  1. My favorite run is the one Burkhead made in the comeback against Wisconsin. It was after the momentum shifted back to NU and Rex stiff-armed a guy for what seemed like 15-20 yards. It was a tough run that matched Rex's personality to a "T". edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FOPKnLsA-c
  2. What in the hell??? Whatever floats your boat, have a good one....
  3. The governers of South Carolina and Nebraska have zero to do with this situation, since we are staying on task and all. In your post you specifically said what things can cause a person to hate like this? And discounted the flying of the confederate flag. I responded that the flag, may in some small way add to the hate in some people, black or white. The flag stands for many things for many people, but I have never heard a person say it stands for "equality and gumdrops". Don't worry, I'm done too.
  4. I don't know, maybe a young man who grows up seeing this flag flown with "pride" might just feel a little empowerment to start a delusional civil war. Maybe a group of people (blacks) may feel a little second class when they see the state fly a flag that represents a group of rebels that took up arms against the USA to have the "right" to own slaves as they wish. Maybe, just maybe, it does add to the hate and relevant to the conversation...
  5. Michael Jackson Garth Brooks Elton John Honorable mentions: Billy Joel, Steve Tyler, George Strait, Chris Ledoux, James Taylor, and The Temptations. My music tastes are all over the place. If it sounds good, I'll listen to it. I can't think of a song of any of these guys that I can't listen to without enjoying.
  6. Just having some fun here: So you weren't "passing" along information, you were "seeking" it... My guess is: with a position like this, you don't start reading resumes from Career Builder the week before Perlman retires. My hope is that they have a "pool" of qualified people that are going to go through a qualifying process. The position requires more than a 45 minute interview. It will require a body of work, network of associates, background and the consistencies of that background. These people will hopefully be selected because of their body of work that they are in the process of building; I hope Nebraska gives the selected individual a platform to continue his/her trend upward.
  7. Not trying to judge, just a friendly "heads up": A selfish attitude like this may possibly get you the same result as a person that has had "a lot more fun" in life....Assuming that is the way you live your live. Sometimes I think God's message would be much more receivable if he didn't put "people" in charge of its delivery
  8. I noticed it wasnt misspelled and left it. Literally was told, didnt think much of it. Then i was also given a name. For what its werth i dont have an isue with the guy. Just pasing info along.....maybe should have put in rumorville. You have "literally" passed along zero info... Maybe you could tell us what you heard here, rumorville, or anywhere!
  9. Honest question, Nebraska now has former "important" (important meaning they were involved in recruiting and gameplanning) coaches from Georgetown and Florida on the bench. Is this level of big time experience new to Nebraska basketball? Seems like it should pack some recruiting punch along with the facilities...
  10. https://www.teamrankings.com/ncf/trends/win_trends/ This site will let you pick whichever year you arbitrarily desire....(at least as far back as 2003) Knock yourself out
  11. I'm pretty sure my wife is asexual......
  12. That was like a one week military-esque team-building thing. It wasn't part of their regular training. I know right!? That's why I can't wait until Obama hits the road. Here we Americans have the most expensive, high-tech military in the world and we train our Combat Soldiers like the South Sudanese Coast Gaurd with no access to the ocean...
  13. I normally get a chill or electric feeling during the tunnel walk when I'm at the games. It's a given. However, something about that video today before the tunnel walk... maybe it was because I was taking my boys to their first "game", or maybe Mike Riley is more soothing than I thought, maybe it was because I witnessed many of those moments during my life, or maybe there was a high pollen count in Lincoln today.. I was moved
  14. So Freedom gained all this weight in the 3 months since the coaches were hired??? wow...just, wow...
  15. it's Bos legacy. everyone is sniping at everyone. some fans are sniping the players. some fans are sniping the other fans. some fans are sniping at Perlman and SE. and everyone thinks it's the other persons fault. And it all circles to you blaming "Bo's legacy"
  16. Everyone take a HUGE breath and back away from the edge!!!! Last week was spring break. It is very likely McMullen went home to see his family in Ohio. BTW, he has a former coach and good friend not even an hour away from Akron. Would kinda be rude not to meet up and say "hi". Secondly, McMullen is FARRRRR from the only college kid tweeting "#30 days"....I loved my time at UNK (still wish I could go back) but I was very excited for summer to get here after returning from spring break.
  17. No, it's an issue for the bible-thumping, pray-the-gay-and-disease away community too. No, it is an issue for the "gubment ain't gon tell me what a do" community. Which happens to include a lot of Bible thumping, "pray-the-gay-away" community.
  18. What's new? Haven't the players been "signing in" to lifts for several years? Don't get me wrong, it is very cool and cutting edge to closely follow gains and progression. Is there something new about what the staff is doing with the numbers? Just curious... Guess the answer to my question is: "Nothing new, we are just advertising how good we got it!" ...I like that answer

  20. Praise and excitement for the new staff does not have to be taken as a knock on their predecessors. It doesn't have to be. There are plenty of examples where that may be the case but we don't have to go making up more. ...and a knock on the current staff doesn't have to be taken as Bo discipleship. The thread is titled "Coaching Upgrade". That is a direct comparison to the last staff. I like the new staff, I also liked some of the things the old staff did. Hell, I even like a few things from the Callahan years. I think many people, including myself, just want to see real football before we say anyone is doing great things. For example, the S&C program. Everyone thinks it will make a night and day difference with the new staff. There are coaches on the staff that coached with Dobson and say nothing is "that much different". A lot of the improvements may just be guys with another year in the weight room. Guys also got bigger and stronger as their careers went on under all the other coaches too. This is nothing new and why many of us have a "show me" attitude.
  21. Can we make it a rule NOT to post in this thread unless there is an actual injury??? This thread near the top of the first page is bad for the heart
  22. Interesting... Looks like our new staff seems to value Staton more than Fyfe. or....Armstrong may get the most reps in his squad and Fyfe gets the most in his, giving the staff more looks at the top 2. I think it is too early to look into anything just yet. btw, is there a practice roster out? That would be interesting to see who is in which group. I would think you'd put your top two together. Not saying it'll end up that way but you'd want them pushing each other. Plus you're splitting reps with two instead of three. I agree with putting top 2 together but there is a 3rd with Stanton/TA; Tyson B. the walkon senior. I just left him out of my post because he isnt in the mix. That's my bad. That's why it would be good to see a full list of who is practicing with who. It would give us a good idea of how the splits were made. I don't necessarily disagree that Stanton may be #2, but I just think it is a guess at this point.
