  1. don't you know that a 6-6 season at Oregon state equals a 15-0 national championship season at Nebraska. Its simple science. This might be one of the silliest things I've ever seen on a message board. In the running for one of the dumbest, but the thread is young.
  2. Watching this reminded me of the violence that NU played with on both sides of the ball. I didn't realize the difference between BP's 2 gap read-and-react, and the way NU attacked back then. Even the NU blocking receivers kept up their blocks with an attitude throughout the play. I can see why NU intimidated so many teams back then. Please Lord, bring it back.
  3. Going to assume that's a typo. If so it's hilarious.....just the visual. If it's not a typo, well that may just be the most enigmatic thing I've read since my last tax return.
  4. I can imagine how that conversation went (JM, RK, CW, BC): RK: "JOSH!! WHY THE HELL WEREN'T YOU LINED UP PROPERLY ON THAT MIDDLE BLOCK?!?" JM: "Coach Kaz, stop yelling at me. #iknowyoudidn't" RK: "MITCHELL, PUT THAT @#$@#$@#$ PHONE AWAY AND STOP WITH THE TWEETING!!! GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME!" JM: "#helpmecoachwarren" CW: "Coach Kaz, can we calm down? It's just a simple special teams..." RK: "YOU SHUT YOUR PIEHOLE! YOU'RE STAYING, I HAVE TO GO FIND ANOTHER JOB, A**HOLE!" CW: "lemme tell you something....I'm gonna bust your..." JM: "#lordhavemercy" BC: "You guys need to calm the hell down! How is this gonna look to the folks at UNLV for me?!? Now shake hands and make up!" CW: "I ain't shaking his hand. In fact, I'm taking his office after the game. You'd better get your red streamline stapler, you joke." RK: "@#$@#!#$@#$" JM: "#handshakefistbump2Kaz" Late nominee for POTY.
  5. And at the same time wasn't it a breath of fresh air to see Cotton standing calmly on the sideline? I thought the team seemed much more composed and this is the big reason I didn't mind Cotton being the Interim coach. So true. Barney acted like an adult on the sidelines and the team seemed less brittle. Good on yer, Barney.
  6. FWIW Keith Peterson ‏@keithJpetersonIn short, everyone that's employed in the world of football loves the hire and those who aren't hate it. I trust the experts #riley #huskers
  7. Sweet Jesus, let it go. you have a bill callahan joke pic. in your sig... Oh my god, Spooky Tooth just got truth-nuked all the way back to Huskermax!!! Thank's for stopping by, Spooky! And I see you finally left Tigerboard. Your turn.
  8. Sweet Jesus, let it go. you have a bill callahan joke pic. in your sig... I'll wait for you to come up with the last post I made about Callahan.
  9. Osborne is just as guilty as Tressel at covering up for his guys and we're gonna built ducking statues of him soon. Nebraska will always preach a clean program, but they will overlook this and preach Tressels great leadership of young men. He will be knocked for a bit if eichorst can't renegotiate the show cause penalty, but I think Eichorst is making this deal because he already has a great strategy to take the NCAA. He will preach an impeccable compliance department that will be transparent and thorough after hiring Tressel. Really? Got specifics you can back up or are you just into slandering people using the anonymity of the interwebs?
  10. Oh dear God. So on the basis of speculative ruminations by unnamed persons on a social networking site, you're now castigating the players and their ethics on a board that is read by potential recruits and their parents.
  11. Agree with all the above but would keep Kaz. DL has not been an issue this season,
  12. Not a smooth way of asking this so I'll just ask: Monique, if Bussey decommits will that affect Stanley's commitment? And BTW, we can be a bit testy at times. Ignore those parts and know that your son will be coached by men who will add to what you and your husband have already accomplished.
  13. how exactly do you suppose that will work How many won't get this? I like it.
  14. Stars don't matter. Out of your eleven 4-stars in 2011, 5 never made it here/left shortly after arriving. So call it 6? 2014 - four 4 stars (I'll subtract Monte Harrison because I subtracted Bubba in 2011, so 3). Notable names not in that list: Demornay Pierson-El Chris Jones Josh Kalu (all above are 3 stars) Drew Brown (2 star) Byerson Cockrell (2 star) Stars are relative, and mostly irrelevant to the discussion. At a point where we are now, with plenty of production, let's judge the classes on output and see where they stand. Give it two more years to really shape up and let's look at 2011 vs 2014. I'm taking 2014; that was one SOLID class. Stars matter Texas and Michigan say howdy.
  15. Myself,I just wish Bo Pelini wasn't such a hater with a troll agenda when he says things like that. Competition?
  16. "Most of the time". See, this is what drives me nuts, this mindless inanity just to prove a point. Pelini is one of only two coaches to win at least nine games each season since 08. Check out this post from another thread by Coach Power T and then reexamine "most of the time": Statistically Nebraska's Offense and Defense points per game stats vs each game individually vs Opponents averages. Without digging too deep into the depths of statistics of team offense and defense. Nebraska Offense average ppg = 40 Opponents Defense average ppg given up. (I rounded up or down the decimal) vs FAU = 35 (we scored 55, +20) vs McNeese = 21 (we scored 31, +10) vs Fresno = 37 (we scored 55, +18) vs Miami = 22 (we scored 41, +19) vs Illinois = 37 (we scored 45, +8) vs Michigan St = 20 (we scored 22, +2) vs Northwestern = 24 (we scored 38, +14) vs Rutgers = 29 (we scored 42, +13) vs Purdue = 32 (we scored 35, +3) despite playing horrible on that side of the ball we were still able to score more than their average on defense. Total = +107 / 9 games = 12 ppg higher than defenses average giving up. Opponents Offense ppg vs our Defense (We give up 20 ppg.) vs FAU = 24 (they scored 7, -17) vs McNeese = 38 (they scored 24, -14) vs Fresno = 27 (they scored 19, -8) vs Miami = 33 (they scored 31, -2) vs Illinois = 27 (they scored 14, -13) vs Michigan St = 46 (they scored 27, -19) vs Northwestern = 19 (they scored 17, -2) vs Rutgers = 24 (they scored 24, +/-0) vs Purdue = 27 (they scored 14, -13) Total = -88 / 9 = 10 ppg lower that offense average scoring. We've consistently beat the averages. Granted I know each average changes each week. Interesting nonetheless if you are a stats guy, like me. Take it for what it's worth. Maybe nothing. Criticize Pelini all you want, but for God's sake keep the hyperbole out of it. No hyperbole at all. We won big against Northwestern, Rutgers, and Purdue. That doesn't mean it wasn't sloppy (the players and coaches seem to agree with me here). Maybe we shouldn't care or talk about it when we play like that against the sisters of the poor, but that undiciplined brand of football continues to prevent us from winning championships. Also, this is me seeing it both ways. I was the first to point out that winning big against this sort of team is preferable to scraping by with a 4th quarter comeback or even losing (which we made a habit of in 2011, 2012, 2013). Although I fully understand the concern from coaches, players, and fans alike. You dodged it. Your phrase "most of the time" was proven wrong by Coach Power T and my point that only Pelini and Saban have at least 9 wins since 08. Sloppy play striking most of the time is refuted. You can't justify your exaggeration by citing what most here agree with, that there are uncorrected problems. Again, criticize the staff all you want, and I will probably agree with more than you would guess. But you diminish your efforts with silly declarations like "most of the time". Demonstrably not true. I don't think you know what refuted means. I think we were pretty sloppy in 5 of our 9 games this year. That's most of the time. Winning 9 games has literally nothing to do with my statement. If I said we lost most of the time, then you'd be onto something. I didn't - you're not. Sloppy football can strike any team at any time. This is true. That's not the point, though. Under Pelini it "just so happens" to strike most of the time, year after year after year. People are starting to consider it more of a trend than some zany, unlucky fluke. There is your entire initial quote. I'm putting there to show the disconnect between your logic and reality. 8-1 season plus Coach Power T's work r-e-f-u-t-e-s "most of the time". And now I am done with this. Carry on.

  19. So getting a three and out on four straight possessions to open the game, a punt blocked and a TD on our first poss is not being prepared for a game? This is the part that just puzzles me. Most of us can see there are repeat problems that aren't being fixed. I know I don't minimize that. It's just that the usual suspects (and I don't include Accountability in this because he's usually pretty even-handed) have a genetic predisposition to come out every game and pee on any thread that isn't negative already. Where the hell does this come from? You want to piss and moan about the staff? Okay, most of us know how you feel, but for God's sake at least TRY not to be so friggin' psychotic about posts that aren't negative.
  20. As I go through some of these threads it occurs to me that Nebraska lost today, and some are glad. If NU goes 11 and 1 these Nostradami will bitch about losing the one game. Broken. Record. If we go 11-1, I'll be giddy. I'll be happy as hell. But as of right now, there's still a lot of issues. Issues that in fact show no sign whatsoever of being fixed and will not only prevent 11-1, but will probably result in 9-3. Until we come out ready to play against Wisconsin and play good competent football for at least most of the game (since apparently asking for a good solid 4 quarters once in a decade is too much) and at the very least win the game, this is the reality. Actually, you are pretty even handed, and I absolutely share most of your concerns. I'm talking about the ones who can reliably be counted on to piss on a win, each time, every time. They are as regular as Aunt Fanny's bowel movements, and their posts resemble them. I have eyes, and I can see that in too many regards we continue to make the same mistakes. I just don't want to be lumped in the the agenda Nostradami.
