The judge ruled he can’t speak because his lawyers blew off multiple deadlines (with multiple extensions the judge didn’t need to give) and did not assure the judge Trump would abide by specific conditions to speak (such as not attacking the judge or clerks, no campaign stump speech, etc). Everything is just another opportunity to whine to this guy. I’ll never understand why conservatives think he’s such a tough guy. He’s a petulant, whiny victim 1000% of the time.

Kent was a ton of fun. Pretty sure I heard him drop a holy s#!t after the court was stormed on broadcast. Maybe it was someone else. Long suffering Husker fan needed this one. Great job by the guys tonight. They played out of their minds and had to to pull this one off.

Twisting in a pretzel is right. i mean it’s one thing to suggest to the “Every POTUS is a war criminal, drone strikes are murdering civilians, etc.” that the president cannot be hauled into The Hague and tried on murder charges. I’m sympathetic to people who hold that view, but that’s a completely different issue in a completely different jurisdiction. His lawyers really stepped in a rake in cartoonish fashion by arguing POTUS can just call in hits on political rivals without consequence if Congress does not impeach and convict. That essentially means POTUS is untouchable if Congress continues being its dysfunctional hyperpartisan self. What’s a stop a president from just killing their political opponents and any Congress member who they felt would try to impeach them? Or what if, unlike Trump, they had the capacity for shame or belief consequences existed and they just resigned like Nixon before they could be removed? Are they just off scot free then? This is such a stupid, shortsighted, crazy argument they willingly made, I’d expect nothing less.

I think she’s just angling to try to win South Carolina. Apparently unabashedly denouncing slavery is not an electoral winner there. She just might be the John Kasich of this election cycle. I’d actually have much preferred him to her. He didn’t try to kowtow to the Trumpists at all.

Pretty bad look for someone trying to position themselves as the moderate alternative. Just goes to show the type of dumb s#!t you have to say to appeal to GOP primary voters.

Also y’all need to take a step back. The economy is improving, inflation is tapering off and it appears we may have achieved a soft landing. But that’s gonna take a while to factor into polls. Also there’s plenty of people pretending the GOP has some realistic alternative to Trump right now. There’s a subset of voters who will opt for Trump vs. Biden in a rematch when asked now but are going to start heading for the exits if the economy keeps with the upswing and they keep getting whacked over the head with his whole “I’m just a little bit fascist, as a funny, tee hee” shtick AFTER reality sinks in that crazy a-hole is actually the nominee. And most likely a convict at that point. And yeah I’m voting for Biden 110%. Fascism sucks way worse than being old and competent.

Dodgers got Ohtani and Yamamoto and spent $1B to do it. As a Mets fan I hate it. I don’t care if that’s hypocritical. This offseason has been terrible for competitive balance of baseball even if it’s hunky dory from a CBA perspective. Dodgers might as well go hog wild now. Guarantee they button this stuff up when they implement a new CBA. Funny to me how they implemented new tax thresholds when the Mets finally decide to spend big bucks but all anyone can say now is how good the Dodgers moves are for baseball.

So I don’t wanna derail the discussion on food - we’ve been doing a lot more cooking at home lately and I’ve been trying to get healthier with my choices. Lots of veggie friendly stuff as the missus is a pescatarian (fish only for animal protein). I love rice which is dirt cheap and have recently found beans or lentils cooked in a pressure cooker are super easy and tasty if you season or sauce them up well enough. Great protein option as your body treats rice and beans like animal protein because it’s got a complete amino profile. Anyway my main point: what’s the consensus on life under Pillen? Is the legislature actually doing anything worthwhile or just following his culture war crap and b!^@hing about property taxes? Is ole Ernie Chambers still up to his shenanigans or did he finally pursue something else? it’s pretty hard to keep up with the homeland since we moved up north.

I watched this entire fight. Colby lost because he fought scared and got outwrestled by a striker. Almost got submitted a couple times too. Edwards was toying with him. Watching Usman bust his jaw was one of the most poetically satisfying ends to a fight I've ever seen. What a douchenozzle.

Unreal how bad they just shafted FSU. Undefeated conference champ can't get in. We should've gone to 8 teams from the jump. I mean four is still better than the BCS era but damn. Could you imagine how salty we would be if the unfathomable occurred and we were in their position?
