4-6 weeks is better than a season ending thing, but still hurts badly. They have some difficult games in those 4-6 weeks and he'll be missed.

Yeah, the burning "N" thing - not a big deal to me either. I'm not sure why some are up in arms about it. It's just a way to get more attention for a growing program, and that's great. (But, still, a bonfire in August in Florida? That's crazy!)

Super! I am thinking I'll sign up at the end of the season so that I'll have something to do when there are no games being played. I don't know if I'll have the will power to wait that long though. How is it that you can save the games to your computer?

Good analysis, but some of the stats should just be thrown out. I mentioned a couple of months ago that I had watched a rebroadcast of their Michigan State game, played in terrible weather. They actually had chances in that game to not only score, but win, had the breaks gone the other way. The score and stats for that game don't accurately depict their abilities. The other games I can't comment on, since I didn't see them, however I did read where Smith was injured in the first game against UT last year, and didn't tell anyone. It took him 4-5 games before he was healthy enough not to be affected. I have no doubts that the Huskers will be able to move the ball on them, however, but I am still concerned about that offense, given the secondary's struggles, and rFR linebackers.

One loss before we play them is still going to be very respectable, considering they and Alabama are ranked similarly in the top 10. No one should be dropping the loser of that game too far down in the polls. That said, Go Hokies!!!

But, I am anxious to see how all Big 12 teams do, though. Yes, I'll even be listening to ISU on Sirius radio on Thurs. Outside the Big 12, of course VT versus Alabama is the big one, as is Oregon @ Smurfturf. I don't care that much about Oregon or Boise, and hate that blue turf, but yet I will still watch because it's the first day of Division IA football season and I can't NOT watch!

However, watching his behavior during that "best ever" discussion was extremely childish. And, to whoever said it was warranted - No, it wasn't. I would have honestly thought the same thing about the antics if it was any other team, and in no way was it warranted. What does it say for Herbstreit when the actual COACHES on the show were even arguing with him about it? Some of these had coached against these Nebraska teams. I would think they know a little more about those teams than a guy with a desk job. Oh, and fan rule #1 is that ESPN hates your team, no matter who your team is. That's why I put that in the description - but should have used the sarcasm emoticon. My bad.

+1 and +1 and +1 I guess in this instant society nowadays and with Rivals/Scout pimping and pumping these kids up so much there is no time for development. They ALL must be complete studs once arriving upon campus. I don't mean to digress and this doesn't relate to Kerr, but it's funny how things shake out (attrition/adversity) during the span of a college career. Case in point Cory Ross. The guy is stacked way at the back at number 8, he develops, doesn't complain, keeps working and slowly but surely the list is widdled away. Numbers of I-backs transfer out in front of him on the depth chart and he keeps going. Cally recruits 5 + 4 RBs his senior year to unseat him and he keeps going strong. Our best o-lineman on this years 2009 team was a greyshirt. Not deemed good enough to get a full ride straight out of HS. I believe there are the same amount of unheralded players all throughout CFB that go on to have steady to great careers then the ones with all the stars a blazing by there names that transfer out never to be heard from again like the Becks and Leon Jacksons of CFB. The one thing the services don't incorporate into rankings is the players work ethic and once they hit campus and face adversity, what do they do?? actually, my comment wasn't directed towards the OP, it was because someone (no names) had said he possibly left the team, and then edited the comment later.
