  1. This man teaches these kids true life lessons. Spoken truly like a man who's gone home with an Olga or two at closing time.
  2. Trying to access his page there now, but the problem seems to be on their end. Will update when they fix it. Edit: Fixed all links.
  3. Ok, just wanted to create a central discussion topic for who y'all want or think we should pursue as our 2015 QB. I know there has been some concern about who we'll be taking that year as a QB. It's always an important position to recruit. Anyway, we seem to have offers out to two QB's so far who we could be in contention for. Kevin Dillman is a recent transfer to Denton, TX after playing before at La Mirada in CA. Interesting backstory to the kid. He was actually a citizen of Sweden who only recently acquired his citizenship and came across the sea to play ball here in the U.S. Nonetheless, he's a 5 star prospect dual threat QB with great size and we are currently co-favorite with Michigan, who has not offered him yet. Profile found here: http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/63706-qb-kevin-dillman/page__pid__1322248&do=findComment&comment=1322248 We've also offered a dual threat from Florida named Lamar Jackson. He's got a handful of offers, his best being us and Clemson. I would worry about Clemson, as they're much closer to home and have been on fire the last few seasons. I bet he could easily see himself being the next Tahj Boyd, but we shall see. http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/69040-qb-lamar-jackson/ We've also thrown an offer to JW Ketchum, a dual-threat from TX, but he has offers from the major TX schools as well as LSU, and if I had to guess I'd say he probably stays down south somewhere. http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/68951-qb-jw-ketchum-iii/ No offer, but we've visited QB Alex Delton from Hays, KS multiple times already and he visited unofficially for the MSU game last year. There seems to be definitely interest there and kid runs an offense that is similar to ours. Not quite as much zone read, but runs a lot of option out of the veer. He's really talented with his legs. Got a lot of wiggle and his top gear seems to be improving. Very nice touch on the deep ball as well. http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/69103-qb-alex-delton/ Lastly, Fowler seems to be on to something about Joe Burrow. Kid is legacy and his dad coaches with Frank at Ohio. Has visited for spring practice last year and is garnering lots of interest. You can find Folwer's thread here: http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/69102-joe-burrow/ Who, out of those listed, do you want the most as our QB for next year? We will have to be quite choosy, as taking two this year will give us four at the start of spring practice. Now, Darlington's health is an unknown, and who knows if Bush sticks at QB. But, you'd have to think in a small 2015 class, that Beck and the coaches are going to want to find one guy-- their guy-- and call it good. Admittedly, I've only watched Delton's film. But he's a stud and would be at the top of my list. Size is a concern, but he seems to be a tough kid, and really has good top end speed that could open up the zone read game. Dillman would probably be co-leader with him, as he's supposed to have a terrific arm. One kid who played against him described him as a "scarmbling Peyton Manning." Those are my two leaders at the moment, although I'll probably take a look at Burrow's film.
  4. Unofficial visitor for the MSU game last year. Watched his film. Seems to be a really decent quarterback and I think he's got a TON of potential in our system. His HS offense was pretty similar to ours, though they ran a lot of option out of the veer. But it's a plus he's already got option experience, and they did have quite a bit of zone read in there too. He's got really good wiggle on the option. At first I didn't think he was a real burner running it, but his junior highlights show him breaking away more than he did in the sophomore film, and apparently he ran a 4.43 at KSU's camp where they ended up offering. So he's working on that extra gear. As for the arm... really impressive for a HS kid. Obviously not a Peyton Manning or Luck type that can just set in the pocket a scorch lasers all over the field, but film shows pretty damn good accuracy on the longer throws. One thing that really impressed me was his ability to throw on the run. Against the grain, rolling out to his right... kid had excellent touch on the ball when rolling out or scrambling. Doesn't have that deer in the headlights look under pressure... very decisive when things break down. Coaches reportedly have him at the top of our QB board for next year, and with good reason. Kid's a baller and would fit what Beck wants in a QB to a tee. Barney, Beck, and Garrison have all visited the kid multiple times already and he says he has a good relationship with all three of them, so we've got a good head start on this kid. There definitely seems to be some interest.
  5. Player: Alex Delton Hometown: Hays, KS School: Hays Position: Dual-threat Quarterback Height: 6'0" Weight: 193 40 time: 4.55 Offers: Kansas State Visits: 11/16/13 vs. Michigan State Twitter Rivals: #13 DTQB; 247: #24 DTQB; Scout: ESPN: Hudl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C4SWaix428
  6. Do those kids ever end up being any good? It seems like the flip floppers never end up shaking out. That's a generalization, and I don't have many specific examples, but Tyler Gabbert, Walker, and Kevin Young (DE years ago from KS) who all committed multiple times never ended up amounting to much.
  7. It would feel awful to go to a school with a coach who openly calls his team "a pile of crap" during a major media event... Nothing like stirring up excitement for the upcoming season.
  8. Agreed on Pierson-El. Even I sometimes forget he's a part of this class. I feel he's strongly underappreciated and even almost taken for granted. Amidst the news Stewart may not make it, I think a lot of us forgot we already have Pierson-El committed and he's likely even more versatile and able to create mismatches. Very glad to have such a fluid athlete for the skill positions.
  9. FYI Buster, we're in early on a kid from KS for the 2015 cycle, Alex Delton. He's a dual threat QB out of KS that only lists a KSU offer at this point, but already visited us last year for that DREADFUL MSU game. Still great to get him on campus and some gameday exposure that early though. There must some good level of interest there though if he came up on his own dime as a junior. Doesn't have that deer in the headlights look under pressure... very decisive when things break down. Coaches have him at the top of our QB board for next year, and with good reason. Kid's a baller and would fit what Beck wants in a QB to a tee. Now, if we could just dedicate a staff position to having someone be on "Beck-head-in-rear-end" watch at all times, this offense could really take off... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C4SWaix428
  10. ^^^^ Agree with the above Mr. A. I always question how many of those big time offers for our kids are commitable with the shady crap pulled at Alabama, FSU, and the like. I very much doubt we could go head to head with Alabama on a kid they really wanted and win... but then again, they rarely recruit outside the Southeast, so they'd likely have a regional leg up anyway in that situation. For now, it's just good to know we're getting commits that garnered an offer from those schools at one point or another. Agree that people often overreact near signing day to our recruiting abilities or effort. I don't think this is Bo's best class on paper. It's a good class, but nonetheless not his best IMO. Most recent =/= best , as much as some of you think it does. It's an unfair comparison anyway IMO as you've gotten a chance to see how his past classes have shook out on the field. We haven't seen that with these guys and all we have to go on is educated guesswork. IMO, either last year's or the 2011 class have been the best on paper coming in. Last year's class seems loaded with lots of guys who seem ready to contribute sooner rather than later, and perhaps a few superstars mixed in (looking at you, Randy). Hell, Stanton was our 3rd lowest rated recruit (Rivals), and we took a two star snapper!! 2011 was awesome on paper, but some have flamed out quite nicely (Aaron Green, Moore, Klatchko)
  11. I'd think we were going to make a hard push for Frison regardless to round out the OL class this year. We were recruiting Boston as a DB, and we currently have none of those left on our board. If we still have an in home with this kid left (can you still use those this close to signing day...???), I wouldn't count us out just yet. That's absolutely Bo's forte in recruiting, and he's had many a coup after sitting down on a coach with the family. Beyond that, with the losses of Lockhart and likely Stewart, I'd expect them to check in with Desean Blair if they like him enough to make him a part of this class. Outside of those two guys... I have no idea. It'd have to be a total surprise at the last minute.
  12. Looks like True had a good Super Bowl party...
  13. One would think this opens the door to make a strong push for Blair going down to the wire, assuming that ship hasn't sailed...
  14. Lol. Sorry guyz. Just thought you'd appreciate your Tuff Tiger post of the day above. Apparently it went right over everyone's heads. My bad.
  15. This LA pipeline is going to be VERY fruitful going forward for our Skers. Welcome to the family Kendall! Rock the Scarlet and Cream!!

  17. Guyz, I think this discussion is stoopid. We need one do it all back to carry teh load. We need junyer year Marlon Luckyz. That iz all.
  18. Another example of Severe being a douche and leaving us all hanging... lol I actually like Mike'l a little bit though. Dude's enthusiastic. Really looking forward to getting Walton on campus and excited we have a bit of a pipeline opening up to LA. Mike'l has connection but nearly as many as he thinks he has. He is probably trying to get excitement for his new awful radio show that starts in march. That's why he left Unsportsmanlike Conduct? Ughhh. Is it a local broadcast or somewhere else?
  19. Well, it would appear we certainly want another end for this class yet! Good lord there's been a lot of offers during this last week. Craziest finish to a class I can remember! Even Bo's first class when he initially took over was less in flux than this one seems to wrap up. Anyway, if Willis is versatile and can help us at two different positions, that's a good thing. Especially becaue all we have at TE is Carter and Hart at this point. There's not a whole lot of social media buzz on this one though. Even Clouse is quiet... shocking.
  20. Way better prospect than Coop...I want this kid here STAT Yeah, I don't know about that. Cooper was a great prospect out of high school, and very highly recruited (picked us over Notre Dame I believe). As stated above, Cooper is positioning himself for a breakout year in 2014. Coop and Alexander had really great years for us IMO. We actually might have a PAIR of competant safeties back there for the first time in a LONG time... Asante and O'Hanlon weren't bad but weren't all that great either.
