  1. What's the worst that can happen in a situation like this anyways?
  2. I'm thinking throwback gear too! We can wear the old style of pads, helmets, and shoes! It will be so ep1c!!!! But that would be a cool idea, in all serious.
  3. Take as many walk ons as possible. Walk-ons breed competition, which breeds a better team.
  4. This. The Heisman Trophy is supposed to be given to the best college football player each year. Do you think any voters (or average fans for that matter) will want to see a Heisman winner that came from a defensive line? They would be like . From this day forth it is always going to be somebody at a skilled position. Quarterbacks get the first look, then running backs, and then receivers. Thanks to the ridiculous amount of media coverage and media biased, we will probably never see a Heisman winner at a non-skill position again.
  5. If Suh and Allen are as solid this year as they were last year, and Turner has a break out season, this 2009 Nebraska defensive line could be one of the best in the country without question. Every good defense starts up front.
  6. Agreed. I'd venture a guess that they will show advertising more than 90% of the time. If they were used for stats and video I'd be for them . . . but if they are just moving billboards than I am against them. I don't think most people would be excited about the addition of static advertising signs. I view the ribbon boards similarly. I really hope that it is used for statistics instead of advertisements. Other than Adidas, Pepsi, and Valentino's, what other companies support the stadium/Huskers? Those three same advertisements could get very repetitive. Maybe though could show player/team statistics all game?
  7. Athlon and Mark May are on my sh*t list.
  8. I think they should really amp up the noise during the tunnel walk and then we can compete with the sound system to see who is louder.
  9. I would agree. And going by what others are saying, I understand why people would choose Freeman over Ganz (Freeman has better arm strength, he's bigger, he's taller, and is probably more durable). The NFL seems to pick guys that have the body type, and then they hope to change their play in order to make them good quarterbacks. I think, however, they should choose guys on play making ability and then focus on the physical aspect. Yeah, you can't change height (yet ) but you can make a guy bigger or smaller and give him better arm strength.
  10. To be honest, it's not like they have a lot of reason to think highly of us. Yeah, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri did some good things in their bowl games, but other than that neither team really beat anybody they weren't supposed to. Besides, Nebraska (if ranked at all) will probably be in the 22-25 range.
  11. I hope Ganz turns into one of those quarterbacks that nobody knew about and is suddenly the hottest thing in the NFL.
  12. I could name quite a few but I won't be a pain in the @$$.
  13. From a straight middle of the road opinion, the practice reports generally say better things about Ganz then they do about Daniel. (at least in the few I have read, but that has only been a few) Hopefully the owner isn't that 'big' on big name guys, because there have been plenty of quarterbacks that aren't 'big' name and have done well for themselves (Matt Cassel is a prime example that comes to my mind).
  14. Mason Crosby could hit it from 60 and 58 at sea level(Miami, FL) Kinda like that 54 yarder he made against NU in 2006? Oh wait, that one was 6 yards short of the END ZONE!! BOOYAH! Alex Henery > Mason Crosby Does Henery have that scholarship yet?
  15. I counted the yards gained by forward motion of the ball after Castille fumbled it and added that to his total in order to be totally fair and unbiased...
  16. lmfao 41 POUNDS? My god, that is a lot of marijuana. A lot... Score another one for the Huskers, I guess. If we just legalized and taxed marijuana this wouldn't be a problem..
  17. This list is weird, but still awesome to see that Nebraska coaches have some of the best W-L pct.
  18. Coming from the guy whose mascot isn't even real!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Two things: First-Nebraska has arguably the best tight ends in the Big 12 right now what with McNeil, Young, and the plethora of other guys who were amazing in the spring game. Second-Helu rushed for 800+ yards, but Castille only did around 400-500. Other than that, fantastic analysis
  20. I'm kind of interested in knowing as well. LOL if you guys look at the three magnified photos of Joe, you can see in the two photos that he is actually throwing the ball that his tongue is sticking out of his mouth between his lips. He always does that..
  21. If this results in major changes in the game, then I will forever dislike Sam Keller (more than I already do) and extremely dislike the game and most likely not play it. I think that players should get something out of these games, but not to the point of where it becomes a problem and the entire game has to changed. If that is what has to happen this lawsuit to go through, then I am not OK with it.
  22. My post right above yours explains your first question. 8% of all money made goes to the specific university, and it is there payday in that sense. None of it is seen by the players. And as to your second point, which I kind of said in my post above yours as well, if a player is going to be used in a game they should see some of that money. Look at any video game that has real people in it (like those terrible 50 cent games, Lord of the Rings games, etc.) those guys make money off of being in those games. Just because they are in college, that doesn't mean they shouldn't receive money for being in a video game imho.
