  1. Hopefully current players are playing in Nebraska because they want to play for the Big Red Machine...and not because we play a Texas team once or twice a year. I don't think it should affect many current players as far as attrition goes. I think that as long as we remain on TV (like some have mentioned in previous posts), we'll still have a fair share of national recruiting attention. And if we continue to be successful, our success will draw more recruits. Perhaps moving to the big 10 will increase our national TV coverage. A conference switch would definitely be interesting to many fans. Vs. Michigan, Penn State, OSU, etc. Those would be guaranteed nationally televised games. Since we'd be beating up on the big 10, I'm sure Notre Dame would want to get in on a couple of those beatings, too. That's an interesting match up to me. I digress...but, I think the recruits that we have right now want to play for Bo and Co or because they like the school regardless of who we play.
  2. Yeah! Get him in on 10/16. The atmosphere, the stadium, the game, the team...I think he'll have to reconsider everything he previously thought up until that point.
  3. It's kind of amazing to think...what a great job the Pelini's did with Suh. Not to take anything away from Suh, but would he be where he is at with the previous staff? I mean, it takes a flame to make a dynamite go boom.
  4. Well, not that I want him to feel regret, but I'm sure he's gotta think about it every now and then...what coulda been...
  5. GRIMBLE WITH A FINAL FOUR PER ESPN WE'RE IN HIS TOP 4 QUOTE: "Defensive end Jalen Grimble (Las Vegas/Bishop Gorman) confirmed his final four of USC, UCLA, Nebraska and LSU earlier this week. The 6-foot-3, 255-pounder is the cousin of incoming Trojans freshman tight end Xavier Grimble, so USC may be tough to beat here. Nonetheless, he's been very positive about the Bruins, Cornhuskers and Tigers at different points during the process. Xavier Grimble committed to USC shortly after the Los Angeles Nike Football Training Camp last year. Will his cousin do the same? (The camp was Sunday.) Stay tuned." GRRRIMBLE ...
  6. Not that I was following him too closely, but I didn't see him going to OSU. Kind of surprising to me. Per ESPN
  7. Texas?! Texas?? C'mon, man...Texas?!? really.... Texas???
  8. Also West might be heading the list for dime back if Gomes is moving to safety. Oh, and New Recruit Corey Cooper...if he's the real deal, he'll be in the discussion this summer.
  9. I just like the fact that we have the personnel to play either the Peso or a traditional 4-3. We can go either way depending on what the opponents offense is favoring and not have a drop in talent either way.
  10. This is the ultimate groom test from the bride. It has to be!! She's testing him to see how loyal the groom is. Get married Vs. Spring game. A great test.
  11. I wouldn't say Helu had an off year, but more that he had an inconsistent/injury prone year. He had fantastic games against VaTech and Oklahoma, yet had other games he just looked off. I'd really like to see him prove that he can go through a season and stay relatively healthy. He plays the most injury prone position on the team, but I'd like to see him fight through the bumps and bruises better. Helu also came into last year after bulking up. The talk was that he would be able to withstand the pounding of the ground game. But I wonder if the bulking up has made him a little more prone to the injury, instead of actually helping him stay away from them. Everyone else on my list is covered. Niles Paul - stop making mental mistakes at crucial parts of the game. Prove that he has the capacity to be a consistent big time play maker for the offense. The entire D has to prove Bo correct that this year's D will be better. And the line has to move on without Suh. Crick has to show that he's not a product of Suh and is a gamer in his own right. Baker and the other DL have to step up to alleviate that as well. Eric Martin is a great enthusiastic play maker on Special teams. But can he reel it all in and put it together to play a controlled, violently wild play maker on D? Zac Lee...prove that his injury created more of a problem that what was led on. And prove that he can hit an open receiver under pressure.
  12. Ouch...no Frazier? Well, we still got Turner, but I liked Frazier. LOVE his name, too. Thanks for the info!!
  13. Anything that will help scoring TD's instead of FG's is good. If he's a playmaker, then we have to get him the ball. And that still requires someone (QB) to be able to GET Him the ball. Hopefully it works out for the better. I trust his hands. Now, can he still create the same mismatches from a slot receiver position as he did when he lined up at TE?
  14. He's coming for the spring game so we'll see how much interest he has in us after that. The recent rivals article talks about his coach saying he is very interested in Nebraska. The coach talks about how Nebraska is very attractive to an incoming QB...cause everything is up in the air. Obviously that could change if CG makes the most of this spring but it sounds good now. Besides the Enormous party that we'd throw on the board, what do you think happens if he commits? Turner says he looks forward to competition, but do you think he'd still be as strong as before? Do you think he might want to take a peek somewhere else? In my perfect world Turner is okay with it and if he doesn't start at QB, he moves to slot/RB/play maker. But, I like this kid and Like Turner, too. What does everyone else think?
  15. I don't know if I count or not.... I'm in Seoul, South Korea....To Lincoln approximately 6371 Miles. Give or take a few.
  16. Ask and you shall recieve. Not too telling however. I did a search of Huskerboard and found these lists for 2008 and 2009 (The only spring games under the current staff). 2008 Ryan Mossakowski, QB Frisco, Texas. Clayton Moore, QB Louisville, Miss. Nathan Scheelhaase, ATH Kansas City. Gabe Lynn, DB Tulsa, Okla. Brandon Wegher, RB Sioux City, Iowa. Shawn Bodtmann, FB/LB Scranton, Pa. Nick Ash, OG Keller, Texas. Yashua Williams, CB Denton (Ryan). 2009 Spring Game Chris Barnett, TE, Dallas (Texas) A Maceo Smith (2011 recruit) Jared Barnett, QB, Garland (Texas) Chance Carter, DE, Wilmette (Ill.) Loyola Andre Dawson, RB, Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Washington Tyler Evans, S, Waverly Randy Knust, WR, The Woodlands (Texas) Marcus Lucas, WR, Liberty (Mo.) Robert Marve, QB, Miami transfer (official visitor) Mike Moudy, OL, Castle Rock (Colo.) Douglas County Tobi Okuyemi, DE, Plymouth (Minn.) Wayzata Torrea Peterson, DT, San Antonio (Texas) East Central James Randall, LB, Compton (Calif.) Andrew Rodriguez, OL, Aurora (Husker commit) Neil Shortell, DE, Shawnee Mission (Kan.) Bishop Miege Keeston Terry, WR, Blue Springs (Mo.) Cole Underwood, OL, Denton (Texas) Guyer Both only list the nationally ranked players attending. I left out all of the 2011 visitors and nebraska players who did not have or would not recieve scholarship offers because there are typically 75+ Nebraska players in attendance. There may have been late additions to the visitors who might not have been included on the list after the fact. -In 2008 only 1 player committed who ended up signing (Shawn Bodtmann's scholarship was later pulled). -In 2009 3 players committed who ended up signing (A-Rod was already committed I believe and K. Terry decommitted during the summer?) I don't think that a percentage can really be calculated because I don't think that these lists are entirely comprehensive, plus a guy like Tyler Evens was really probably more of a walk-on candidate until he camped here during the summer. If there is one thing that you can definately take away from it however, it is that we are bringing in a lot more quality players this year. It is obvious that recruits are liking what the've seen and heard from the Huskers. Let's hope that will translate into more committs following the spring game. Most Definitely!!! If you look at the rankings from Scout (because Rivals doesn't have anything yet), you'll see much greater pre-season rankings... 17. Planning on visiting during his senior year ... ESPN article
  18. Wow. That's a pretty impressive list. I don't know how good of a shot, but Chickillo is high on my wish list. Frazier and Hundley both coming up?! Wow. Just to have them up for the game is great news!!
  19. I think he's in the same status as Owa. If he wants to be N, we make room for him. As for the ESPN article, I will wait to see his comments later. I think interviews can be taken out of context. Sure he mentioned the USC, UF and Texas, but maybe he was asked directly about those 3 schools. If so, then he was just answering a question and not necessarily discussing those 3 schools as his favorites.
  20. RIVALS TEASER SAYS WE'RE CO-LEADERS WITH MICHIGAN!! Of course, I don't have membership so I can't summarize, but it's looking good!
  21. Did i miss something? Perhaps it's just right now...but was cruising thru ESPN and they re-ranked Moore and removed him from the 150 Watchlist. Hopefully, they're just updating or something?? NU recruits
  22. I checked several sites to see if that was a misprint. It wasn't. Dunno, girl, he almost seems like the size of a safety. ESPN has him as an Outside Linebacker. Projecting to be a OLB/Rush end on pass plays. "Linebacker Ryan Shazier (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Plantation): Shazier has made his name as a pass-rushing terror off the edge for Plantation, notching 19 sacks last season. His transformation into an outside linebacker is under way, and this spring is a first chance to test his ability to play in space, change direction, and use his quickness and pure speed to chase and cover, instead of exploding off the edge and closing on a quarterback. The early returns were positive on back-to-back days at a 7-on-7 practice and at the Under Armour combine. Shazier has quickly shown the ability to both adapt and understand the position. He is receiving offers from around the country from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Louisville, Nebraska and South Florida. LSU is expected to join them in the near future." Link - ESPN
  23. PER ESPN Report, it was reported that we are in the lead: "Turene, a 6-foot-2, 215-pounder, has offers from Nebraska, Illinois, Florida Atlantic and Florida International. The Cornhuskers are said to have the lead at this time." ESPN Very, very early and hard to tell with Florida kids, but because we're showing the love early we might have increased our chances.
  24. I really like this walk-on class, especially with the group of Wullenwaber, Hughes, and Wade at wr. I like the 3 you mentioned plus Schrodt. He's got track speed and would be nice if he could translate it into Football Speed.
