  1. Really a breath of fresh air to go from having zero guys on staff who have any idea how to maximize QB play to two who are master developers.
  2. Agree 100% about comparing the two. Got the last edition ;'( (NCAA 14) for Xmas. In the fourth year of a franchise with Texas State. Moved em to B10 throwing regionalist common sense out the window, but currently undefeated and #2 in the natIon, thank you very much. For me, building a program and 'crootin has always been a lot more appealing than scouting guys to select with my late first round pick all year. Just finished F.E.A.R. on the PC. Pretty unique FPS with some creepy moments and great atmosphere. Also been hitting the TF2 pretty hard lately (I'm new to it, somehow). Anybody ever use g2a.com to purchase Steam codes?
  3. Illegitimate son? Could be. Here's a photo taken shortly before the late great Al's passing. I can see som resemblance there.
  4. Really, no other Steam users here? How am I gonna put together a decent TF2 squad? :'(
  5. Hmm... I'm scared you guys. This seems like a familiar story. Lux is not Flu. Serious. How do I know? Cuz I know Lux. Seriously. Who was the poster in the recruiting forum that thought the coaches were crazy for not going after some player they knew? He contacted the coaches and didn't get the response he thought he should. Anybody remember which poster that was? That was the Nebraska Assassin. It was a sock puppet account for FLU.
  6. When did doc have a star player? Aleks Maric.
  7. I would seriously recommend asking about getting him enrolled in Iowa Western Community College for a year. They have a fantastic program there as JUCOs go and it's literally right across the river from NU. He could go there for a year to get his academics in order, more playing experience, etc. and be well prepared for D1 ball in the future. Great I'll let him know your suggestion. Also Hedley I'm pretty sure it's his mismatched Swedish to American credit hours. Not sure what his communication situation is with the new staff, but I'd recommend him at least asking about the possibility of going JUCO first to work out the academic stuff and then coming to NU after that. Iowa Western would be a great choice because even though they just started their program a few years back, they've won a JUCO national championship already and they've sent several players on to D1 including a WR we played against for Illinois this year and Kansas State's starting QB. Also, a bit of a typo before. It is right across the river from Nebraska itself. It's in Council Bluffs, which is right next to Omaha. Lincoln in another hour from here. It's still the closest JUCO available though.

  9. It's impossible to ignore the fact that he was constantly looking at other schools. Even Sean Callahan said as much on Twitter, and he seems to be a fairly informed guy. Did he like Nebraska? Obviously, he committed here, but he was still under the radar when he did. With the added attention as time went on, he started to like some other schools too. I think the chance was good this was going to happen whether Bo stayed or not..... Personally, doesn't really bother me. I could see how it would bother others. I think of it as natural attrition of guys who don't really want to be at NU. If he wants to go somewhere else (with four other possible RB commits... lol), let him go. I'd always rather get rid of wishy washy guys who aren't sure they want to proudly don the Scarlet and Cream. When the going gets tough for those types, they usually transfer out. See Tyler Moore, Aaron Green, Braylon Heard... etc. Glad they all found a good home though. I'd imagine if we had a HC that had some job security instead of being on the hot seat every year, Bussey would've stayed. A part of him looking around was the natural volatility of our team at the moment. Glad we fixed that.
  10. This guy can bite the top off a beer can? I'm sold. Good point on the certifications as well. There's a ton of certified personal trainers running around in the world that have no idea what they're doing and just throw a bunch of crap at someone to make them think they have all the answers. Dobson's results spoke for themselves. WAY too many guys got hurt, our conditioning was poor, and our OL looked like the line for the dessert table at Golden Corral. He sucked.
  11. That's the thing, this guy is nowhere near a reach and is a VERY solid looking RB who fits a pro style offense very well I don't see anyone claiming he is a reach. By no means did I mean that. I was alluding to BakerMark saying "I thought we didn't need Bussey so just "pass" and fill other needs?" Others were suggesting when we lost Bussey that we've got enough depth at RB to pass this year and go after other needed positions. But if you have a great player fall in your lap and they're interested... changes the narrative a bit.
  12. Just watched the film. Hardly any footage of him as a SR at LB... almost exclusively at RB. However, from what I saw, I wouldn't mind an offer. Showed good lateral quickness at LB. Doesn't have the top-end speed to play RB at the next level, but very few LBs do. He's got adequate speed to be a good LB and honestly the lateral agility is more important. Guys like Roach, Bando, and... *gulp* Sean Fisher show what a LB looks like when they're too stiff and doesn't move well enough side to side. Roach and Fisher just weren't athletic enough. The thing about Bando is by all reports he has all the physical tools needed to succeed. Something about Bo's system (mentally) had him a step slow ALL the time. Hope Bray can coach that out of him. But I digress. Garbutt moves well side to side. He has excellent instincts. He has a strong knack for weaving right around blocks, picking through the garbage to get to the ball. And when he got there, he finished very well. Either dropped the ballcarrier or held them up til the rest of the D caught up. Liked seeing him run down the QB from the backside on a zone read keeper on the goal line (senior film). Ultimately, poor offer list, but there's a LOT of talent in Texas. Strikes me as one of those developmental guys Riley is so known for. Would like to see what Bray could do with him. We def need the bodies at LB right now.
  13. I just hope we beat out Texas State. In year four of my Dynasty in NCAA 14 I just moved them into our division in the Big 10 and they're a four star school. #beatoutthedivision
  14. The tin foil hat guys on here saying we were just a placeholder for another team make me laugh. We had a HC change. The entire O staff is going to be gutted. He picked another school he was more familiar with and apparently liked growing up. Get over it. I used to take this stuff so seriously years ago... no I just can't get myself to give a flying #*$@ where an 18 YO kid wants to go to school. The Twitter hate boggles my mind.
  15. Well, guess we'll see how he does with much better talent. At least he's not short on experience. He did have one very good year in 2012. Top 30 defensive unit. Very impressive playing SC, Stanford, UCLA, etc.

  17. Mods, would it be possible to pin a Steam gamertag thread in the Video Game subforum for those of us who may be keyboard inclined?

  18. http://www.cnn.com/video/standard.html?/video/us/2014/12/18/pkg-girl-dies-from-allergic-reaction-on-family-hawaii-trip.ktxl Video there says we killed an ISIS Chief's second in command with a bombing strike. Also mentioned we sent 1300 troops over yesterday with plans for up to 3000 by February. They did mention that they're non combat troops which I assume men's they'll be training Iraq's military. Let's hope it stays that way.
  19. It's gonna be a s***show if Cruz wins the GOP nod. The media will have a field day with that guy. He's a moron. Agreed, though, it'd be very entertaining.
  20. DL is one of the strongest position groups, and one where true growth of the players have occurred. Add in the fact that Kaz is solid recruiting, I would say Riley should take a long look at Kaz before moving on. Considering Kaz was with Bo at the meeting, I think we know where his loyalty lies. Yeah, I thought of that, but Kaz is his own man whose body of work at Nebraska deserves its own evaluation. We are obviously not close enough to the situation to know if Kaz off the field would be a good fit for the program going forward, but he has my vote, in terms, of his recruiting ability, player development, and player performance. I like Kaz too and wouldn't mind him staying. However I think a lot of people could look good coaching: 2 future top 10 picks (RG and Collins), another future NFL DT (VV) and probably a guy that finds a himself a spot in the NFL (McMullen). Just sayin. Again, with three of those four guys, it goes back to a chicken and egg argument. Did they succeed because they were that naturally talented, or did Kaz coach it out of them?
  21. I am starting to get the feeling along with several others Neal just likes the recruiting process and the attention that comes with it. Nothing wrong with that, and feeling wanted by major programs. Still, we got the last visit. All I care about. #close
