  1. Oh man this was hilarious! I was laughing so hard it brought tears to my eyes.
  2. Ask your pal if he watched the first 15 minutes of the NFL draft this year.
  3. 4. Field goals by Alex Henery. Out of 4 attempts vs CU, Nov. 28, 2008. 35 yds, 27 yds, 37 yds, and 57 yds.
  4. Yeah, it’s easy to mix up those dual Outland/Lombardi winning NU O-lineman from the 80s.
  5. Yeah, I think Mike Brown woulda been in my top two or three for nickel. Several speedy LBs come to mind, and a few safeties. I don’t recall many CBs with enough size.
  6. We had one heck of a SOS in 1995, and aside from a "close" game against Washington St., we trounced everyone. Brutally. I notice you have "close" in quotes, and rightfully so. That game looks closer on paper from the 35-21 score than it actually was. Wazoo scored two late TDs against our reserves.
  7. Has Starling said he's gonna play baseball too? We could use the help.
  8. We’ve had a lot of guys who would have been great in the new Peso nickel back position. Both LBs and DBs. I’m going with a LB. Terrell Farley. Good size, 6-01 205. Incredible speed. Hits like a freight train.
  9. 1. Suh: Man, am I glad he came back for his senior year. Suh is glad too. 2. Dillard: He was better than people realized at a position without much depth. 3. Asante: The guy could bring the wood. WRs feared Larry when they came over the top. 4. Matty O'Hanlon: Played big in big games. Maybe the best walkon to come along in several years. B12 D player of the week. 5. Barry Turner: He was good, maybe even great, but overshadowed by that guy playing to his right. 6. Colton Koehler: Don’t forget this guy. He stepped up when we needed him. Players like Koehler are what the walk-on program is all about.

Nexus, you are like a Husker encyclopedia. Incredible!
  11. Great painting! Except Osborne looks pissed. Probably because his two fingers on the pool table got broken earlier that evening when he kicked the crap out of Dan Beebe and DeLoss Dodds in a bar fight.
  12. I’m all in favor of our move to the Big 10. But I’m gonna miss playing a few of our longtime conference rivals like KU and Mizzou. Seems to me like KU and Mizzou would be great nonconference games leading up to our Big 10 schedule. Probably several teams would make for good nonconf games from the Big 12 minus two.
  13. Rushmore and The Royal Tenembaums, two great flicks by Wes Anderson. Another good movie that was not widely popularized is Saint Ralph.
  14. The homowners association did end up backtracking. They said their issue wasn’t with the flag, but the size of the 21 foot tall flag pole. link I am glad to see that the homeowner association get slammed to the turf. Homeowner associations do play a small role in keeping neighborhoods clean and neat. But for the most part it seems like homeowner associations are staffed by sniveling, petty, nosy twits.
  15. Carnes, Turner--who really knows? With any of these guys you can't be sure what you have until they've been on campus for a few months. And with the QB position you really can't tell how good a guy is until he plays a few quarters against meaningful competition.
  16. I'd like to see Prince in for a couple of crackbacks on LBs. Actually, I'll bet he would make a fine receiver. Blazing speed, and seems to have good hands.
  17. Keep it. Since it's the *Victory* Bell it obviously belongs in Lincoln not Columbia.
  18. We could just start putting KU on our helmets. For the correct spelling of "knowledge".
  19. I hope Zac heals well and is a great QB. But Green has more raw talent. It remains to be seen whether Green exhibits the leadership qualities needed to be the next great QB. Shoot, it remains to be seen whether Green can beat out Zac. But at least we have a bit of QB depth this year.
  20. A kid growing up in small town Nebraska should definitely play. But it’s up to the kid, not the parent. I played and had a blast. My son will attend a much larger school though. So it will be harder for him to make the high school team. But I'm going to encourage my son to try out. You never know. The next Rex has to come from some place. Ha!
  21. Ha ha! I just came to this forum to start a thread on this very topic. Perhaps a "pinned topic" subforum would reduce the clutter a bit? Anyway, great job guys! Damn fine board this is.
  22. The article about the flag thing was from Dec 09. I'm guessing the homowner association backed off from their postion. Very slowly, without making any sudden moves.
  23. THe guy was awarded the Medal of Honor. He earned the right to fly an American flag anyplace he damn well pleases.
  24. Surprising to have home losses to TT followed by IA State last season. It's sad that we’ve had back to back losses in Memorial Stadium several times in this decade. How many did we lose in Lincoln during all of the 1990s? Seems like we had only two or three home losses.
