  1. I just want to know why it has suddenly become so difficult for Nebraska to have snow plows up front?
  2. Make the line practice in pink dresses during the week until they play better.
  3. ....and to use the same argument, we can't perfect it if we don't practice it in our OOC schedule.
  4. Lol. It doesn't work as well on game consoles though.
  5. Right meow.I don't think that they have anyone to replace him.
  6. You are clearly mistaken. I forgot. Me bad. Only players on southern schools are genetically predisposed to be fast runners.
  7. With as many rough patches as we've had in recent years, I haven't felt this good about a bowl game and an opener in a long time. No complaints here.
  8. No chief, the AP and Coaches Poll are in virtual lockstep with each other and always have been. No idea where you're finding evidence of your claim. If you're still sore about 1997, be thankful Nebraska got its own share of the National Championship. The Coaches that year had also ranked Michigan above Nebraska after our near disaster against Missouri, and it's pretty rare for a team to go undefeated, win their bowl game and drop a position. I think the Huskers earned it that year, but much of the country thought the Coaches were being sentimental (biased) in bucking tradition and awarding the spot to Tom Osborne, who some believe made his pre-game retirement announcement for that very reason. I realize that they're virtually in lockstep with each other. My contention is that the AP poll is just as bad (or worse) with its homer sportswriters. I am well-aware that coaches have been known to try to swing the polls with their votes. The writers do it too and are every bit as guilty, if not more guilty. I also find it amusing that people incessantly bag on the coaches poll yet turn around and use it as justification for one of our national titles. That hypocracy is what I want to highlight. They want to pick and choose which poll as the argument suits them.
  9. Well, if the AP is so friggin accurate and wonderful, then I guess Michigan really was the true national champ in 97. Those writers are so biased in their voting that it'll make you puke if you look at their cards. I'll take a coach vote any day over some yahoo that is always putting a school 20 places below where they should be just because they're not fond of a particular program or because it will make their favored program look better.
  10. I'll start worrying about it if we win the Big Ten championship game. Until then, I'm not going to get stressed over it. There's too much that can happen between then and now. Savor every game, because football seems to be over before it barely begins.
  11. Hats off to the reserves in closing out the game! Good job guys!
  12. This game sorta takes you back, doesn't it?
  13. I agree with every single point. I'll just add that it is the first game, and we are only going to get better. The D will firm up over the next few games.
  14. Good job Bo. Actually, there's plenty of evidence in recent studies if a person bothers to look. http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2014/02/25/282631913/marijuana-may-hurt-the-developing-teen-brain
  15. I always thought of him as our 44 magnum end. That just seemed to be a perfect number for the caliber of player.
  16. Okay wise guy, do you think that alcohol belongs at any of the sporting events that I listed (besides Memorial stadium)? If not, what is your rationale for prohibiting them? Now...... after answering that, go ahead and make a lucid, logical argument for where that line gets drawn. Your turn.
  17. Why stop there? Let's have it at high school and junior high games too. Grade school soccer? No problem! Have a cold one! Would Nebraska fans handle their alcohol well in the stadium? I'm guessing that they would, but I'd personally prefer that it stay dry. This is coming from a guy that has 5 gallons of bourbon barrel porter and 5 of hard cider sitting in primary fermentation right now, so I'm not exactly an anti. Everything has its place.
  18. How many QB's had Gill coached before he was hired as QB coach here? I believe that Turner Gill, one of the best (if not THE best) quarterbacks to ever grace a Nebraska uniform, was eminently qualified to instruct young quarterbacks in the Nebraska style of play. Gill was on staff permanently as the QB coach. Ganz is not. IMHO, we have a lot of young talent that would benefit greatly from having a dedicated QB coach. We have always seemed to see the need for a RB coach. After all, isn't the development of the QB stable just as if not more important as that of the RB's? I think Tommy is going to bring in the balance of leadership and talent that the offense has been lacking for a long time at the QB position. This Husker team needs field generals that hold their teammates accountable on both sides of the ball. He may just fill that ticket for us on the offensive side.
  19. That was an awesome video. Props to Coach Izzo for making it. As tough of a character as he is, I really think that he has a soft spot for Smiles (but don't we all?).
  20. Evidently publicly bringing his mistress to the games wasn't embarrassing enough for the NBA to fine and remove him, but an illegally-made recording of a private conversation was. I think that says something about our societal views. One can publicly flaunt their mistress and taunt the sanctity of marriage, and yet that's okay in the eyes of the NBA.......no grounds for dismissal there.....just don't say anything to anyone in private that may flag you as a racist. It makes perfect sense!
  21. The last thing that I'm going to do is give this guy a character reference, HOWEVER........doesn't it bother anyone else that a recording of a private conversation without an individual's consent (and illegal in CA) is being used as evidence to financially punish and harm the party on the recording? If allowed to stand, it essentially states that privacy ceases to exist. This man wasn't breaking any laws and is allowed his own personal opinions, however socially unacceptable and reprehensible they may be. In my view, the person who made the illegal recording has put themselves in a position for a lawsuit for being responsible for lost revenue and a host of other damages. I wouldn't want to be her. Had she obtained permission to record, it would be an entirely different matter. If they are successful, I think that this puts the NBA on a slippery slope. Where does one draw the line? Imagine if your spouse, son or daughter secretly and illegally recorded something that you had the right to say in private and then played it for your employer who summarily dismissed you for having an unpopular view. I'd guess that many might have a different opinion on this matter.
