  1. Curry played too much, Moss will get a Med RS As for DT no one is going to be able to answer that, not even the coaches. I think we have the best shot a Quincy Russell, then Toby Johnson (hes talking about bringing his family back and it would be for a 3rd time) Pecko is probably MSU or Utah, Hooks is Ole Miss or Miami. We may have a shot with Devante Bond. Bo will be soon or already is visiting Hooks tonight, so things could swing, but doubtful. If we could just kidnap (or pay) Hooks Toby and Russell our Dline would be majorly upgraded for the next few years, scary good. We will be lucky to get one to be honest with you, even thou we need 3. Kaz will have a lot of work to do with the young guys and we will lack the depth again next year, unless a couple guys swing our way. How does this vicious cycle change then? It continues to baffle me how, when we run a scheme that is predicated so heavily upon the DL generating pass rush on the opposing QB and fill gaps in run support, that we continue to fail at getting big time DL recruits. McMullen and VV were highly regarded last year, but Curry was a gimme with him loving Kaz while he was at Iowa. Moss didn't really have any other schools that were as high profile as us. I believe it came down to us and ASU no? Especially after Suh's Heisman run, and how he continues to generate headlines to this day, I am shocked that more DL recruits aren't lining up to come to NU. I just wish I knew why.
  2. EZ, good to hear we're actually sitting really well with Priest at this point. I like how you pointed out Bo's forte of strong secondaries and ability to shut down passing games. This of course, made me want to play devil's advocate... What exactly are we doing to shore up our WEAKNESS on defense, the front seven and their ability to stuff running games? I strongly believe that most of the reason for the struggles since Suh left is lack of talent and depth in the front seven. Specifically, on the DL. There's a reason Baker almost never came off the field before he got hurt. We simply didn't have the horses behind him to be able to sub him out. IF you look at our depth chart there this year: DT: Baker, Rome, Thad, Cam, Guy, Peat, Williams, Curry, VV. DE: EMart, Ankrah, Cam, Moss, McMullen. Forgive me if I have forgotten anyone. I feel they're listed in order of coaching staff's comfortability playing them. Anybody Below basically Cam on the DT list was either RSing or injured this year. LB, we are basically spread very thin. 3 starting seniors + Santos, ZA (before injury) and possibly Roach, though we haven't heard much of him. So, we've definitely upgraded the depth and skill at the LB position the last two classes. But our DL remains shaky to me. VV, Curry, and Moss all pushed for playing time this year and obviously the latter two had their shirts burnt. However, we lose all three starters at LB and 3 of our DL starters. Moss, Curry and VV look like monsters, and McMullen was the most heralded of any of the guys from last year, but where do you see the help coming from on DL? I still think we definitely need a major upgrade of talent there, similar to the influx we've seen at LB the last two years. Gregory looks like he could possibly walk in and start next year, but we have no DT's committed, which is arguably our biggest need. Who do you see us getting? This is a call to EZ, Hedley, or anyone else who has more than a guess where we lie with DL recruits and who the staff likes the best. Basically, anybody who has any information that is going to make us be very happy, very soon.
  3. I understand the kid may have some qualification issues... But does that top 4 make ANY SENSE? If you look at it purely from a success on the field standpoint, we blow the other 3 schools away RIGHT NOW. My guess is location and WOMENZZZ are being taken into account on this one though.
  4. God I REALLY hope we show up for the bowl game... I was thinking about what the offseason would be like if we saw another Saturday-esque performance at the Cap One... -__-

UGA is prolly workin on the same plays Wisconsin used..

  5. But if he's just telling a previous commit that he can't sign, he would still be able to take a more-sought-after player instead of someone else without technically "over-signing". At least he's got the balls to tell it to the kid's face rather than letting them show up on campus, get all settled in, and deciding later on who needs to be "cut." The story that came out about the QB who had his scholly revoked thru mo fault of his own at LSU made me lose all respect for that scumbag Miles. The QB got a freakin LETTER letting him no he no longer Haida scholarship (he was an upperclassman). Keep it classy, Les. IIRC, they also had a lineman on that same video that said they shafted him too. I'd recommend digging up the video if you want to learn some more about Miles' recruiting tactics at LSU. A google search of "LSU backup QB scholarship over signing" would probably do it. Btw, Toby, come to NU bud! We're seriously the place to be!
  6. Yeah, I don't like this either. Georgia already has 30 commits. How many do you think they will take this year? prolly FITTY!!!I like how we graduate one of our largest classes ever. Along with attrition. We are still only looking to take 23-25 recruits this year! Damn you Bo and your higher standards! Your "doing it the right way!" Your "go home and make sure this is the right place for you!" Caring about kids grades and their lives after football! Time for a new coach boys! To be fair, Mark Richt is one of the few coaches in the SEC that has taken a staunch stand AGAINST the practice of oversigning. I respect him a lot for that. Especially considering his team is now playing in SEC championship game for the 2nd straight year. Yeah, he's in a recruiting hotbed, but still, not taking as many kids as a lot of the dirtier schools must means he's a heck of a coach if he's still getting it done. I PRAY Georgia knocks off Alabama so there's actually a team I can stomach cheering for in the MNC this year.
  7. I thought he was paid to be the dominant player he was as a Husker in '09. His 20 tackles so far this year are underwhelming to say the least. On that note, did anyone hear what Warren Sapp had to say about Suh? I know none of us like Sapp that much, but the guy knows his stuff. (Although I question him saying that Nick Fairley is better.) Don't ask us a question and then not answer it. What did Sapp say? Damn, leave us hanging. x2.
  8. Agree this whole thread is a joke. I'm going to assume it's DK and not think twice about this thread. Go back and find the phrase "big guy" in this thread. Plus, his other frontrunner is 7-5 right now, and will tag on another loss this weekend
  9. Joaquin Bell is a beast.

  10. Anybody know the score of the Ravens-Bumblebees game?

Agree with you totally man. Andy has totally fostered and allowed a team mentality of not giving a crap. I honestly don't think this garbage season is all on Vick, but I'm ready to move on there as well.

I already know that the Fluffaloes and KSUcks are incapable of winning an outright championship...but Nowe're Dumb doing it would just be awful.

  12. Jermaine Gresham was a good TE for the Sooners who is now in the league. He's the only TE from OU that comes to mind. Problem is, he is making plays for the Bengals. We don't have the same type of TE visibility that they do in that sense. Mike McNeil was great for the Huskers, but he's signed to the Rams and isn't starting. However, if you look at the TE usage lately, we definitely take the cake over them. Reed and Cotton have been used a lot all season. We probably just showed Sandland game film of them, described their responsibilities, and told him that is the role he'd be taking on. I bet he loved hearing it.
  13. Please stick around man. Once you wade through some of the idiots, there are some good guys here. Sorry btw, sometimes it's just good to rip the new guys one right away and break em in so to speak... I agree with a lot of your points. I think Pelini is a great coach and I see no reason to think of firing him. There are obviously some things he could do better, but everyone has those. He's shown this season he has a lot of what the qualities and intangibles to be a great college coach. I like the fact that his teams just quietly keep their heads down and keep working during games. We're not flashy, and pretty even keel. Don't get too high nor too low, and that is a HUGE advantage because it allows the team to deal with a lot of adversity and work though it-- for some spectacular comeback wins, so far. I also think he's the best fit as a head coach NU could ask for. He understands the Nebraska culture, buys into it, and loves it. I can't even put into words how much I prefer him as the face of our program as opposed to some sleaze looking to earn the big bucks like Kiffin or Urban or Miles. The people that sa he's "not a good face of the program due to his sideline demeanor" are idiots. They can't see how much the team love their coach and how they'd obviously run though a wall for him. Now, let's finish this class strong with some big nasty DT's and Priest and Sandland and some OT's and a surprise or two! Welcome again.
  14. What's that, it IS possible to beat Nike University? They're not a bunch of hideously clad yellow and green demigods toying with us all? Oh yeah, it is. Now can those of you who claim we have no shot against UO go back into your holes?

Wow, Shaw has some balls on him, if you heard his interview. "If we cut down on our turnovers... this might not even be a close game."

After watching that game, I'd be more afraid to play Stanford. They shut Oregon down completely. So, does this change anyone's opinion of Nootre Lame?

  15. Leach is failing quite spectacularly at Wazzu. 7-47 in the 4th to ASU?

  16. GD it, this perfectly innocent, good Rumorville thread is already infested with this Pony bullsh*t. One post in. Is no thread safe? Can no poster find sanctuary?!
  17. Lol. Come on man. Strong response for a new guy with 9 posts... "F*ck this thread." Don't come just to flame the board. You got off on a tangent about us wanting Bo gone as coach. I didn't say that ANYWHERE. I said that at one point in the season, when we had just gotten GASHED by OSU and had previously seen the D give up the 2nd most yards ever (woulda been the most but they took knees and lost yards ) to UCLA that I thought if Bo didn't upgrade the talent on the defense, it might CAUSE him to be gone. I didn't say I wanted that. But the point of the board is to discuss the Huskers, and we did that by talking about the recruiting class. Since then the recruiting has picked up and we are all happy about that. Please keep seemingly random, arbitrary, vehement defense of Pelini for no reason limited to threads that call for it. Thanks! Oh, and welcome to the board.
  18. Too many good games on during ours!

  19. As an aside, I was thinking the other day I'd actually prefer Rob to Rex if someone said my coach had to have a Ryan as a coach.
  20. Will probably keep Harvin unless someone can sell me on one of the other two now. I've gone back and forth too much on this... So I can't be the only one with a team here. How your guys teams' doing?
  21. Non PPR standard. If it was PPR I'd hang on to Harvin for dear life. Amendola would also start for me. I forgot to mention my bench: Amendola, Desean Jackson, Maclin, Nick Foles, Hartline, Jets D/ST
