  1. Two, eh? That's also the number of our players who "showed up" for the game. Terrible performance, shameful really, to lose to such a team. A major black eye for the Husker football program. But congrats to the Huskies for their best win of the last several years...
  2. No, but you see, that was a very dark decade of Nebraska football (and still a touchy subject around here) yet it would still constitute the best decade of UW's football history. Do you see the difference?
  3. Claiming 4 national titles seems a bit of a stretch. Even UW only claims 2 titles (1960, and 1991). 1991 was a split with UW getting the AP, and Miami getting the Coaches and 1960 was a split of 5 teams (UW's claim is WEAK) as Ole Miss and Minnesota split the major polls and UW only received one of the several other "national championships". Legitimately, you have 1 split national title (1991). And I know we're in the B1G now, but why are you people so obsessed with the Rose Bowl??? It's weird. You folks and your parades...
  4. But the lack of quality college football is quite a concern. Somebody should look into that...
  5. Huskers >>> Huskies, but as far as physical location, Washington >>> Nebraska. Cascade mountains and Pacific ocean >>>>> sandhills and corn fields... I don't care about politics.
  6. Does sounding like an awkward 5th grade kid during interviews help a team win football games? Is one skill (football skill, ability to present yourself as an intelligent human being) mutually exclusive of the other? I REALLY think that TM will be a GREAT QB but his interviews make me cringe even more than seeing a pass headed towards Niles Paul last year. Turner did a great job with the interview. We have a ton of talent in the freshman class this year and with a sophomore QB, we are set up to have a very exciting couple of years.
  7. But as new B1G members, once you join the SEC we are required to hate you... (BTW, nice job in exposing UT again. Your decision makes our decision look even better.)
  8. Crouch and Frazier were not in the early stages of rebuilding a program from the ground up. They benefited from the foundation that had been built for them. They were also surrounded by an incredible group of players who were not having to learn a new offense. TM will be very good, maybe even great. I really LIKE the fact that the offense struggled a little bit. I have a great deal of trust in Beck and sometimes getting punched in the mouth does wonders for a person's/team's focus.
  9. The only real chance UW had was if NU overlooked them. I think that chance flew out the window last December... All posturing aside, would any Husky fan put up $100 straight up for their team to win? I'm all for confidence, but not at the expense of rational thought.
  10. Whereas last year the offense should have felt bad for the fans who had to watch its dismal performance in the second half of the season...
  11. Ugh, so not all is well in Oline land... A major coach is in denial and seemingly unwilling to make necessary changes. That's the worst news I've heard about the program in a long time.
  12. As a 19 year old kid, he just joined a pretty damn nice tax bracket, without ever having done much outside of high school. I can't say I'm not jealous...
  13. I'd likely sprain my shoulder trying to sign the contract before it was taken away and then lose out on both... If he's deciding on logic, there is ONLY one choice. However, people are notorious for making decisions based on mostly emotional reasoning. Thus we're all still holding out a microscopic amount of hope.
  14. TO could see the writing on the wall. Fortunately, we not only escaped the Titanic Conference, we found a better ship all around than the Titanic ever was or could hope to be. Well done Dr. Tom.
  15. At least we can be certain that it has been/is being addressed. Other than that, I hope that they're right and not just trying to correct a PR "issue".
  16. Careful Moraine, I live in Wyoming and we make sure there are at least 10 people at each home game. Straws are drawn...
  17. Keeping him away from the media may be more important than keeping him away from opposing defenses. He handles one of those pressures much better than the other. Hopefully this is just a rumor. I'm looking forward to seeing what improvement he can make in the Freshman to Sophomore year of growth, experience, and maturity. (and healing...)
  18. Don't worry, even if it turns out to be true, he'll still start... And given his profile as a player, I'd take a broken elbow over a sprained ankle.
  19. Until they display something different, they'll retain the "Confused and Ineffective" name from last year. All offenses are unstoppable in the off season...
  20. We may be 10-20% better at 3 of the spots but Suh was a category killer. Suh played like he was 3 D linemen in one. Realistically it functioned like it was a 5-6 man front with him in the lineup. I do not believe that this line will be as good as 2009. I'd love to be wrong.
  21. I'm certainly rooting for Taylor. I hope he can become "comfortable" this year. Comfortable with the team, the pressure/responsibilities, and the media. Everything was somewhat forced/awkward last year. If last year were to "flip" where he had a slow/bad start (like the last 4 games) and a fast/magic finish (like the first 5-6 games) we wouldn't even be able to tolerate ourselves due to the excitement/expectation.
