  1. Not sure if I'll be in the minority or majority here, but honestly I envy Ron Brown's conviction. Someone who stands true to who they are even in the face of all this backlash is an impressive person and a role model in my eyes. Having said that I think maybe he could've done a bit better in getting his message out there so there wouldn't have been all the media attention, but I would be greatly disappointed if he didn't coach here until he retired. From all the people I've talked to on the team they absolutely love him.
  2. Take it for what its worth but my understanding from what I've seen across several boards is that he isn't a scholarship player, sounds more like a walk on from what I can gather.
  3. Yeah that's true he has been pretty reliable this year. I suppose when I think of him I think of his huge blocks more than his actual ball catching skills
  4. Well if Westerkamp can catch the ball on a consistent basis then chances are he'll see the field next year because behind Bell our WRs have lots of potential if they could just catch the football more times than not.
  5. Whatever he ends up rated I sure want this guy. For as much as everyone talked up Edwards and talked about how Peat had a poor week of practice you sure couldn't tell from the game. Peat looked great all night especially in pass protection and I think he would have a legit chance at starting from day 1. He is just that talented and physically gifted IMO.
  6. I went to Lincoln Southwest and have heard several times that if the Huskers offer then hes a Husker. Hopefully they do as I've heard he's not only a great football player, but also a great kid. My only concern is that we've already offered and seem to have high interest from several other LB prospects namely Cox from Arizona and Ramirez (spelling) from Missouri. Hopefully Banderas and Minter both get offers soon so we can kick off our 2013 class!
  7. I thought somewhere along the line in this thread it was said that he was a pitcher currently, but he was being projected as an outfielder at the next level. Did that change or am I misremembering?
  8. Pretty sure it was against Texas Tech don't remember the specific year though
  9. I have a friend whose mom works at UNL and shes a freshman this year and i know that she gets half tuition paid every year, I don't know if the situation is the same for coaching personal or not...
  10. Yeah not to mention that we did better with penalties and hey the sellout streak is still alive!
  11. Can i pick all of the above and add that we can't seem to find any spark on offense... even though we've obviously tried absolutely everything... well except for trying that mobile backup quarterback... what was his name again?
  12. Are any of these kids actually D-1 recruits or are you just assuming these kids are winning in high school so heck why not try them out for Nebraska?
  13. On a bright note i know we'd all love the best possible results going foward for this year but at least we can know that so many of these guys will be back next year with experience under their belts so hopefully we can really have that breakout year next year to hold onto the recruits that we already have for next year...
  14. I think what i would hope we'd see differently is some of those QB draw plays that we ran today would actually go for more than 2 yards... supposedly lee and green have the same speed but i think from what i've seen at least green appears to be a better athlete and hopefully he could make more big plays for us than lee
  15. Or they probably came out holding hands because the defense understands that huskernation is less than happy with the offense right now so it was there way of coming out and showing they are one united unit... IMO at least
  16. I go to school with him and to the best of my knowledge no relation to Barney Cotton.
  17. you can say what you want about baker and his stars or stats but i played high school football with him and the best thing i can tell you about him is his work ethic and his personality he is going to bust his butt to be the very best he can for his team and i think he will have a huge impact in the future no matter which side of the ball he plays on
  18. Something else i think you have to consider is that if you choose to redshirt him then what happens the year after next? you go through next season with witt or lee as the starter then the next year say thanks time to back up the kid? i think if you redshirt him your kinda saying hes a backup till whoever starts next year moves on and since we wont have a senior qb next year that wouldnt be year after next, how long do you sit him on the bench?... just something to think about...
  19. Dont get me wrong i would love just as much for Witt or Lee to come out and just look great and ready to roll but all im saying is if they all come out of spring pretty even id rather put the ball in the hands of someone who can make plays with his feet too, havent seen to much of Witt or Lee having the running ability Green brings to the table
  20. you cant have great games every week seeing the kids size and speed i say mabe all hes missing is the right coaching and with bo and company i think he'll find that here at nebraska
  21. Correct me if im wrong but the players we currently have at quarterback have virtually nothing but practice reps and the most playing time theyve got upto now is basically the spring game i dont think its out of the question for CG to come in and have a solid chance of starting and having the huskers look ahead for the future because to be honest our strong sets next year will be our offensive line and running backs so we need a quarterback that can make throws when needed but mainly to manage the game, while i think all of them are probably capable of that i think watching CG highlights he might be able to not only do that but also bust the occasional run for 50+... i guess in the end if at the end of spring ball hes anywhere near the level of understanding of our offense the other qbs have then id give him the nod to go ahead and start... IMO GBR!
  22. idk about a landmark win but it sure does feel good knowing that we could finish at 9-4 and having KU really be the last game that was a tossup as to who wins its nice to have it out of the way knowing that we got the W as far as landmark, if its possible to get a true landmark win this season i think our best chance would come in a bowl game if we could win out and play a quality team.
  23. I completely agree firings would be totally unwarrented honestly the numbers are great, they just get somewhat over shadowed because we are in the big 12 but i think both coaches are doing great. Also like its been said multiple times i couldnt see Watson leaving unless its for a HC job, while there are several openings this year i dont see Watson moving although i am interested to see if Turner Gill stays at Buffalo or moves somewhere else like idk Ksu...
  24. According to the Lincoln Journal Star today a bowl representative said that if Nebraska were to win out they would be very attractive to the Gator Bowl so assuming we beat ksu and cu id throw that in as a possibility
