas. Lets say, for instance, that Muschamp pilfers some of Texas top assistants to fill roles as OC and DC at Florida. Who does Mack Brown replace them with? How many recruits were deciding between schools who will be swayed? Texas A&M could be a big beneficiary of this. Implementing a new system means another loss in the south next year to Oklahoma? Brown begins being questioned next year and they go for a new face possibly. In the end, this leads to a 2-3 year rebuilding cycle and Texas A&M as a rising program takes over the top talent recruitment in the state of Texas. They are on a precarious perch here.
  21. Haha, well, I hate your brother. I graduated from Denison last year... They kick our @sses in pretty much everything. Anyway, assuming this kid somehow qualifies, I cannot vouch for his talent level being better than Wegher's, but let's hope he has more staying power... Denison? My pops is from Denison
  22. Big Red, there is a homebrew store in Lincoln. When starting out, they will set you up with what you need and you can buy a kit that has instructions and all the ingredients you will need.
