  1. From what you reported, it does not sound like he will be extremely hard to recruit at all. One of the main factors in a kid commiting is the relationship they have with the coaches. he is very close to his brother he has a strong Christian faith( who better to recruit him then Coach Brown) he has seen game day atmosphere in Lincoln. You are right though, its way to early to count him N. You're correct on your 3 points but he's already said he doesn't have to play with his brother. I only reported 1 quote from an entire article (b/c you can't post premium articles on this message board). Thinking that you'd be shocked if he doesn't end up N (not you Huskers Forever) just says you are looking at this situation through rose colored glasses. Anytime Texas (his home school), OU (Adrian Peterson), and USC (Reggie Bush) come calling, we have an uphill battle. Family ties are very important and the faith based system installed at Nebraska gives us an edge but in the end kids want to win championships and play in the NFL. By all means he can do both of those at Nebraska but for a 16/17 year old, it probably seems easier at the aforementioned schools. All in all, I don't want to get in to a debate about this b/c it's WAY too early to do so. I personally would cut off a hand to watch this kid play ball at Nebraska, I just don't want to be disappointed by thinking he's going to when it's his junior year still.
  2. Like a couple people have said, LCD is probably the way to go. The new Samsung Plasma is considered the best TV on the market for sports but plasma TVs are a dying breed. If I were you, I would by the new 42" Samsung LCD. Samsung products are by far the best in my opinion. When doing research concentrate on the differences between the BLACKs on the TV. The darker/deeper blacks = the better contrast = better TV. Good luck.
  3. Appears we're looking at him on D, he worked as a DT and DE at camp. But his film shows him on offense, thus the ESPN critique of him as an O-lineman. We are definitely recruiting him on the D-Line. He's only played D-line for a short period and he's hoping that his coaches will play him there full time this fall. He says he is still very rough but is learning quickly. I like his upside.
  4. Yes he did. He came up to help his brother finally move in.... Green on coaches: "I know coach Brown because he was the one who recruited my brother," Green said. "He was just joking around and trying to tackle me. Coach Sanders, he and him were chasing me around trying to tackle me and stuff. They were just playing around. Usually that's not what you see in coaches, but that's just them being themselves and having fun. I like that." It sounds to me like he will be extremely hard to recruit. He likes the idea of playing with his brother but it's not a necessity. He might head to OU and USC to check them out this summer. I wouldn't count him as 'N' by all means.
  5. Green is going to the Texas camp on June 14. He told rivals that no one really stands out as a favorite right now...
  6. Nebraska has offered: Michael Dyer Lache Seastrunk Jordon James Giovanni Bernard Deontae Cooper Braylon Heard Anthony Brown James McConico I've heard the names Brown and McConico the most but they might not be who we are "going after the most." I bet we only take one RB in this class.
  7. I wonder why I just read this entire page.
  8. We absolutely take Robinson if he says yes. This guy could end up playing 6 different positions......QB/TE/WR/LB/DE/S
  9. He also says that he is "really good friends with Marquise Hill."
  10. I heard Chase was in Lincoln on Friday this week. Can anyone confirm this? I would love to steal this kid if he opens up his recruiting again. Total stud with a high motor. His father got him involved in MMA fighting and training. He also went to the Kansas camp on Saturday.
  11. Don't get me wrong, I'm starting to LOVE this recruiting class especially now that Gabbert says he's going to get on the phone to help but I want some defensive talent like now. Signing high quality D-Line players is tough. Probably the hardest part of recruiting and until we lock up some studs on the interior I won't be happy. Good thing is we have Jason Ankrah and Thad Randle both who should be studs. Late.
  12. The article (and video-on left side of page) even says Thomas is a Husker fan....pretty cool. I wish we could have got Stephens too.... http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/We...omas.html?yhp=1
  13. Say what? You have no idea what I look like. For all you know I could resemble one of Saruman's Uruk-hai. And just in case you're not hip with the LOTR reference...here's a pic of an Uruk-hai... Mmmm, aren't I sexy? and that ladies and gentlmen is pure rejection plain and simple. maybe one of these days ill get my shot at the uruk-hai..... Jen - I say give the kid a chance.
  14. his high school coach says Kansas leads for him and as soon as he sees the campus he'll talk about committing....
  15. I'm out of state and have been since 2001 but I don't mind these plates. They are much better than those ugly yellow/red/black ones a few years back...
  16. I just wasted about an hour and a half playing around on that link. Thanks for the post...now I get finish the work that I should have been doing. Nice recruiting tool.
  17. I for one would be happy as hell if Mizzou went to the Big 10. Crap school into a crap conference...perfect!
  18. BigWillie your way off on Blaine Dalton = extremely overrated. He committed early to MU as a junior. Blaine could have gone anywhere he wanted and was the number 1 QB target that MU wanted in 2009 recruiting class. The fact that he committed early and played baseball instead of attending various camps kept him a 3 star with rivals. Scout had him listed as a 4 star. All you had to do was watch his games and you could see he is very talented. Look for the so called drug charges to be dropped. The prescription pills that were in his glove compartment were those of a high school teammate who had shoulder surgery and went to Columbia to visit Blaine and forgot his prescription medicine in Blaine’s car. Blaine Dalton=waste of time. I watched a couple of his high school games while living in KC 2 years ago......waste of a scholarship.....sorry, back to Tyler (the better of the 2 Gabberts) who will soon be a Husker.
  19. The loudest I have ever heard Memorial Stadium was at this past years Colorado game (and I went to every home game in the 1990s and early 2000s). There was absolutely no "artificial crowd noise."
  20. Just another reason I can't wait to get Nebraska in Lawrence. It's KU's year kids. I don't think you have the horses to beat us in Lawrence this year. We have too much firepower on offense, and with the game being at home, our defense will force your inexperienced offense into a lot of mistakes. I think that's the difference. KU wins by double digits infront of the largest crowd in Jayhawk history. Here's to a great 2009 season. Go Jayhawks! "in front of the largest crowd in Jayhawk history." - - - KU's sold out many games before. Every other year Nebraska plays in Lawrence, 2004 vs. K-State (amazing game!) and 2005 vs. Mizzou. I was there....I went to KU. 34-28 Brasky-Pants Go Huskers!
  21. Check out the tidbit below from an article in the Daily Camera (a CO newspaper)..... I find it hysterical that Dan Hawkins can only think as big as Nebraska Football. Colorado fans just make me laugh. I've never, nor will I ever, read about a state of Nebraska golf course painting their range-ball picker colors of a rival sports team. Man those Coloradoin's are some good fans. Smart too! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Even NU has place at new CU golf course ERIE, Colo. — In an event where black and gold were the colors of the day, it was something painted red and white that signified "University of Colorado" more than anything. At Saturday's dedication festivities for Colorado National Golf Club -- the new home for CU's golf teams -- parked on the side of the putting green was a range-ball picking vehicle colored red and white, with a Nebraska football helmet on the roof and an "N" emblazoned on the front. Keep in mind that range-ball pickers are often the target of people hitting balls on the practice range, and what better target for a CU fan than a symbol of the NU football team, long a dreaded nemesis of the Buffs. And guess whose idea it was to decorate this bull's-eye of sorts with Husker symbols? None other than CU football coach Dan Hawkins, who attended Saturday's function. 22. Big Suh is also listed in Andrew Perloff's 2010 NFL Mock draft as the Number 6 overall selection. Perloff has McCoy going 3rd. The battle between these two interior bad-aces should be amazing this year. It's never too early for mock drafts, right? Link: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...ex.html?eref=T1
  23. This class is entirely about quality not quantity. Adding KT is huge...pulling him away from KU is huge..... I like this class so far and one more year of winning football is only going to make the years to come even better.
  24. Help! I need help.... I personally think Husker apparel has been lacking for a long time. Maybe it's just hard to create cool looking t-shirts/hats with such a strong red color but I want more. I constantly search for new Husker apparel but I consistently leave these stores/websites without making a purchase. I bought a black/tan/red plad (trucker style) hat this last fall that I love. Where can I find some cool throw back stuff? Am I the only one who thinks this way? Do you know of a store/website with neat items that I might have missed? Someone with a graphic arts degree start a company, will ya!!
