  1. If you guys thought you disliked Bo, you'd hate Chip. Just got done watching him destroy my beloved Eagles franchise. He's an arrogant POS that no one in the locker room liked. Someone hypothesized on my Eagles board that he may have some type of low-grade Asperger's or something along those lines that makes it hard for him to socialize normally. Everything with him was a power struggle too. He's a good coach, but he has major flaws and I wouldn't want him A-N-Y-WHERE near the Huskers. EDIT: http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2016/1/3/10704508/chip-kelly-jordan-matthews-bench-cris-carter-espn-nfl-eagles-watch-video What. A. Douche.
  2. I believe we could still get an in home after the Iowa trip to swing him. I have nothing to back this up.
  3. It's all good man. Chip's quote when he was introduced in Philly still gets me though. Chip, why do you prefer bigger, stronger guys over smaller, quicker ones? "Big people beat little people up." Unfortunate that he pretty much burned my NFL team to the ground. Will be interesting to see where he winds up. As for Mr. Sails, we need all hands on deck in the secondary at the moment.
  4. I'd say were immediately his top offer. Perhaps second to Wiscy, but their DC just defected to LSU.
  5. Ahh, OK. Thanks for the update, swmo. I didn't know if we ever confirmed that to be the case.
  6. I don't think we ever came to any conclusion about the "silent commit" from earlier in the year, right? Is it outside the realm of possibility it is Isaiah? He's been pretty quiet but definitely thinks we're working the hardest recruiting him. We've chalked it up as his demeanor and different approach to the whole process, but it'd make a lot of sense if it was also due in part to him already being committed.
  7. Somebody bumped the 2015 profile of QB Lamar Jackson that wound up at Louisville. I saw the Louisville commit tag, and about dropped a brick in my pants. Not. Cool.
  8. I remember another less heralded, quietly recruited kid from his neck of the woods that turned out OK. Matter of fact, he's leaving early for the NFL.
  9. Give me John anyday over Noah. I don't want to lose players from within our own borders, and we're DE needy, but we did just get Neal last year who could develop into something special and championships are always built in the trenches.
  10. Hells yeah! Let's beef up that secondary! Would love for Lamar to become a Husker.
  11. Hoping the win helps sway Lamar more towards us and away from UCLA. Maybe we'll see some reaction from him here soon.
  12. Trevor Robinson was a big miss back in the day. Bo's first class, left for Notre Dame when Cally was fired.
  13. Where are you getting your info? Because I've heard 1. Farinok we are the favorite, and I think it's growing. 2. Iowa is making a big run at Jackson, but they only have 1 spot left and they've been saving it for an OT....#1 might be your hint there.. 3. Newman has been extremely quite but Cav made an impression and I think we've got as good of shot as anyoneAnd all this coming from me who is/has been extremely pessimistic the last week. Maybe I've been more pessimistic then Basing my assumptions off of 247 mostly. My point stands, we need 3 OTs in a month. I think we have some redshirts that help at this position, as a I am more concerned about the D line, After this year, we have :Cole Conrad (Walk-on RSo.) Ryan Freudenburg (Walk-on RSo.) Nick Gates (So.) Christian Gaylord (RFr.) Dwayne Johnson (Jr. - I thought this guy left the program? Didn't make the 105 this fall) David Knevel (Jr.) FOUR SCHOLARSHIP OFFENSIVE TACKLES, INCLUDING ONE WHO DIDN'T MAKE OUR 105 THIS PAST YEAR - CALL IT 3. We won't even be able to yell at Cav for not rotating because there's no one to rotate. We are for sure thin. To further your point I think Johnson got moved to OG, but like you said he didn't even make the 105. You missed a couple guys, not that it changes the idea. Sam Hahn plays OT and traveled when Gates was banged up. Whitaker played interior all of his career but when Gates got banged up and went out for a couple plays he came in at RT. Sam Hahn will get some playing time next year and maybe even be the other starting OT. He is a Big Strong NE Farm Boy! ^ Don't need that to happen. That's the problem with our OL. I'm sick of "strong NE farm boys" whiffing and being completely outmatched by true linemen around the country. Please tell me genetically what has changed with those "farm boys" from before. The difference is simply that you've had Barney Cotton and one year of Cav coaching em up instead of Milt. Lord knows I was no Barney apologist. Time will tell with Cav.
  14. I personally have struggled with understanding this myself. I really don't think a lacking S&C department has been the team's greatest downfall over the last 10-15 years. A lot of people locally and around the country had worked with the previous staff's S&C guy - Dobson - and had really good things to say about him. I think some of the bigger factors at play have been in the recruiting and coaching realms. I have a lot of thoughts on these, but to summarize the first part, I think recent coaches have either missed out on bringing in recruits that could've made an impact or the recruits they did bring in never reached the potential fans and even coaches had for them. I don't like to call out individual players, but Andrew Rodriguez is a guy I look at here. A highly touted four star from Nebraska that appears, at best, to have made Honorable Mention All Big Ten team. And in terms of players the university has missed out on, Andrus Peat is a big name who is now in the NFL. From a coaching perspective, I don't know if our technique/fundamentals ever really reached a consistent level either. I also don't think Nebraska has had a solid identity in years. It seemed like a lot of guys just weren't developing on the line or making the improvement you'd like to see. In my opinion, when your best offensive lineman in recent history is a former walk-on and nobody else even really holds his jock strap, that's a failure from the top down. The line needs to be better. That's not meant to disrespect Spencer Long, either. But, the Huskers really aren't in a position to rely on hoping against hope that their walk-ons will turn into potential All-Americans. I agree with much of what you say. I just wanted to reply in regard to the S&C is that it wasn't know-how that caused S&C to slip under Dobson imo, it was accountability. That starts with the HC. If the HC doesn't discipline or kick guys off the team that aren't busting their butt in S&C workouts then it takes the authority away from the S&C coach. Guys know they can coast without repercussions. I believe that's why you saw a guy like Jake Cotton go from an agile, athletic OL early in his career to the less agile athlete he became by his senior year. And why Kenny Bell put on 15 lbs of muscle in 2 months before the combine, instead of doing it in his 5 years here. I wish people would stop posting pictures of fat O linemen and using that as a claim that they were out of shape and weak. O linemen are fat. Google "Alabama Offensive line" or "Wisconsin Offensive Line" or what ever line you think is awesome and you will find pictures of O linemen with a belly. I would post the pictures but I'm mobile and don't have the time. The difference between Bama and Wisconsin's OL and ours is/was strength. Our guys are/were just weak, plain and simple. I think this will change with Philipp and crew as they went back to more of a strength building routine. They are putting more focus on Olympic lifts for the players to build great strengthand explosiveness. A lot of that can be attributed to Tim Rabas, who at one time was a competitive lifter. That's fine. But, some people post pictures of them with bellies and claim...see...they are just fat. O linemen are fat.Yep, I agree. Linemen are fat and that will never change. The difference is what they have under that fat that matters. Well, we know what he wasn't hiding under there. Balance.
  15. This will be a tough pull, but Lamar is definitely interested. In spite of what you hear about how little head to head results matter to recruits, you'd have to think manufacturing a win against UCLA would be a big deal here. It gives the team an upward trajectory to finish the season, as opposed to a lame duck finish, and another loss could really take the shine off UCLA.
  16. Part of that may well have been a bit of a gentleman's agreement once we left the Big 12 to not mess with Stoops's recruits. Gotta look out for the ole Youngstown boys, after all. Outside of that, I don't know how viable Oklahoma could be for us anyway. We'd be at least third fiddle behind OU and OSU, and you've got to figure a lot of those kids would rather go play for UT or some other Texas school than NU. We were quite fortunate to land Barnett last year.
  17. Merry Christmas, mother******s. May merriment and joy fill your holidays, or something like that.

  18. Yeah, ok Donald. Let's see the headlines. This guy pulls more stuff out of his ass than the cast of Jackass after they shoot a new movie. Yeah, Trump just makes it up as he goes, no accountability. Nevr admits to any wrong doing. Hillary could crucify him in a debate, but neither he nor his followers would know it or care. The good news is, Hillary has the broader base as she hasn't alienated everybody except middle age, blue collar, white men. Trumps spokeswoman is bizarro too. Katrina Pierson, a real pc o' work. HA! She's on CNN right now about Donald's demand for an apology. She actually said, and I quote, "When you say something bad about Muslims, that's when they go on and become radicalized jihadists." As a champion for the first amendment and freedom of religion, what these people are spewing is so offensive I can hardly believe he's the leading candidate. Trump proposes banning all Muslims and his support goes up? Good lord. I'm ashamed of that segment of America. I see the logic, but it's totally flawed, and I refuse to adopt it. Hammer, just curious where your dislike for Hillary stems from? I know lots of people feel the very same way, and whether it's that she seems deceitful, unrelatable, or you're just not pleased with her political resume or results? She's certainly been described as such in the media. I do agree with Corn in that both Bernie and Trump blowing hard right smoke have pushed her farther left. Overall I just feel lucky that we've got two very solid candidates this go around, as opposed to the Repubs who are busy thinning the herd and sniping at each other.
  19. Y'all foos be trippin'. This new fella is the BOMB! He's about to raise the roof, so y'all need to chiggity check yourself before you wreck yourself. Word? Yaaaaahhhhoooo whaimesayin?
  20. Ted Cruz is one ugly mofo, that's for sure. Agree that Donald is the only serious threat to the Dems, but I sill think they'd skewer him in a debate and make him look like a fool. Well, moreso. http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/21/politics/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-apology-isis-video/index.html Yeah, ok Donald. Let's see the headlines. This guy pulls more stuff out of his ass than the cast of Jackass after they shoot a new movie.
