  1. With Free Shoes and Clemson losing, we'll probably move up to #12. What will be interesting how the 5-6 spots behind us look, as pretty much everybody from 15 down to 20 lost this weekend.
  2. Feelin' a bit saucy.

  3. Feelin' a bit saucy.

  4. Obviously losing to Bucky Cheese and a Georgia win, thereby drawing Alabama would be a nightmare. I suppose some people would be excited about getting disemboweled by Alabama, but I'm not one of those people. Unless Alabama was maybe colossally let down and didn't take Nebraska seriously, which I guess is possible. Kind of like Nebraska having to play Washington again.
  5. You did all just watch us score exactly one touchdown and two field goals against juggernaut Iowa, right? Yes, I know it was cold.
  6. Mich St was last year, so I guess our division (Legends? $%# how is this a good idea if nobody can remember which one we're in) is the "away" this time. So, white jersey for us. Stick to the red pants and don't try anything silly..... I noticed Wisky wears all-white, which is about the only point of difference between the two uni sets.
  7. Up to this season, I thought there was something very Taylor Martinez-esque about Tony Romo. Mind-bogglingly stupid followed by incomprehensible genius, often in the same offensive drive. But Taylor wins in spite of it.
  8. Wisky is struggling offensively in the second half. I think we just have to force them to throw it. Of course, we have to do some things a lot better than we are doing, like handling punts and taking care of the ball.
  9. Bucks have had every chance to shut the door, and they haven't done it.
  10. The B1G gets overmatched a lot. It'll happen again when the Capital One and Outback bowls give us Alabama or Florida or LSU as opponents. It's like the Huskers during our long bowl losing streak we had.... oh yeah, you lost 7 straight bowl games, yadda yadda. What everyone forgets is that we were often the champion of a weak Big 8 conference being forced into Orange Bowl matchups against Miami and Florida State teams that were #1 or #2. Even Georgia Tech was co-champ the year they drew us. There was one year where Florida State was easily the best team in the country, but they lost to Southern Miss or something really early and so they were out of the title game. They played us in the Fiesta Bowl and basically obliterated the bejesus out of us. We were the second best team in the Big 8 and that's our draw. Nebraska played BOTH sets of split national champions in two consecutive seasons.... how often does that happen? We just had a very, very hard draw during those years. Out of those 7 bowls, it's very hard to find one where we were not prohibitive underdogs.
  11. I think I would feel like a B1G title would have a little less meaning if Ohio State finished unbeaten. If they were to lose to Michigan, I'd at least feel like "well, we beat a team that beat them". Either way, Ohio St is probably the best team in the conference, but at least it wouldn't feel so clear cut. Years from now, I think a title would be more meaningful if I didn't have that thought in the back of my mind that there was a 12-0 Ohio State team sitting there. (Which also kicked our #$%#es).
  12. It was dark during the second half of the Mich St game. Does that count?
  13. Michigan just ran Denard out of a diamond, and went 67 yards. Looks like they watched some of our film (I doubt they would want to use much of it defensively, though)
  14. +1 I would like to see a concerted effort to improve our return game. The drops are completely inexcusable.... enough is enough, you can't give away possessions like that week after week. This is compounded when you have returners that become skittish as a result - so even when they do field it correctly, they will start fair-catching in situations where perhaps it isn't necessary , or they'll run away from the ball completely and give up field position.
  15. If we win next week and the Rose Bowl, do we finish in the top 10?
  16. Not anymore, but I spent 14 years in Janesville and another four in GB. Now Nebraska's in the Big 10 and I live in Colorado *rueful laugh*.
  17. Here's some nice stats: Since 1990, Nebraska is 18-5 on Black Friday. 5-1 vs Oklahoma, 11-4 vs Colorado, and 2-0 vs Iowa, and 8-3 in road games. Also, Bo is 5-0 in regular season finales.
  18. We still have first half issues. We still are good at overcoming those.
  19. Let's go with the normal unis this time.
  20. Curse over. See, all we had to do was mention it. Gee, it wasn't easy though, was it.
  21. I just realized Chatelain basically posted this pretty much verbatim.... only before me. I had no idea he'd written it. He even played up the Kennedy thing. Weird.
  22. Perhaps by bringing attention to it, then it won't happen. Then we can laugh about how silly and irrational this is, and all will be right
  23. Thinking about cosmic significance of November 23rd and why it is so bad in Husker lore.
